Twitter is convinced Jets WR Garrett Wilson did this to troll Sean Payton

Twitter is convinced Jets WR Garrett Wilson did an in-game interview in a “Gilligan hat” and sunglasses to troll Broncos coach Sean Payton.

Last week, Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton listed four things he did not want to see players doing during the team’s preseason opener.

“I don’t want to see uniforms off after [starters are] done playing [with] sunglasses on and Gilligan hats on and interviews during the game,” Payton said ahead of the team’s clash with the Arizona Cardinals.

All of those things were done last summer while Nathaniel Hackett was serving as Denver’s head coach. Hackett, of course, is now an offensive coordinator for the New York Jets and he’s been ridiculed by Payton this offseason.

The Jets are being featured on Hard Knocks this year and the team’s reaction to Payton’s comments about Hackett made the first episode. At least one Jets player now appears to be trolling Payton during preseason.

During New York’s first preseason game, wide receiver Garrett Wilson did all four things Payton told his players not to do. Wilson took off his uniform, put on a “Gilligan hat” and sunglasses and gave an in-game interview.

Twitter is convinced the receiver did it just to troll Payton.

WATCH: C.J. Stroud throws absolute dime to Garrett Wilson for touchdown

C.J. Stroud hits Wilson right in stride. Look at this throw. #GoBucks

We’re starting to have a hard time keeping up with the offensive highlights Ohio State continues to show against Maryland, but we’re doing our best. The last one came from the arm of C.J. Stroud once again, his fourth touchdown of the game against the Terrapins.

With the Buckeyes already leading 35-10, they promptly took the first possession of the second half and marched right down the field into Maryland territory. Then, on 2nd and 5 from the 26-yard line, Stroud put a ball right in the breadbasket and on stride to receiver Garrett Wilson who had got a couple of steps of separation from the Terps defender.

Honestly, the throw could not have been any more perfect. Get a look at how accurate the pass is when targeting a 1:1 Wilson over the top of the defense.

Three Ohio State players in Mel Kiper’s early top 25 NFL prospects for 2022 draft

Mel Kiper is already on the prowl, looking at the top 25 NFL prospects for 2022. He has three Ohio State players listed early on.

If things hold true to form, Ohio State should have another bushel of players go in the 2022 NFL draft. This time though, rather than most of the Buckeyes going in the middle rounds like 2021, there are quite a few high-end prospects that could go on day one and day two. We’ve seen as many as six or seven OSU players projected across multiple draft experts’ sites in the first round for next April.

One of those experts is ESPN’s Mel Kiper, and he just released his top 25 players for the 2022 NFL draft (subscription required). And wouldn’t you know it, there are three Ohio State players among that elite crop. It’s some of the same names that you’ve seen across other mock drafts, but the order and inclusion are a little different.

Here’s what Kiper says.
