Looking for Packers-related fireworks on this Fourth of July?

Let Jordan Love and Christian Watson provide the goods with this dynamic scoring play from Green Bay’s primetime loss to the Philadelphia Eagles last season:

This was just one quick burst of inspiration from Love, who is going into his first year as the starter in Green Bay, and Watson, the breakout rookie star who will be Love’s No. 1 receiver in 2023. On a staple passing play in the Matt LaFleur offense, Love popped up from a run fake and hit Watson in stride over the middle, allowing the rookie to showcase his incredible speed in the open field en route to a 63-yard touchdown.

The score was the Packers’ long scoring play from scrimmage  in 2022.

Can the quarterback-receiver pair repeat the fireworks many more times this season? The Packers need Love and Watson to be big-play creators in the first year of the post-Aaron Rodgers era.

Here are more of Watson’s top plays from last season:

Happy Independence Day from everyone at Packers Wire.

Remembering when Chiefs ran out of fireworks in playoff comeback vs. Texans

We hope you don’t run out of fireworks this #4thofjuly like the #Chiefs did that one time against the #Texans 😏

What better way to celebrate the 4th of July than looking back at the Kansas City Chiefs’ best firework-related story? Of course, that story comes from the first leg of the team’s Super Bowl LIV run, during a game where they overcame a 24-point deficit to win by 20 points.

The Chiefs faced off against the Houston Texans in the AFC’s divisional round at Arrowhead Stadium. Let’s just say that things got off to a rocky start for the good guys. With just over 10 minutes remaining in the second quarter, the Texans had already scored 24 unanswered points on Kansas City. The situation was looking bleak, but the team ultimately never got down on themselves. They never gave up, which went on to become a theme during the postseason.

It wasn’t until a Houston fake punt went awry that the Chiefs would find their way back into the game.

The Patrick Mahomes-led offense would put up 28 unanswered points before halftime to take the lead over the Texans. That was only the tip of the iceberg, though. Mahomes and company would put up 23 more points before the game was over, leading to a 51-31 victory over Houston.

That wasn’t the only thing all of that scoring led to. During the course of the Chiefs’ antics, the team scored so many points that they ran out of fireworks. The team posted the following message on their video board and throughout the stadium toward the end of the 4th quarter:

“Chiefs fans, we are sorry to report but, due to your support and the Chiefs continually finding the endzone, we have run out of fireworks. Please direct all of your complaints to your nearest fans first booth.”

This marked the first time since 2017 that an NFL team had run out of fireworks. That year it happened to the Philadelphia Eagles when they scored 51 points on the Denver Broncos. They also went on to win the Super Bowl that year.

While the Chiefs haven’t scored as many points at home since this game, they also haven’t had any issues with their firework inventory. That’s good news, as the team looks to start off the 2021 NFL season with a bang.

From fireworks to dumpster fires, Dodgers fans celebrate in the streets

The scenes in Los Angeles following the Dodgers first World Series win since 1988 ranged from peaceful to fiery as fans hit the streets well into the night.

These videos of a billion fireworks being shot off in Los Angeles are absolutely wild

WOW.

The city of Los Angeles, like many cities across the country, cancelled all the annual fireworks displays that usually light up the sky on the 4th of July. With coronavirus numbers spiking just about everywhere, getting large groups of people together just isn’t the smart thing to do.

So did that mean there weren’t any fireworks shot off in the city last night? No, of course not.

Instead of professional firework shows there were about a billion (give or take) illegal fireworks shot into the sky by normal people who were looking to have some fun.

And it was absolutely bananas. Check out these videos:

I mean, that looks like it was CGI’d or something. But nope, it was real and it was spectacular.

It was illegal, too, but whatever. It’s the 4th of July and we’ve been through some stuff the past four months or so.

Hopefully this puts an end to fireworks in LA for a while, though, because they have been going off every night for like the past month and we are over the nightly noises!

But last night was cool.

Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster gives new meaning to ‘It’s lit’

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver showed off his impressive haul of fireworks on his Instagram page.

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster lights it up both on-field and off.

Smith-Schuster kicked off the Fourth of July in style with the purchase of thousands of dollars in fireworks.

Hopefully he learned a thing or two from the Jason Pierre-Paul incident. No doubt the video the receiver posted on Instagram made head coach Mike Tomlin clinch his cross necklace a little tighter.

Steelers Wire wishes you and your’s a happy and safe Fourth of July!
