Cardinals announce 3 practice squad additions

The Cardinals made some roster moves Wednesday before practice.

The Arizona Cardinals announced the addition of three players to their practice squad on Wednesday. They added running back Tavien Feaster, whose signing was reported Tuesday, offensive lineman Koda Martin and cornerback Greg Mabin.

Feaster spent the offseason and preseason with the Cardinals this year before being cut. His addition is likely in response to a hamstring injury to Eno Benjamin. Benjamin injured his hamstring last week and was out at the end of the week and would have been unable to play. He has not yet been active in his NFL career.

Martin was recently released Monday when safety Chris Banjo was added to the 53-man roster. He had played the last two games for the Cardinals.

Mabin is a new addition. Listed at 6-2 and 200 lbs, he has played in 34 career games (five starts) with the Bills (2017), 49ers (2017-18), Bengals (2019) and Jaguars (2020). He has 41 career tackles, six pass breakups, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. He played in five games last year with Jacksonville and had a career-high 20 tackles. Mabin originally entered the league in 2017 with Tampa Bay as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Iowa.

Titans part ways with 3 players in Tuesday roster moves

The Titans parted ways with three injured players on Tuesday.

The Tennessee Titans parted ways with three players on Tuesday, per the league’s transactions wire, releasing center Spencer Pulley and defensive back Greg Mabin, and waiving tight end Donnie Ernsberger.

Pulley was signed by the Titans on July 30 to provide some depth competition at center but he landed on Injured Reserve on Aug. 5.

Mabin, who spent time on the Titans’ practice squad in 2020 and was re-signed by the team back in May, was also placed on IR the same day as Pulley. Both players were released with injury settlements.

Meanwhile, it was an even shorter stay in Nashville for Ernsberger, as the former Tampa Bay Buccaneer was signed on Aug. 5. He suffered an injury during practice on Monday.

The Titans will hit the practice field on Wednesday evening starting at 5 p.m. CT for what will be their final session before the preseason opener in Atlanta against the Falcons on Friday.

Titans add three, waive one in flurry of roster moves

The Titans have confirmed the signing of Brian Hill, among four moves.

The Tennessee Titans announced four roster moves on Thursday, one of which includes the signing of former Atlanta Falcons running back, Brian Hill, whose agent revealed the move on Wednesday.

Among the other three moves were the signings of linebacker Justin March and defensive back Greg Mabin, and the waiving of defensive back Kareem Orr.

Hill, who had a career year with the Falcons in 2020 with 664 total yards (465 rushing) and one score, will provide some competition for the backup running back job behind Derrick Henry. Darrynton Evans and Jeremy McNichols will also be vying for snaps.

Mabin was a member of the Titans during the 2020 campaign, spending most of his time on the practice squad. He never appeared in a game for the Titans, but did play in five contests (four starts) with the Jacksonville Jaguars near the end of the season, totaling 21 total tackles and three passes defensed.

March was originally an undrafted free agent out of Akron before signing with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2015. He has also spent time with the Dallas Cowboys, Miami Dolphins and Seattle Seahawks.

Orr spent the last two seasons in Nashville, appearing in seven games (no starts) over that span. He finished with 16 combined tackles (13 solo) and one fumble recovered.

Titans add LS Matt Orzech to roster, DB Greg Mabin to practice squad

The Titans now have two long snappers, one of which is on the practice squad.

The Tennessee Titans have officially added long snapper Matt Orzech to the active roster after he passed COVID-19 protocols following the team signing him from the Miami Dolphins’ practice squad on November 5.

Along with that move, the Titans are bringing back cornerback Greg Mabin, who was signed to the team’s practice squad for a second time this season.

You might remember Mabin as one of the several players on the team who tested positive for COVID-19, although Mabin’s positive came in before the flood that was the Titans’ outbreak.

With Orzech, the Titans now have two long snappers, one of which is on the practice squad in Matt Overton, who made his Tennessee debut in Week 9 after the team parted ways with Beau Brinkley after Week 8.

Overton did have a bad snap on a punt attempt but was fine overall. Orzech will likely get his shot to show he can do better in Week 10.

Titans add practice squad DB Greg Mabin to COVID-19 list

The Titans now have two players on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.

The Tennessee Titans have added defensive back Greg Mabin, who is currently on the practice squad, to the Reserve/COVID-19 list, according to the league’s transactions wire.

Players who are placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list have either contracted the virus or come in contact with someone who has.

Mabin was signed to the Titans’ practice squad just two days ago. No corresponding move has been announced.

Tennessee now has two players on the list at the moment, as offensive tackle and 2020 first-round pick, Isaiah Wilson, is currently serving his second stint there. He was originally placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list at the start of training camp, and once again on September 6.

Along with Wilson and now Mabin, the Titans have had a grand total of four players on the list since July. Defensive lineman Jack Crawford and former Titans linebacker Josh Smith were also on it at one point, but have since been removed.
