The Boston Celtics are reportedly working out four wing prospects to add to their 2023-24 roster. The four are Glenn Robinson III, Lamar Stevens, Louis King and TJ Warren. They might also want to bring back veteran big Blake Griffin.

Boston has two regular roster spots and a two-way roster spot available. In addition, the contract for veteran big man Luke Kornet is not guaranteed. That means Boston could add as many as four of those five players. Far more likely is it will add only two and keep Kornet.

The host of the “Locked On Celtics” podcast, John Karalis, recently sat down with guest Tom Westerholm of Boston Dot Com to talk over what players are the best fit for the Celtics and more.

Check out the clip embedded above to hear their takes on Boston’s final roster-building moves.

Glenn Robinson III will reportedly workout for his former team.

[anyclip pubname=”2123″ widgetname=”0016M00002U0B1kQAF_M8170″]

Following the peak player-movement window of the offseason, the Golden State Warriors have two open roster spots with the start of training camp looming.

According to multiple reports, the Warriors plan to work out multiple veterans, including Harry Giles, Dion Waiters, Trey Burke, Kent Bazemore and Juan Toscano-Anderson, during the summer.

The Warriors reportedly have another workout on the calendar with a former member of the team. According to Michael Scotto of Hoops Hype, Glenn Robinson III is expected to work out for the Warriors.

Via @MikeAScotto on Twitter:

Robinson III spent the 2019-20 season with the Warriors, averaging 12.9 points on 48.1% shooting from the field and 40% from beyond the arc in a career-high 31.6 minutes per game.

During his seven-year career, the veteran forward out of Michigan has  played for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Philadelphia 76ers, Indiana Pacers, Detroit Pistons and Sacramento Kings.

Robinson III last played with the Kings in the 2020-21 campaign, averaging 5.3 points in 23 games.

Every player in Philadelphia 76ers history who has worn No. 40

Here is a list of every player in Philadelphia 76ers history who has worn the No. 40 uniform.

It’s summertime in the NBA, so it’s time to learn some history. The Philadelphia 76ers are one of the older franchises in the NBA. Their history dates to the 1949-50 season.

With that longevity, the team has had hundreds of players come through the City of Brotherly Love. Sixers Wire looks at the No. 40, which has been worn by 11 of those players in the history of the franchise.

This running series will go through all of the uniform numbers worn in franchise history. The previous edition of this series was a list compiling the seven players who have worn the No. 41.

Here is the list of those 11 players who have worn No. 40 in Sixers history:

Report: Former Warrior Glenn Robinson III agrees to one-year deal with Sacramento Kings

After a 48 game stint with the Golden State Warriors in the 2019-20 season, free agent Glenn Robinson III will sign with the Sacramento Kings, per Michael Scotto.

While Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson were dealing with injuries during the 2019-20 season, Glenn Robinson III provided a level of consistency the Golden State Warriors desperately needed.

The six-year veteran averaged 12.9 points on 48.1% shooting from the field with 4.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists per contest. Along with registering new career highs in scoring, rebounds, assists, field goal and free-throw percentage, Robinson III shot a career-best 40% from beyond the arc on 3.5 attempts per contest.

Along with his steady play, the Michigan Wolverines product started and played in 48 of 51 games during his time in the Bay Area.

After a breakout campaign in Steve Kerr’s rotation, the Warriors included Robinson III in a trade with Alec Burks to the Philadelphia 76ers for draft pick compensation.

Following 14 games and one playoff series with Philadelphia, the 26-year-old is on his way back to Northern California. However, it’s not for a reunion with the Wa3rriors. According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, Robinson III has agreed to a deal with the Sacramento Kings.

Via @MikeAScotto on Twitter:

The former second-round pick’s deal with Sacramento is reportedly a one-year contract, per Jason Anderson of the Sacramento Bee.

Via @JasndersonSacBee on Twitter:

With 2020 draft picks like Tyrese Haliburton and Jahmi’us Ramsey roaming Sacramento’s backcourt behind De’Aaron Fox and Buddy Hield, the former Golden State Warrior can bring a layer of proven veteran stability to Sacramento’s slim wing unit.

Report: Glenn Robinson III to leave Sixers, will sign with Kings

Glenn Robinson III will leave the Philadelphia 76ers and sign with the Sacramento Kings.

As the Philadelphia 76ers continue to make big changes up and down their roster, that means players from the previous season have to find other places to play.

One of those players looking for a new home was Glenn Robinson III. The Sixers acquired him, along with Alec Burks, from the Golden State Warriors at the deadline and he averaged 7.7 points and 3.1 rebounds while playing 14 games while dealing with a variety of injuries.

Robinson III was one of the odd men out after the team acquired Seth Curry and Danny Green in draft night trades and he has found a new home with the Sacramento Kings.

The hope for Robinson III now is that he will be able to be a key cog in helping the Kings get back to the playoffs for the first time since 2006. He did shoot 39.1% from deep split between Golden State and Philadelphia so he will be able to help them in the shooting department.

Lakers free agency: Glenn Robinson III receiving interest

The Lakers are reportedly interested in Glenn Robinson III while Batum’s agent didn’t name the Lakers as a team that has shown interest.

The Los Angeles Lakers have added some more talent to their frontcourt and have also gotten younger and more talented at the point guard spot this free agency. But one thing they don’t have a lot of and something you truly can never have enough of in the National Basketball Association is an abundance of 3-point shooting.

Wesley Matthews slots in as a decent replacement for Danny Green and Dennis Schröder has improved steadily over the course of his career from the outside. But you can always have more, which is why the Lakers rumored interest in Glenn Robinson III should come as no surprise.

HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto reports the Lakers are one of several teams interested in Robinson after he shot a career-high 39% from the 3-point line last season. Robinson is a career 37% 3-point shooter and is also 6-6, giving him the ability to guard multiple positions. The Clippers, Rockets, and Nets are among the other teams interested in Robinson. He averaged a career-high 11.9 points per game last season between the Golden State Warriors and Philadelphia 76ers.

Report: Nets interested in Glenn Robinson III

The Nets have looked at Nicolas Batum and Glenn Robinson III as players they could add ahead of 2020-21.

[jwplayer lXgVN8J2-z6KDnl0B]

The Brooklyn Nets have made a few moves since both the NBA trade and free agency moratoriums ended, but they aren’t done just yet.

As the James Harden trade talks have quieted, Landry Shamet and Bruce Brown are now in Brooklyn after being traded by the Los Angeles Clippers and Detroit Pistons, respectively, to the Nets in a three-team trade.

After Joe Harris re-signed with the Nets, Jeff Green also agreed to a deal with Brooklyn to reunite with his former Seattle SuperSonics and Oklahoma City Thunder teammate Kevin Durant.

But the Nets may still try to add another player.

According to Michael Scotto of USA TODAY SMG’s HoopsHype, the Nets are one of the teams that have shown interest in Glenn Robinson III, along with the Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets and Utah Jazz.

Robinson is a career 37.3% 3-point shooter. Last season, between the Golden State Warriors and Philadelphia 76ers, the 6-foot-6 wing shot 39.1% from deep.

Additionally, Nicolas Batum’s agent, Jeremy Medjana, told Basket Session six teams are interested in the wing: the Nets, Jazz, Clippers, Warriors, Milwaukee Bucks and Toronto Raptors.

Batum dealt with a fractured finger last season and has been largely underwhelming during his time with the Charlotte Hornets. However, he’s still been a slightly above-average 3-point shooter throughout his NBA career (35.7%).

Report: Rockets among five teams interested in Glenn Robinson III

Robinson has drawn interest from the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Houston Rockets, Brooklyn Nets, and Utah Jazz, per HoopsHype.

The Houston Rockets are among several NBA teams to have shown interest in 26-year-old forward Glenn Robinson III, according to a new report from Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

Other teams to have shown interest include the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Brooklyn Nets, and Utah Jazz, per Scotto.

Here’s how Scotto describes the market for Robinson, whose father (Glenn “Big Dog” Robinson) was the No. 1 overall pick in the 1994 draft.

Robinson III, 26, is entering his prime and is considered a 3-and-D wing around the league. The 6-foot-6 forward averaged 11.7 points on 48.6 percent shooting from the field and 39.1 percent shooting from downtown in 62 games played last season. He started all 48 games played for the Golden State Warriors before being traded to the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Rockets are subject to a hard salary cap after the sign-and-trade acquisition of Christian Wood, so they are very limited with regards to roster spots and what they can financially offer.

It also remains to be seen whether Houston can offer the 6-foot-6 forward a clear path to playing time, following the signings of guard Sterling Brown and forward Jae’Sean Tate. Scotto didn’t specify when the Rockets had shown interest, so it’s possible that Houston had reached out to Robinson prior to their agreements Sunday with Tate and Brown.

Nonetheless, their reported interest means a deal can’t be ruled out, especially with Robinson lingering on the free agent marketplace.

ESPN gives free agency projections for Sixers’ Alec Burks, Glenn Robinson III

Free agency projections have come out for Philadelphia 76ers wings Alec Burks and Glenn Robinson III.

[jwplayer DUqQzPy5-z6KDnl0B]

The 2020 free agency market in the NBA is going to be severely altered due to the league being hit hard financially due to the global pandemic. The league lost tons of money due to no games being played from March 11 until July 30 and no fans being allowed at the restart.

For the Philadelphia 76ers, they did not have much cap space to use anyway due to their free agency splurge in 2019, but they have two key members of their roster who will enter free agency in Alec Burks and Glenn Robinson III.

The Sixers acquired both players from the Golden State Warriors at the trade deadline and they played well in their short time in Philadelphia. Robinson III was, unfortunately, affected by an injury during the restart and he was able to play only two games and he was unable to play in the playoffs, but Burks fashioned himself a nice restart averaging 14.6 points and shooting 57.1% during the seeding games.

ESPN’s Bobby Marks has put out his free agency projections for the 2020 offseason in terms of how much money each free agent will get. He has Burks penciled in at $4-6 million and Robinson III projected at $2-4 million.

Burks recently just switched agents as he prepares for this uncertain offseason, but he should be able to use his strong bubble run to be able to get the most out of the upcoming free agency market. There is a chance that Philadelphia retains him, but they could also use his roster spot for somebody a bit cheaper like, say, D.J. Augustin for example.

Robinson III is in an unfortunate position after not being able to play much during the bubble due to his injury. He was ready for a much bigger role on the Sixers than he had before the season was suspended and he did score 15 points in the one full game he played against the Phoenix Suns. It will be interesting to see what happens with his situation because he can be a serviceable role player off Philadelphia’s bench. [lawrence-related id=38623,38620,38580]

Philadelphia 76ers 2019-20 season in review: Glenn Robinson III

We now take a look at the season for Philadelphia 76ers veteran Glenn Robinson III.

[jwplayer bKE2pMUe-z6KDnl0B]

Every team needs that guy off the bench who provides a little bit of hustle on both ends of the floor. That guy who understands his role and he plays it to the best of his ability.

The Philadelphia 76ers got a glimpse of that when they acquired Glenn Robinson III from the Golden State Warriors at the February trade deadline. Unfortunately, a slow start combined with injuries did not allow the Sixers to fully get a look at the veteran out of Michigan. He only played 14 games with the Sixers and he averaged 7.7 points and 3.1 rebounds while shooting 33.3% from deep.

2019-20 season averages

11.7 points

4.4 rebounds

1.5 assists

48.6% overall percentage

39.1% from deep

Robinson III really had a rough go at it when he first got to Philadelphia. He shot 40% from deep for the Warriors as he was one of their top contributors in what is a contract year for him and then he was moved to the Sixers and he was no longer a top option. He was coming off the bench and there was an adjustment period.

He began settling into his role a bit during the team’s west coast road trip and then the league went into the suspension due to the pandemic. He was then primed for a pretty big role for the team down in the bubble, but he suffered a muscle oblique strain in the second scrimmage game and he only played in two of the seeding games and he missed all of the playoffs.

Robinson III will have a decision to make when it comes to free agency. He had a strong season with the Warriors before coming to Philadelphia and he was getting ready to get into a groove again, but the mixture of the pandemic plus the injuries derailed him a little bit. There could be a role for him with the Sixers in 2020-21 and his familiarity with the roster should help him in the future. [lawrence-related id=37449,37446,37437]
