Ohio State football adds a defensive backs graduate assistant from Michigan State

Another addition to the coaching staff. Will this one help? #GoBucks

It’s coach poaching season and [autotag]Ohio State[/autotag] is taking a Michigan State coach and making him its own. In an announcement on Twitter, former Spartan defensive back graduate assistant [autotag]Gerren DuHart[/autotag] has joined the Buckeye staff in the same capacity.

DuHart is no stranger to Ohio. He played at [autotag]Wayne State[/autotag] before making the transition to coaching at his alma mater. He stayed there for two years coaching the defensive backs before making the move to East Lansing during the spring of 2021.

He left the Spartan program less than a week ago and it didn’t take long for Buckeye head coach [autotag]Ryan Day[/autotag] to add him to the program.

The Buckeye secondary really struggled this past season, so having a fresh voice on the coaching staff hopefully will help.

Michigan State football losing defensive assistant Gerren DuHart

Michigan State football is losing defensive assistant coach Gerren DuHart

Gerren DuHart has been a major contributor to Michigan State’s coaching staff, especially on the recruiting trail. DuHart is someone that many recruits mention as making a strong impact in their recruiting process.

DuHart has been a graduate assistant and assistant defensive backs coach with Michigan State, but his time in those roles appear to be coming to an end. DuHart took to Twitter to say goodbye to Spartan Nation. It is unclear what his next move is set to be.
