The child shot at the Camden vs. Pleasantville game has died of his wounds.

PLEASANTVILLE – A 10-year-old boy shot at a high school football game here died from his wounds Wednesday, authorities said.

The death of Micah Tennant led to murder charges against the accused shooter, 31-year-old Alvin Wyatt of Atlantic City, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.

Wyatt allegedly shot the boy during an attack on another Atlantic City man at Friday night’s playoff football game between Camden High School and Pleasantville High School.

The intended target, 27-year-old Ibn Abdullah, was wounded, while a bullet grazed the arm of a 15-year-old boy.

Micah’s death was announced about an hour before the two teams were to conclude their game at Linoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.

Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner expressed his agency’s “sincere condolences to the Tennant family on the tragic passing of Micah.”

“Words at this time seem so insufficient to portray the anger and outrage that our community feels regarding his loss,” Tyner said.

He said the Atlantic City boy’s “spirit will live on in so many people that he inspired.”

As soon as the boy’s death was announced, condolence messages appeared at the Facebook page of Micah’s mother, Angela Tennant.

“Prayers to you and the family, Queen,” posted CheQuai Strickland of Maple Shade. “I couldn’t fathom your pain and anguish during this time.”

“Prayers your way,” said Jessica Figueroa of Camden. “God knows this pain is unbearable.”

The shooting occurred around 8:30 p.m. during the football game’s third quarter.

The gunfire is believed to have resulted from a dispute with its origins in Atlantic City, police say.

A court record indicates Wyatt came to the game after being told Abdullah was in the Pleasantville bleachers.

Wyatt remains charged with two counts of attempted murder and multiple weapons offenses in connection with the shooting.

Weapons charges also have been filed against four men who fled the game and who are believed to be connected to the shooting, the prosecutor’s office said.

Abdullah, the shooting victim, also was charged when he was found in possession of an allegedly illegal weapon..

Camden-Pleasantville to finish game at Eagles stadium after shooting interrupted mathchup

After a shooting in the bleachers interrupted the Camden-Pleasantville football game, the matchup will finish at Lincoln Financial Field on Wednesday.

The Camden-Pleasantville high school football game, which was halted because of a shooting in the stands in the third quarter last Friday night, will be concluded at Lincoln Financial Field on Wednesday at 4 p.m., per a release from the NJSIAA.

The Central Jersey Group 2 semifinal was suspended with about 17 minutes remaining in the game.

“The NJSIAA would like to thank many of our member schools that offered their assistance, including the Black Horse Pike School District for its willingness to step in to host this game on such short notice and under difficult and unusual circumstances,” NJSIAA executive director Larry White said in a statement.

“It’s extremely unfortunate that a senselessly violent act has impacted this game, and there will certainly be a wide range of emotions along both sidelines. They’ll compete on a world-class stage, sending a clear message that violence will not win.”

Three fans were injured in the shooting, including a 10-year-old boy who was left in critical condition and died Wednesday. Six were charged in connection with the incident, including Alvin Wyatt, 31, who was charged with three counts of attempted murder.

A 16-year-old Texas high school football was shot at a party on Saturday night and died in the hospital, according to DallasNews.

Marquel Ellis Jr., a 16-year-old sophomore on the Allen (Texas) High School varsity and junior varsity football teams, was shot around 10 p.m.

Ellis’ mother, Jocelyn Maduagwu, told FOX 4 the boy had attended the party with his older sister. He was playing video games and listening to music, Maduagwu said.

Several people had been kicked out of the party. They later returned and fired into the house, police told NBCDFW.

Maduagwu said the people who were kicked out and fired the gun had been uninvited.

A 17-year-old was arrested Monday on one count of murder, according to Dallas News.

Police told NBCDFW the house is a property available for rental through an online marketplace, though the outlet did not specify which one.

Neighbors told NBCDFW there are often parties at the house.

A teenage neighbor heard nine or 10 shots go off, he told the outlet.

Ellis, who was initially declared dead by police at the home, was transported to the hospital where he later died, according to Dallas News.

He played wide receiver for Allen.

“His teammates loved him,” head coach Terry Gambill told Dallas News. “He loved his teammates, really just a good athlete, good person.”

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help Ellis’ family pay for funeral expenses. As of Monday at 6 p.m. CT, it had raised about $14,000.

Gunfire erupted at a New Jersey high school football game Friday night, resulting in multiple wounds to people in the stands.

In the third quarter of the Pleasantville vs. Camden High School (New Jersey), about six shots went off in the bleachers, according to the Press of Atlantic City.

Reports from different outlets including Press of Atlantic City and ABC6 stated “at least two” people were wounded. Mike Frankel of Jersey Sports Zone tweeted three people were shot, and all the victims were in the front few rows of the bleachers.

Frankel also tweeted that one of the victims was a young boy appearing to be 10 to 14 years old.

Another victim was a female, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

No players were injured in the shooting.

Camden had been leading 6-0 with about five minutes left in the third quarter when the shooting occurred, according to the Press of Atlantic City.

Fans and players from both teams ran from the field, according to the Inquirer.
