Stephen Curry hits epic golf swing celebration after nailing 3-pointer against Milwaukee Bucks

Stephen Curry is just like us all.

Stephen Curry is just like us all.

Well, at least his love for golf.

The Golden State Warriors point guard, a four-time NBA champion, is an avid golfer. He has participated in Capital One’s The Match, and last year, he won the American Century Championship, a tournament where he also had a hole-in-one. He even competed in a Korn Ferry Tour event in 2017.

And just like other golfers, there’s never a bad time to practice your swing, including in the middle of a professional basketball game.

That’s what Curry did Wednesday night, playing on ESPN against the Milwaukee Bucks. In the first quarter, Curry hit a deep 3-pointer and celebrated by practicing his golf swing. Because of course.

If only we were as good at our day jobs as Curry is at his.

Golf instruction: Easy points to master the takeaway of the golf swing

Taking the club outside and picking the club up can make a big difference in the simplicity of the takeaway.

For most amateur golfers, their hands start working away from the body and roll the club inside during their takeaway.

Adding more shaft lean at impact can help with this and lower the loft of the club face.

You can use data from TrackMan or other simulator technologies to measure your progress. Dynamic loft and launch angle will be the two most important data points to look at.

Judging by a recent video, Rickie Fowler’s patented laid-off backswing may be a thing of the past

“Best I’ve seen Rickie’s swing.” — golf instructor Travis Fulton.

Rickie Fowler has had the definition of a rollercoaster career. From being labeled overrated, to winning The Players Championship, to coming within a few shots of multiple majors, to a nearly four-year winless drought, he’s been through it all.

But through thick and thin, he stuck with the swing that got him to golf’s biggest stage — the patented laid-off backswing that any golf fan could recognize within seconds.

That move may be a thing of the past.

A video of Fowler’s new swing made its way through social media this week, and it looks like he’s been putting in some work. He’s no longer flat at the top, but in the perfect position. To be honest, it’s odd seeing Fowler produce such a textbook move.

For comparison, here’s a side-by-side look at his swing from 2020 and the most recent view.

After a tough 2021-22 season that included 22 starts, nine missed cuts, one top-10 finish and just one major championship appearance (T-24, PGA Championship), Fowler has finished T-6 at the Fortinet and T-2 at the Zozo already this season. His last start came at the CJ Cup in October.
