Watch: Flory Bidunga is dominant on both ends of the court in this highlight

Flory Bidunga shows off his elite athleticism.

Kansas basketball is getting a special player in Flory Bidunga, one who has some truly special and unique athleticism.

The five-star center, committed to the Jayhawks since August has the ability to control the paint on both ends of the court. Combine this with his understanding of the court and spacing and Bidunga is a match-up nightmare in the making for Kansas.

Bidunga showed that off this week for Kokomo High School (Kokomo, Indiana), first off with a block that was dominant and then finishing off the sequence with a dominant block.

(Nice court awareness from the teammate to assist off the backboard on that one).

Without lumbering, Nidunga moved up and down the court almost effortlessly. He made both plays seem rather ordinary which, for the five-star, is truly normal:

Just some outstanding athleticism and agility for the 6-foot-9, 210-pound center.

Bidunga is ranked the No. 1 center in the nation by ESPN and is a five-star recruit. He is the ninth-best player in the 2024 recruiting class.

Flory Bidunga to Auburn? The Tigers are in great shape according to latest forecast

It is decision day for the five-star center. How much of a chance does Auburn have at landing him?

Good morning, Tiger fans. Is a great day of recruiting news upon us?

Auburn target [autotag]Flory Bidunga[/autotag] is set to announce his commitment this evening and should feel great about its chances to land him according to two recruiting sites.

The five-star center is the best at his position for the 2024 cycle. If Auburn were to earn his commitment, it would be huge. However, that would be a secondary headline. If Bidunga chooses Auburn, he would do so over blue blood programs such as Kansas, Duke, and Michigan.

Does Auburn have a legitimate chance to make this happen? According to recruiting experts from both 247Sports and On3… absolutely.

On3’s Jamie Shaw shares that he is giving Auburn the nod after gathering intel ahead of Bidunga’s announcement. As for 247Sports, four writers submitted crystal ball predictions on Friday evening that favor Auburn. What makes this note interesting, is that three of those writers cover Duke for The Devil’s Den. Duke insider Adam Rowe gives Auburn high confidence, while the other writers have medium confidence.

Bidunga is the nation’s No. 4 overall player for the 2024 cycle and is the top center for the class. He is expected to announce his commitment during the Under Armour Elite 24 game on Saturday. Tipoff of the game is set for 7 p.m. CT and will be broadcasted live on ESPNU.

Five-star center Flory Bidunga sets commitment date

One of the best centers in the country is set to make his commitment this weekend and Auburn is a finalist.

[autotag]Flory Bidunga[/autotag] is one of the best players in the country and he is ready to make his commitment.

The five-star prospect is set to commit during halftime of the Under Armour Boys Elite 24 game on Saturday, Aug. 12. The game is set to start at 8 p.m. CT and will be on ESPNU.

He will be picking between Auburn, Duke, Kansas and Michigan, and while he has enjoyed the recruiting process he told Brandon Jenkins of 247Sports that he is ready to finish it.

“It is exciting,” Bidunga said. “These schools have been recruiting me for a while and it has been fine. It has been great to see the facilities but now I am trying to get this done so I can enjoy my senior year.”

Bidunga is originally from the Republic of Congo but currently lives in Kokomo, Indiana. He is the No. 4 overall player and No. 1 center in the 247Sports Composite Ranking. The 6-foot-8, 215-pounder is also the No. 1 player from Indiana.

He broke down each of his finalists with Jenkins and it should be no surprise that Bruce and [autotag]Steven Pearl[/autotag] are the reasons Auburn is a finalist for him.

“I love [autotag]Bruce Pearl[/autotag] and his son Steven,” Bidunga told Jenkins. “They have been there from the beginning to now. They kept going with me. It has been good so far with then.”

If Auburn can land Bidunga he would be the second five-star of their 2024 class, joining point guard [autotag]Tahaad Pettifort[/autotag] who is the No. 18 player and No. 2 point guard in the country.

Major Auburn target Flory Bidunga to commit this week

He is down to Auburn, Duke, Kansas and Michigan.

Five-star center [autotag]Flory Bidunga[/autotag] is one of the top recruits in the 2024 cycle and he is ready to make his commitment. The Republic of Congo native posted on social media Monday that it is “Decision Week.”

While he has not announced a specific day, he did reveal a final four of Auburn, Duke, Kansas and Michigan back in July.

Bidunga is the No. 4 overall player and No. 1 center in the 247Sports Composite Ranking. The 6-foot-8, 215-pounder is also the No. 1 player from Indiana.

He has officially visited each of his finalists and he spoke highly of Auburn during an interview with On3’s Joe Tipton back in May.

“I liked the facilities, the coach, the coaching staff, and the players. They were all great when I went there. That was exciting.”

However, ever since the Blue Devils offered him a scholarship on June 21 they have looked like the team to beat. He shut down his recruitment after visiting them and three crystal balls have been logged in their favor on 247Sports.

Five-star center Flory Bidunga includes Auburn in final group

Auburn is a finalist for the best center in the country.

Auburn basketball is a finalist for one of the best players in the country.

[autotag]Flory Bidunga[/autotag] is the No. 1 center in the nation and on Monday he announced a final four of Auburn, Kansas, Duke and Michigan.

Bidunga has officially visited each of his finalists but has not set a commitment date. Earlier this month he told 247Sports that his recruitment is nearing an end and he wants to make a decision pretty soon.

Bidunga is the No. 4 player and No. 1 center on the 247Sports composite. He is the No. 1 player in Indiana after coming to the United States from his home country of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Checking in at 6 feet, 8 inches and 215 pounds, he is Auburn’s top target in the 2024 recruiting cycle and someone they have heavily pursued since offering him a scholarship on July 5, 2022.

Michigan basketball makes top four for five-star center in 2024

Would be huge for #Michigan to get him in! #GoBlue

Michigan basketball is hoping to emerge from a topsy-turvy offseason with some good news. And there’s at least one big positive development on the recruiting trail.

After losing out on multiple transfers (though the Wolverines brought in three via the portal) and losing commit Pape Kante as he didn’t clear admissions, the maize and blue are looking to reload both via the portal and on the recruiting trail.

On Monday, the top center in the country, 2024 Kokomo (Ind.) Flory Bidunga, released his top four. Unlike any of the in-state schools, Michigan basketball made the cut along with Auburn, Duke, and Kansas.

Bidunga is the No. 4 player in the country, regardless of position. Given head coach Juwan Howard’s propensity for the center position, along with the recent success by Hunter Dickinson — who went from being a four-star to one of the top players in the country — it certainly gives the Wolverines some ammunition when it comes to securing the elite-level player.

Key Auburn target Flory Bidunga is nearing a decision

Auburn is in the mix for one of the best players in the country.

Five-star center [autotag]Flory Bidunga[/autotag] is one of Auburn’s top targets in the 2024 recruiting class and he is nearing a decision.

“I’m coming towards the end,” Bidunga told Dushawn London of 247Sports. “I want to make a decision pretty soon. It’s been pretty good time being recruited by all these schools and seeing that they offered me shows they see me in their program. I feel like I’m close to making my decision.”

He added that Auburn, Duke, Michigan, Indiana, Cincinnati and Kansas are recruiting him hard.

Bidunga spoke about what stands out from each school recruiting him and had great things to say about [autotag]Bruce Pearl[/autotag].

“BP, that’s what I call Bruce Pearl. He’s a good coach, and good guy who really cares about his players.”

Bidunga is the No. 4 overall player and No. 1 center in the 247Sports Composite ranking. He is also the No. 1 player in Indiana after coming to the United States from his home country of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

He took an official visit to Auburn back on Nov. 11, 2022, and is one of just six centers Auburn has offered in the 2024 recruiting class. With [autotag]Johni Broome[/autotag] expected to head to the NBA after this season he would be immediately contending for playing time should he pick Auburn.

Five-star center Flory Bidunga speaks highly of Auburn

Auburn is one of the top schools that Bidunga is considering attending.

Five-star center [autotag]Flory Bidunga[/autotag] has been a highly pursued target by the Auburn Tigers for a while.

Bidunga is the No. 3 ranked player in the class of 2024 as well as the No. one-ranked center and the No. one-ranked player in the state of Indiana according to On3.

“I liked the facilities, the coach, the coaching staff, and the players,” Bidunga said in an interview with Joe Tipton of On3. “They were all great when I went there. That was exciting.”

Some of the other programs that Bidunga is being pursued by include the Michigan Wolverines, the Michigan State Spartans, the Kentucky Wildcats, and the Florida Gators.

The recruiting process of Bidunga will be competitive, but landing the top-rated center would go a long way toward helping Auburn make another deep NCAA Tournament run.

Michigan State basketball: Who’s next in the 2024 recruiting class

MSU already has 2 commits in their 2024 recruiting class, check out who could be next:

Michigan State picked up their second commitment of the 2024 recruiting class on Thursday, picking up Ohio big man Jesse McCulloch. McCulloch joins fellow 4-star Kur Teng, a wing from Massachusetts.

McCulloch and Teng are two solid prospects to start with in 2024, but now it is time for Izzo and company to round out their recruiting class.

The Spartans almost surely will be picking up a 3rd player in the class, but I would not be surprised if they want another 4-man class in 2024.

Positionally, I do not expect the Spartans to pursue a point guard, being well off at that position. The center spot is also a 50/50 whether Izzo pursues, but adding another wing appears to be the direction MSU for sure will go in.

Check out some prospects on MSU’s board as the 2024 class unfolds:

Florida basketball hosting No. 4 prospect in 2024 class on official visit

The Gators are hosting one of the top players in the class of 2024, five-star center Flory Bidunga, on an official visit this weekend.

The Florida Gators will host one of the top recruits in the class of 2024, Kokomo (Indiana) five-star center [autotag]Flory Bidunga[/autotag], over New Year’s weekend, according to 247Sports.

Bidunga, who stands at 6-feet-9-inches tall and weighs 215 pounds, is the No. 4 overall prospect on 247Sports’ individual ranking system and holds the same spot on the 247Sports composite rankings. He moved to the United States from the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2021 and quickly shot up the charts.

The Gators offered him a scholarship back in September, and Bidunga claimed that Florida was one of the top schools he was considering. He also holds offers from Auburn, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan State and Wake Forest.

“Florida is one of the top schools in the United States not only for basketball but for education, too,” Bidunga said. “If I go there, I will play but I will get a good education, too.”

He could be a candidate for reclassification as well. Rumors have suggested as much, but Bidunga says that he has not made a decision yet. He’s focused on high school right now and developing a strong relationship with college staffs.

His main point of contact with the Orange and Blue is associate head coach Carlin Hartman, who visited him in Indiana before the start of the season.
