ESPN commentators set for Georgia versus Auburn

ESPN has set the announcers for the Georgia Bulldogs versus Auburn Tigers college football game including Kirk Herbstreit & Chris Fowler

The Bulldogs come into their first game in Athens as a team looking for an offensive identity. Georgia was quite impressive on the defensive side of the football in their 37-10 victory over the Arkansas Razorbacks in week one.

The ESPN commentators for the prime time game are set. Chris Fowler will do the play by play and former Ohio State quarterback Kirk Herbstreit will be an analyst alongside Fowler. Alison Williams will handle of the sideline reporting in a reduced capacity Stanford Stadium environment.

Prior to the contest, ESPN’s College Football GameDay will be hosted live from Athens, Georgia. The Georgia versus Auburn game is the only top ten match-up this week and is the first of the season. The game is crucial for both teams. The loser will face an uphill battle in the SEC.

The SEC has another quality match-up this week in the Alabama versus Texas A&M game.

Kirby Smart’s statement on George Floyd death, protests

Kirby Smart isn’t afraid to speak out on issues impacting society.

Georgia Bulldogs football coach Kirby Smart is not afraid to speak out on issues impacting society, but he typically prefers to stick to Georgia football.

Amid the peaceful protests, riots, and demonstrations following the tragic death of George Floyd, Smart felt that he couldn’t stay quiet.

Here’s the statement Smart released on the subject:

Smart’s statement is simple, yet powerful. He has a key role in the lives of numerous black men. Smart stepped outside of the comfort zone of football in order to make both his coaches and players feel at ease upon their return to Athens.

The stresses of racial prejudice, the coronavirus and economic uncertainty are weighing on America and other places throughout the world. How America and the rest of the world responds will help shape the future of society. With leaders like Kirby Smart, America can persevere, but change comes on an individual basis and in order to have a brighter future it will take a collective effort.

Smart additionally participated in a video message from the University of Georgia to student athletes.
