UFC 312 video: Gabriel Santos silences Australian crowd with slick Jack Jenkins submission

Gabriel Santos put forth an impressive showing in an otherwise lackluster UFC 312 prelims.

When UFC 312 needed a wakeup call, [autotag]Gabriel Santos[/autotag] dialed in a slick submission Saturday in Sydney – much to this dismay of the Australian faithful in attendance.

In the featured prelim at Qudos Bank Arena, Santos (12-2 MMA, 2-2 UFC) finished home country featherweight [autotag]Jack Jenkins[/autotag] with a slick rear-naked choke at 2:06 of Round 2.

The bout was entertaining for as long as it lasted. Jenkins (13-3 MMA, 3-2 UFC) stunned Santos with a head kick in Round 1, but nearly got stuck in a triangle choke seconds later. In Round 2, it was Santos who delivered a knockdown blow. The Brazilian fighter then worked his way to the back and secured the choke (and the victory).

With the victory, Santos extends his winning streak to two. Conversely, Jenkins moves to 1-2 in his most recent three outings.
