Three takeaways from Oklahoma’s 85-54 win against Florida A&M in Norman

Three takeaways from Oklahoma’s bounce back XX-XX win over Florida A&M Saturday afternoon at the Lloyd Noble Center.

Oklahoma got themselves back in the win column on Saturday afternoon with a blowout 85-54 win over winless Florida A&M.

The Sooners were heavy favorites to win this game on their home floor and they did exactly what they needed to do making this game a runaway in the second half.

Kur Kuath had a breakout offensive performance with 14 points along with several other Oklahoma players getting in on the scoring action. This was a team effort win offensively.

Defensively, the first half wasn’t bad but wasn’t fantastic either. The second half was much improved and was a big reason why the Sooners were able to pull away by such a wide margin after leading by only 14 points at halftime.

The win gets Oklahoma up to 3-1 on the young season. Here are three takeaways so this bounce back victory for the Sooners:

Oklahoma basketball’s Brady Manek hits 200th three in Sooners’ career

Oklahoma’s Brady Manek hit his 200th career three-pointer in Saturday’s game against Florida A&M.

Oklahoma is currently hosting Florida A&M at home looking to bounce back from their rough road loss to Xavier on Wednesday night.

The Sooners got off to a fast start jumping out to a 16-6 lead heading into the first break. That was helped out by a three-pointer from senior Brady Manek.

The triple was the 200th of Manek’s illustrious career, making him just the sixth Oklahoma player to reach that mark and the tallest ever to do so.

Out of Harrah, Oklahoma, Manek has been a big part of the Sooner program dating all the way back to his freshman year alongside Trae Young. His season is off to a good start, and this milestone is a mark of how impactful he’s been in his time in Norman.

The Sooners currently lead the Rattlers in the first half at the Lloyd Noble Center.
