Wheel of Fortune contestant Will gave the greatest wrong answer ever

Alright, this might be the greatest wrong answer in Wheel of Fortune history.

Plenty of Wheel of Fortune contestants have gotten puzzles wrong (remember the NSFW answer?) on the long-running game show, but this one might take the cake.

During Monday night’s episode, contestant Will got his chance to solve a puzzle on the board for a phrase.

The real answer was “Give yourself a round of applause,” but Will found something even more wonderful in the puzzle.

His answer was, “Treat yourself a round of sausage.”

Of course, Will got the “wrong” buzzer as fellow contestant Kitina solved it an answer later. New show host Ryan Seacrest looked a bit bewildered by Will’s answer at first, but he eventually caved to how hilarious it was.

“Although, Will, I kind of like yours better,” Seacrest told Will, who at least looked pleased with himself for giving such an epic solution to the puzzle. “That sounds better than just clapping right now.”

Will didn’t solve the puzzle, but he won America’s laughter in the process.

Pablo Torre’s stellar Celebrity Family Feud comeback was an all-time great performance

Family Feud fans will always remember the name Pablo Torre.

When we think about the great performances in sports history, we don’t often enough think about the accomplishments of sportswriters.

Perhaps, however, that is because sports media personalities rarely achieve greatness quite at the level that Pablo Torre did. Torre, a former ESPN host and Sports Illustrated writer who now hosts the podcast Pablo Finds Out on Meadowlark Media, appeared on ABC’s Celebrity Family Feud.

He played alongside ESPN’s Mina Kimes, golfer Michelle Wie West, restaurateur David Chang, and author Chris Ying. Torre and his team faced off against a team led by John Legend and Chrissy Teigen.

Torre was tasked with anchoring the Fast Money segment and he did not disappoint.

After an uninspiring 54-point performance from Chang, it was up to Torre to climb out of the hole (per Awful Announcing):

“In fact, host Steve Harvey said it would take a Celebrity Family Feud record for a second contestant to reach the 200 points needed to win.”

So with a historic performance needed to earn $25,000 for their charity, the Southern Smoke Foundation, the sports media star simply did exactly what he needed to do — and he made it look easy.

He made history, or something like it, by notching 174 points and securing a victory. Torre also sarcastically thanked John Legend in the middle of Harvey totaling the score from the round, which was also very fun.

There are even t-shirts sold to celebrate this remarkable TV moment. Kudos to Torre on a job well done.

Vanna White delivered a very sweet farewell to Pat Sajak ahead of his final Wheel of Fortune episode

Vanna White gave a very moving farewell message to Pat Sajak ahead of his final Wheel of Fortune show.

With longtime Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak stepping away from his hosting duties, his longtime screen partner Vanna White delivered a very poignant farewell to the game show legend.

Sajak and White have been together on Wheel of Fortune for more than four decades, as the two are synonymous for the long-running game show and the televised format at large.

On the show’s YouTube page, White gave her official farewell to Sajak, and you can imagine it’s a pretty powerful expression of gratitude after the two game show icons have been working alongside each other for so long.

It’s pretty moving to watch this when you think about their cumulative legacies on the show.

Sajak’s final Wheel of Fortune episode airs Friday, with White slated to be right by his side for his final broadcast. Longtime television personality Ryan Seacrest is slated to take over for Sajak after he leaves the program.

A contestant’s bizarre Wheel of Fortune puzzle answer turned into a NSFW disaster

Yikes.

On Thursday’s Wheel of Fortune, contestant Tavares made a guess that nobody will ever forget … for all the wrong reasons.

While trying to solve a puzzle, Tavares dinged in with his buzzer to suggest the kinda-sorta NSFW answer was, we mean this seriously…

“Right in the butt.” Yikes.

As you can imagine, the answer was absolutely not “Right in the butt,” being that the first word only had four letters, and this is a family game show that comes on while people eat dinner.

The entire room was shocked at the guess, as longtime host Pat Sajak quickly rejected Tavares’ answer. The actual answer? “This is the best.”

We’re guessing Tavares probably wants this answer back in retrospect.

ACC makes appearance on ‘Jeopardy’

If you don’t get 5/5 then I have questions…

Although I’m not the resident game show expert at Fighting Irish Wire (that title belongs to Geoffrey Clark), I did participate in scholastic bowl one year of high school and am someone you want on your team on trivia night at the bar.

With that in mind, I enjoyed catching “Jeopardy!” yesterday as the schools of the ACC turned into a category. Personally I breezed through the category but thought it’d be fun for you to test your knowledge.

Below are the five questions from the ACC category on the Feb. 15, 2023 showing of “Jeopardy!” Try your luck at each answer below and then at the bottom check out if you were right.
