LSU junior centerfielder [autotag]Dylan Crews[/autotag] has been named one of three outfielders on the 2023 American Baseball Coaches Association Gold Glove team.
Crews receives a lot of pomp and circumstance for his skills with the bat, and deservedly so. He finished the 2023 season with an unreal .426 batting average, 18 homers, and 70 RBI. Lost in the awe of those numbers is the fact that he is one of the best outfielders in the game.
Crews played in 71 games this season and finished with a 1.000 fielding percentage. What does that mean? That means that in his 171 fielding opportunities this season, he made zero errors. That is unbelievable.

If you watched the College World Series, you saw how tough it was to catch a fly ball, left fielders on just about every team made at least one error. His job in center field is not easy and he still never made a mistake. That is why is projected to be one of the top two picks in the 2023 MLB draft next week.
