The Philadelphia Eagles have one of the best tight end duos in the NFL, and for a time, they had the guy recognized as the best in Zach Ertz.

Ertz is a supreme talent, but George Kittles and Travis Kelce appear to be on another level when it comes to their run after the catch prowess. Ertz is still a ‘made man’ amongst his peers and the respect was shown during a recent ranking of NFL tight ends by ESPN.com and several league executives, players, and coaches.

Kittles and Kelce landed the top spot, but Ertz got the not over Rob Gronkowski at No. 3.

“There’s a drop-off after Kittle and Kelce, but this guy is a championship-level player,” one AFC exec said. “He smokes us almost every time we play them. He doesn’t beat you deep, but he doesn’t need to because he’s so good with the intermediate stuff. I’d take him above almost everybody.”

Ertz has the most targets in the NFL over the past two seasons and his demise has been greatly exaggerated despite some suggesting the Eagles move on.

Ertz running mate, Dallas Goedert landed on the list as a player to watch, with some suggesting that he’s a better option at times.

Browns agree to deal with Austin Hooper that makes him NFL’s highest paid TE; How that impacts Zach Ertz

Browns agree with TE Austin Hooper on a free-agent deal

NFL free agency is underway with the legal tampering period and the Cleveland Browns just came out swinging, agreeing to a deal that makes Austin Hooper (Falcons) the highest-paid tight end in the NFL.

A two-time Pro Bowler, Hooper, 25, will play a key role in new head coach Kevin Stefanski’s two-tight end heavy system.

Paired with 2017 first-rounder David Njoku, the Browns tight end duo could rival the Eagles going forward.

Speaking of the Eagles, Hooper’s impending deal with have huge ramifications for Zach Ertz, who’s looking for a new deal.

Hunter Henry is currently the NFL’s highest-paid after the Chargers placed their franchise tag on the talented pass catcher per Over The Cap.

The 49ers are likely to extend George Kittle this offseason and Ertz will be monitoring the situation as he’s eligible for an extension himself.

The NFL’s leader for catches in a season by a tight end, Ertz could be looking for wide receiver money after resetting the Eagles record books over the past few seasons.

2 Eagles’ players named to the Pro Football Focus 2019 All-Pro Team

The Philadelphia Eagles Jason Kelce, Brandon Brooks named to PFF 2019 All-Pro Team

The Philadelphia Eagles have the best offensive line in football, so it only makes sense that they’d have guys land on All-Pro teams.

Pro Football Focus just announced their 2019 All-Pro team and the Eagles Jason Kelce and Brandon Brooks landed on the list.

C JASON KELCE, PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
Second Team: Ryan Jensen, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
In what may not have been the best year we have ever seen for centers, Philadelphia’s Jason Kelce was once again the best on display for most of the season. Kelce is one of the most athletic and mobile run-blocking centers in the NFL, and he comfortably owns the best PFF run-blocking grade at the position (82.4). He has allowed more pressure than is ideal this season (two sacks and 34 total pressures), but in a down season at the position, this is still enough to get the nod as our All-Pro.

RG BRANDON BROOKS, PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
Second Team: Zack Martin, Dallas Cowboys
A perennial top-five player at the position, Brandon Brooks put together a career year in 2019 for the Eagles, posting the best grade we have seen from him and his first season grade above 90.0. Brooks allowed just one sack and 19 total pressures across more than a thousand snaps for the Eagles and was a dominant force as a run blocker. Brooks has always been an underrated player, but this year he earned his spot on PFF’s All-Pro team.

In a recent list of the top-25 offensive linemen in football, three Eagles landed in the top-10, with Lane Johnson, Brandon Brooks, and Jason Peters all getting nods.
