The Florida Gators (18-2, 5-2 SEC) pay a visit to the Tennessee Volunteers (17-4, 4-4) for Saturday-matinee Southeastern Conference action. The opening tip in the top-10 tilt from Thompson-Boling Arena will be at noon ET (ESPN). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college basketball odds around the Florida vs. Tennessee odds, and make our expert college basketball picks and predictions.

Florida heads into this showdown ranked No. 6 in the USA TODAY Sports Men’s Basketball Coaches Poll; Tennessee is No. 8.

The Gators have been off since last Saturday (Jan. 25), when they covered an 11½-point spread in an impressive 89-59 victory over Georgia. UF shot 53.1% from the field while holding the Bulldogs to a 35.6% mark. For the season, Florida has held foes to a 43% effective field-goal percentage; that ranks third in the nation.

The Volunteers, who lost at UF Jan. 7, dropped a Tuesday game against Kentucky (78-73) as 10½-point favorites and have been defeated in 3 of their last 4. UT was buried by 30 (73-43) in that Jan. 7 game in Gainesville but since 2019 is 6-0 vs. the Gators when playing on home hardwood.

Florida at Tennessee picks and predictions

Prediction

Tennessee 77, Florida 72

Moneyline

These are two statistically similar teams. The respective paces — faster-than-average for UF and molasses-slow for UT — drive scoring averages on a sliding scale.

But Florida has not played a particularly strong schedule, especially with regard to the offenses it has faced. The venue looks large here, and the VOLUNTEERS (-220) are a slight lean, Holding out for a -190 tag here may figure to be the best side or non-play.

Against the spread

The last 6 series meetings in Knoxville have seen UT go 5-1 ATS.

Look for Tennessee to get more key looks at the rim. But in a relatively slow game, the 4-and-a-hook makes for enough of an obstacle. The lean is on the Volunteers, but holding out for -3.5 or better is the prudent choice.

Over/Under

The Jan. 7 meeting hit the Under but was tabbed at 152.5 points, so this figure could well be too low.

Both sides have tremendous — and somewhat suspect, perhaps — 3-point defense numbers. Both teams get good looks near the rim and both are adept on the offensive glass. Fading the perimeter defense somewhat, the OVER 143.5 (-110) is the value side here.

The Florida Gators (3-2, 1-1 SEC) take on the Tennessee Volunteers (4-1, 1-1) at Neyland Stadium Saturday. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the Florida vs. Tennessee odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Gators chomped down on Central Florida with a 24-13 victory as 1-point dogs last week. QB Graham Mertz was 19-for-23 for 179 yards, 1 TD and 0 INTs. Six rushers combined for 130 yards on the ground against UCF. Florida has won 3 of 4 after a bad loss to Miami to open the year.

Tennessee, No. 9, in the US LBM Coaches Poll, laid an egg against Arkansas in a 19-14 defeat. The Vols were 14-point favorites and ended their 4-game win and cover streak to open the campaign. RB Dylan Sampson was fantastic on the ground with 22 rushes for 140 yards and 2 scores. QB Nico Iamaleava left a lot to be desired through the air, though, going 17-for-29 for 158 yards.

Florida at Tennessee picks and predictions

Prediction

Tennessee 28, Florida 14

Moneyline

These teams met in Gainesville last year, and the Gators won 29-16 as 4.5-point dogs. Mertz was 19-for-24 for 166 yards, 1 TD and 0 INTs, and they largely relied on the ground game. I look for a similar formula, but for the Vols to prevail.

Forego the ML and take MONTRELL JOHNSON OVER 54.5 RUSHING YARDS (-115). He had 54 last week, but this cashes in 3 of the other 4 games this season — including against Miami. He went for 11-106-1 in that game.

Against the spread

I like FLORIDA +14.5 (-110) here as they have been gathering momentum. They’ve won 3 of 4 and covered in the last 2. Meanwhile, Tennessee has looked vulnerable.

Over/Under

This total is too high for me. As I mentioned, the Vols have been vulnerable. They’ve scored 14 and 25 in the last 2 weeks. Now those games were on the road, but I don’t see too much of a correction with their home cooking. Both teams are 3-2 O/U with each cashing Unders in their last game.

Take the UNDER 56.5 (-110).

Florida at Tennessee odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Florida at Tennessee odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Florida Gators (2-1) will take on the Tennessee Volunteers (3-0) on Saturday at Neyland Stadium. Kickoff is set to take place at 3:30 p.m. ET (CBS). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Florida vs. Tennessee odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Gators have had plenty of success against the Volunteers over the years, but can they continue that trend this week?  QB Anthony Richardson has yet to throw a passing touchdown this season and the passing game as a whole has been inconsistent.

On the other side of the field, the Volunteers have to love what they’ve seen from QB Hendon Hooker in the first 3 weeks of the season. The 5th-year senior has thrown for 844 yards and 6 TDs with no interceptions.

Florida enters Saturday’s SEC matchup as the No. 22 ranked team while Tennessee is the No. 12 ranked team in the AFCA Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Florida at Tennessee picks and predictions

Prediction

Tennessee 34, Florida 21

Money line

Go ahead and PASS on the money line in this game with Tennessee’s odds giving no value in return. There’s a chance Florida can pull off the upset on the road, but I’m not comfortable taking them straight up either.

Against the spread

The Volunteers have looked like the better overall team thus far despite beating Akron and Ball State in 2 of their 3 wins. Give me TENNESSEE -10.5 (-112) as I believe Richardson’s struggles in the passing game continue on the road in a competitive SEC environment.

The Gators are 0-8 ATS in their last 8 road games, 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games against a team with a winning record, and are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 conference games. Meanwhile, the home team is 5-2 ATS in the previous 7 meetings and the Volunteers are 3-0 ATS to begin the season.

Over/Under

All of the trends seem to be pointing toward the Over in this game, but I’m siding with UNDER 62.5 (-112). The passing game of the Gators gives me concern on whether or not they can help hit the Over, and the Under has hit in 4 of the last 5 meetings between these 2 programs.

Florida at Tennessee odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Wednesday’s Florida at Tennessee odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Florida Gators (12-6, 3-3 SEC) pay a visit to the No. 20 Tennessee Volunteers (13-5, 4-3) Wednesday evening. The contest at Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville, Tenn., is scheduled for a 6 p.m. ET tip. Below, we look at the Florida vs. Tennessee odds and lines and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

Rankings courtesy of the Ferris Mowers Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Florida is coming off an odd 61-42 win over Vanderbilt Saturday and then a 70-54 loss at Ole Miss Monday. Against Vandy, the Gators outshot the Commodores 38.3% to 28.9%. UF had won three straight games, though against three weaker SEC squads (Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, South Carolina) before falling Monday. Florida has not defeated what would be considered a top-40-caliber opponent since Nov. 24 (71-68 win over Ohio State).

Tennessee went 2-0 last week, bouncing back after a horrendous 107-79 loss to Kentucky Jan. 15. The Wildcats shot 67.9% from the floor in that game; UT held Vandy and LSU to a combined 37.9% last week. The Volunteers are 10-0 at home; in the last calendar year, they have lost just once at Thompson-Boling Arena (Feb. 20 vs. UK).

Florida at Tennessee odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Tennessee 74, Florida 62

Money line

PASS: the lean is on the home five, but the price makes for too high a bar to yield any value.

Against the spread

The Gators are 1-6 ATS in their last seven road games. The Volunteers are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games as a favorite. The home team is 14-3 ATS in the last 17 meetings. The favorite is 10-3 ATS in the last 13 meetings.

And the home favorite is a small-to-moderate lean in this contest. The Vols’ performance on home hardwood has been impressive, and Wednesday they get a UF squad on short rest after another tough road tilt.

TAKE TENNESSEE -9.5 (-122).

Over/Under

Defense likely carries the day in this one, but the total reflects that – and to too great a degree. Peg both sides to get some theft-and-transition baskets to make up for a lack of triples. Florida does well to get to the line, and Tennessee may get its charity tosses in clutch-and-grab time late.

The lean is a small one but its one on the OVER 133.5 (-107).

Florida at Tennessee: Three things to know

  1. Florida QB Kyle Trask is currently the Heisman favorite with 34 touchdowns to just three interceptions on the season. In eight games, he has already thrown for 2,810 yards and is completing 71.4% of his passes.
  2. Florida TE Kyle Pitts could be a top-10 draft pick, as he is the nation’s top tight end. He has played in just six games, but already has 11 touchdown receptions and is averaging nearly 18 yards per reception.
  3. Tennessee has not only lost five straight games to SEC opponents, but the Volunteers failed to cover the spread in each of those games.

Florida at Tennesee: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Florida 45, Tennessee 21

Money line (ML)

Florida is a huge money line favorite Saturday afternoon, but there just isn’t enough value on either side. The Gators should have no problem scoring at will. PASS on the money line in favor of better value on the point spread.

Against the spread (ATS)

FLORIDA -17.5 (-110) is the right play in this SEC matchup. Its only loss of the season came in a one-score game against Texas A&M earlier this season. The Gators have proven to be one of the best teams in the SEC and their offense might be the best in school history.

They’re averaging over 43 points per game and should come close to that number again today. Take Florida to cover the 17.5-point spread as Tennessee just doesn’t have the offensive firepower to keep up.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 62.5 (-110) should hit at Neyland Stadium Saturday as Florida will do most of the heavy lifting on offense. If Tennessee can score a few touchdowns, this feels like a lock to hit.

The Over has hit in seven of the last 10 games for Florida as the Gators finally have an elite pocket passer. Take the over here and root for a ton of points to be scored in Knoxville.
