Bears release Thursday injury report, Justin Fields listed as full participant

Justin Fields was listed as a full participant on the #Bears’ Thursday injury report

The Chicago Bears released their second injury report ahead of their Week 15 game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday. The most notable change to the report was quarterback Justin Field’s status, which changed from did not practice on Wednesday due to illness but was upgraded to a full participant on Thursday.

Among the other Bears who were listed on the report as full participants were rookie defensive backs Jaquan Brisker and Kyler Gordon, wide receiver N’Keal Harry, and cornerback Kindle Vildor. The status of Chicago’s defensive backs is a good sign for their chances of deploying an effective defense against the Eagles’ dangerous air attack, and Harry’s involvement in practice could give Fields an edge when the Bears throw the ball.

Three Bears, receiver Chase Claypool, tight end Trevon Wesco, and running back David Montgomery were all listed as non-participants. Claypool is dealing with a knee injury while Wesco was listed as having an issue with his calf. Neither of the pass-catchers participated in practice on Wednesday, and their status for Sunday’s matchup is unclear. Montgomery was listed as dealing with an illness.

Offensive lineman Larry Borom was limited on Thursday after being listed as a non-participant on Wednesday with a knee injury. This change should create some positive momentum for the second-year lineman, who has started to find his stride as part of Chicago’s front-five this season.

All in all, the Bears are likely outmatched by the Eagles on paper regardless of their injured players’ designations. The team is reeling after a loss to their divisional rival Green Bay Packers and is in desperate need of a victory against a top-tier opponent after only winning three games to this point in the season.

Fields’ status as a full participant is a good sign, though, and the team will certainly be better equipped to take on Philadelphia with their starting quarterback under center.
