WWE Raw results: Brock laughs, Trish confesses, and a bargain breaks down

Find out what happened as The Judgment Day battled Matt Riddle, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in the main event.

When you’re a WWE legend, sometimes you just do whatever you want and you don’t have to gives your reasons why until after the fact. That’s an idea that’s relevant to two of the big subplots for tonight’s episode of WWE Raw from North Little Rock.

First, there’s Brock Lesnar. Cody Rhodes actually thought he was going to tag up to face the Bloodline together, and why not? Lesnar certainly has no love for Roman Reigns, and besides, this was Cowboy Brock. The guy with the big hat and the bigger smile. Surely, Cody could trust him.

As it turned out, not so much. Rhodes shifted naturally from disappointment (and pain) to seeking some payback, and challenged Lesnar to a match at Backlash. Tonight should give us an inkling about whether he’s going to accept.

It was ever so slightly less shocking when Trish Stratus assaulted Becky Lynch after they lost the tag team titles together — or rather, Stratus lost the belts that didn’t even belong to her — because, well, Trish has done this before. But whether The Man really thought Stratus was her ride or die or not, what’s done is done, and now Trish is supposedly going to tell the WWE Universe why she did what she did.

Oh, and Becky says she won’t be there, but we shall see.

Also on tap for tonight, Austin Theory takes on Bobby Lashley in a battle of old enemies, and The Miz faces Seth Rollins as he continues to try to wash the memory of losing to Snoop Dogg away. Sorry, Miz, not going to happen as long as video exists.

You can catch all this and more starting at 8 p.m. ET on USA, when we’ll also be watching and updating this post with live WWE Raw results as they happen. See you then.

WWE Raw results: Cody challenges Brock, KO fights on one leg but not alone

Live WWE Raw results for April 10, 2023 in Seattle, with Cody Rhodes addressing the fallout from his assault by Brock Lesnar last week.

Poor Cody Rhodes. All he wanted to do was to keep fighting those mean jerks in the Bloodline, and it seemed like he even had a strong new friend to help him do it last week on Raw.

Then Brock Lesnar viciously attacked him, proving that even though there was a happy go lucky Cowboy Brock under his mean jerk exterior, there was, in fact, another mean jerk underneath Cowboy Brock. Who knew?

Since Roman Reigns doesn’t seem inclined to give Rhodes the rematch he wants, Cody now has to probably do a program with Brock. The good news is that Lesnar doesn’t work every week. The bad news is that, well, when you get in the ring with Lesnar, you have to get in the ring with Lesnar. Suplex City and all that.

Anyway, the fallout from that attack is supposed to go down tonight in Seattle, whatever that turns out to be.

You may also be interested to know that there’s a tag team title match slated for this episode of Raw. Becky Lynch and Lita were two-thirds of a winning team at WrestleMania 39, but now they’ve got to settle in and start defending their championship. They’ll take the first stab at that tonight against Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez, who should at the very least compete against them in a straightforward and respectful manner.

Earlier today, WWE also promoted this episode as the in-ring return of Matt Riddle against The Miz, but that match is no longer mentioned in the preview on the company’s website, so we’re assuming it got scrapped for some reason.

That leaves a lot of time to fill with other stuff, so we’ll just have to wait and see what else is in store. Tune in to USA at 8 p.m. ET to watch, or pop back in here as we Wrestle Junkies keep you up to date with the latest WWE Raw results as they take place.

WWE Raw results in 90 seconds:

  • Rey Mysterio gets into another argument with Dominik, who declines a WrestleMania rematch in favor of watching Finn Balor battle his dad
  • Finn Balor def. Rey Mysterio by pinfall after a shot from a steel chain by Dominik
  • Cathy Kelley is talking to Alpha Academy backstage when the scene shifts to Lita, who has been attacked by someone
  • Video is played of Brock Lesnar’s attack on Cody Rhodes last week on Raw
  • Becky Lynch says she has her suspicions about who may have attacked Lita and will slap the head off them when she finds out for sure; she’s also drafting Trish Stratus to help defend the tag team titles tonight
  • Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez def. Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus by pinfall to become the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, and Stratus attacks Lynch after the match
  • Paul Heyman doesn’t want to talk about Lesnar, but would like to discuss Kevin Owens and how he’s in trouble against Solo Sikoa tonight with no allies or friends
  • Stratus refuses a question backstage from Byron Saxton about her actions
  • Bayley tells her Damage CTRL teammates that she told Adam Pearce they need to stick together in the WWE Draft, but Dakota Kai and IYO SKY want the opportunity for a title shot against Bianca Belair she’s trying to get for herself
  • Bobby Lashley vs. Bronson Reed ends in a double countout
  • Cody Rhodes addresses the Brock Lesnar situation by challenging him to a match at Backlash
  • The Usos def. Alpha Academy by pinfall
  • IYO SKY def. Michin and Piper Niven to earn a shot at Bianca Belair’s Raw Women’s Championship
  • Kevin Owens tells Saxton that even if it’s not wise to do it, he always leads with his emotions, and his heart says to beat the crap out of Solo Sikoa
  • Solo Sikoa def. Kevin Owens by the pinfall, though Sami Zayn and Matt Riddle arrive to help fight off Sikoa and The Usos after the bell

Finn Balor shares nasty gash received during WrestleMania Hell in a Cell match

Triple H said Balor needed staples in the ring but doctors were able to get the bleeding stopped.

It’s not called Hell in a Cell for nothing. Finn Balor learned that the hard way during his WrestleMania 39 showdown Sunday night against Edge, suffering a mid-match gash in his head that forced the action to come to a halt for several minutes while he received medical attention.

The injury came when Edge threw a ladder at Balor, in a spot that appeared to be no more dangerous than numerous others in a bout that saw various objects used as weapons. But as Paul “Triple H” Levesque noted during the post-event press conference, “sometimes metal appliances that aren’t designed to be thrown at you can be unforgiving.”

The ladder cut Balor on the top of his head, with Levesque confirming that “he received a few staples in the ring” that managed to stop the bleeding and allow him to continue with the match. It was difficult to tell what happened in the moment, both in the arena and on the broadcast, and Levesque mentioned Balor’s face paint — he worked the match in his alter ego as “The Demon” — made it tough for the WWE staff to initially tell how much he was bleeding.

Balor shared a pic of his wound on Twitter later, with the caption “Just a flesh wound”.

Unfortunately, Balor’s toughness wasn’t repaid with a victory, as Edge was able to put him down for a three count thanks to a Conchairto. But WWE fans will be relieved to know he was OK, especially given the uncertainty while the match was playing out.

WrestleMania 39 results, night 2: Cody Rhodes’ story remains unfinished in dramatic main event

Full WWE WrestleMania 39 night 2 results, including the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes.

INGLEWOOD, Calif. — Night 1 of WrestleMania 39 had its share of thrills and emotional moments, particularly in championship victories by Rhea Ripley and Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. Now it’s time to see what WWE can do for an encore.

The main event of night 2 is one that’s been locked in since January, when Cody Rhodes won the Royal Rumble. He’s been laser focused on winning the world championship his legendary father never did since his return to WWE last year, flawlessly playing the role of the company’s top babyface for months.

Standing in his way is only the man who’s had an iron grip on both of the WWE men’s world titles for some time, Roman Reigns. While Reigns has let Paul Heyman do much of the talking during the run-up to WrestleMania 39, he remains the unquestioned top dog of the company, and there will be intense interest to see if he leaves SoFi Stadium with gold still in his possession.

Another champion looking to avoid being dethroned is Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair. She’ll be competing against a foe she knows well in Asuka … or at least one she did know well, as Asuka has acted increasingly unpredictable in recent weeks, and figures to be Belair’s stiffest test since she won her title at WrestleMania last year.

Two other matches on the night 2 card figure to up the ante on pure spectacle. The first bout of the night is expected to be the one pitting Brock Lesnar against an impossibly large opponent, the Nigerian Giant Omos. And Edge may feel confident going into a Hell in a Cell match given all he’s done in his legendary career, but he’s facing a rarely seen (and very successful) foe in “The Demon” persona of Finn Balor.

Wrestling Junkie will be in the house again at SoFi Stadium recapping all the action as WrestleMania 39 reaches its crescendo. You can watch starting at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on Peacock in the U.S., or on WWE Network internationally. But if you’re not able to watch, check this post for results and links to full match details all throughout the night.

WrestleMania 39 results: Edge slays The Demon inside Hell in a Cell

Edge and “The Demon” Finn Balor entered Hell in a Cell at WrestleMania 39. Get full details on what went down.

INGLEWOOD, Calif. — There was little doubt these two men would pull out all the stops with their entrances for this one, and they do not disappoint. Edge has Slayer playing before his normal music hit and graphics that proclaims him as Edge Brood. Finn Balor, as expected, reverts to his old music as The Demon, complete with purple smoke billowing from handheld cannisters as he walks down the ramp.

After the bell rings, both men look for and use weapons, with Balor getting the better of their exchange and beating Edge outside along the cage. Back in the ring, Edge knocks The Demon off the apron and into the steel.

With a kendo stick in hand, Edge batters Balor and tosses him into the cage. He grabs more kendo sticks to trap Balor in the corner of the cell, leaping from the apron for a dropkick.

Going under the ring again, Edge gets the fans to cheer as he locates and pulls out a table. He returns for Balor but ends up getting beaten down and hurled into the steel steps.

Balor’s chops get the fans to whooo, but he walks into an ambush by Edge that includes an Impaler DDT. Balor responds with a Sling Blade, and his dropkick sends Edge all the way back out into the cage. A second dropkick on the outside knocks Edge back through the table that had been sitting out there.

Chairs come into play, with Edge able to boot Balor in the face and hit the Killswitch when they return to the ring. An inside cradle almost wins it for Balor, and he also kicks out at one when Edge responds.

The crowd responds again as Edge hauls out a ladder, clocking The Demon by throwing it into Edge’s face. The referee stops the action because Balor is bleeding, busted open from that ladder shot. The fans aren’t happy about that and the broadcast won’t show how badly Balor is bleeding.

Edge takes the time to look for even more weapons, but The Demon catches him off guard by roaring back into action. Edge goes for a spear but hits the ladder set up in the corner, and Balor covers for two.

There’s a Sling Blade from Balor, and he climbs up top for the Coup de Grace. He covers but Edge is able to kick out at two.

The Demon decides to climb the ladder still up in one corner, but Edge intercepts him with a kendo stick. Edge leaps and slams Balor’s face into the mat with an Impaler, but this time it’s The Demon’s turn to kick out at two.

Edge looks for and finds another table and brings it into the ring. He sets it up but turns right into kendo stick shots. Balor puts Edge on the table and wears him off with chair shots. The Demon climbs again but decides the turnbuckles aren’t high enough, and heads higher on the cage. A Coup de Grace is on the way, but Edge moves and Balor goes through on his own.

A spear connects for Edge, and an incredulous look crosses his face when The Demon kicks out at two. He grabs a kendo stick for more shots, and more from a chair too.

A roar goes up when the fans realize Edge is pondering a Con-chair-to, and he hits it before flipping Balor over. The three count is made, and Edge is triumphant.

WrestleMania 39: Start time, matches, predictions, how to watch

WrestleMania 39 is less than a week away, and we get you set to watch all of the action in Los Angeles.

For pro wrestling fans, there’s no better time of year than WrestleMania. Even people who wouldn’t call WWE their favorite variety of the art form get excited for the company’s biggest show of the year, descending on whatever city is hosting.

In this case of WrestleMania 39, it’s Los Angeles, where SoFi Stadium will play host to two nights of the best WWE has to offer. Historically, that’s often meant a number of older stars who may only wrestle once or twice a year.

Not so much this time, where with the exception of John Cena (and yes, including him in that category makes you wonder where time has gone) and a couple of all-time women’s division greats, the focus is very much on the talent and stories WWE has around on a regular basis.

The headlining attraction will see Cody Rhodes attempt to knock Roman Reigns off his perch atop WWE. The emotional high point of the event may come when Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens take on The Usos for their tag team titles in the culmination of one of wrestling’s grandest longform narratives. And there are plenty of other title bouts and matches with compelling hooks up and down the card.

Will that be enough to make it feel special if WWE plays it pretty straightforward throughout? The guess is that the answer will be yes, as the venue and crowd will ensure the event feels larger than life. Here’s a rundown on everything you need to know as WrestleMania Goes Hollywood.

WWE WrestleMania 39

  • Date: April 1-2, 2023
  • Location: SoFi Stadium, Los Angeles
  • Start time: 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT both nights
  • How to watch: On Peacock in the U.S., and on WWE Network in the rest of the world
  • Matches announced: 13

WWE Raw results: KO pays for his insistence on fighting alone

Live WWE Raw results for March 13, 2023 from Providence, with Solo Sikoa trying to take out Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes facing LA Knight.

Things haven’t gone so well for the Bloodline as they attempt to get rid of the pests named Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, who continue to hassle them despite being clear (on KO’s part, anyway) that they aren’t going to join forces and work together. But maybe the right person just hasn’t been unleashed yet, and Solo Sikoa might be that person tonight on WWE Raw in Providence.

Not only is Sikoa the most physically intimidating member of the Bloodline other than the Tribal Chief himself, he’s also the least likely to question orders. That means he’ll be right at home trying to take out Owens during a Street Fight, though those kinds of matches are also no DQ, so … sorry, just thinking out loud.

Roman Reigns’ WrestleMania opponent will also be in action this week. Cody Rhodes has drifted more and more into the direct path of the Bloodline, so he’ll want to watch his back while also staying focused on defeating LA Knight.

Two more matches either confirmed or expected for WrestleMania should take another step forward this week. Brock Lesnar has already given his blessing to a showdown with Omos, but we’ll actually see them in the same ring on Raw. And the same should be true of Finn Balor and Edge after the latter’s challenge, so maybe they’ll decide to make a Mania moment official as well.

With three additional matches being promoted, it’s safe to say this episode of Raw is loaded up. That’s good news if you decide to tune in tonight at 8 p.m. on USA to bear witness to all of it, but even if you can’t, that’s what we’ll be doing tonight at that time so we can bring you live WWE Results as they take place. ‘Cause that’s how we do.

WWE Raw results in 90 seconds:

  • Edge and Finn Balor agree to Hell in a Cell at WrestleMania
  • Dominik Mysterio and Damian Priest def. Johnny Gargano and Dexter Lumis by pinfall
  • Cathy Kelley wants to know if The Miz would consider a WrestleMania co-host, but they’re distracted by Damage CTRL beating the crap out of Trish Stratus backstage
  • Omos and Brock Lesnar are in the same ring, at the same time, where Brock decides that yes, Omos is very big
  • Cody Rhodes def. LA Knight by pinfall …
  • … and gets some mic time for another passionate promo about how personal his WrestleMania quest is
  • How does Seth Rollins feel about getting KOed by Logan Paul? Better after he gets and accepts a challenge from Baron Corbin
  • Bronson Reed def. Elias by pinfall
  • Chad Gable continues searching for Otis, while Becky Lynch and Lita are worried about Trish
  • Kevin Owens wishes Sami Zayn the best but doesn’t need or want help form him or Rhodes
  • We relive the John Cena-Austin Theory segment from last week’s Raw
  • The Street Profits tease Austin Theory about that Cena promo, but he fires back nicely and ends up challenging Angelo Dawkins to a match
  • Austin Theory def. Angelo Dawkins by pinfall
  • Paul Heyman says Rhodes making this personal to Roman Reigns is a mistake he’ll regret, and taunts Cody to acknowledge his Tribal Chief in person next week on Raw
  • Rey Mysterio gets another visit from Dominik Mysterio, who challenges him to a WrestleMania match; Rey still refuses
  • Seth Rollins def. Baron Corbin by pinfall
  • Mustafa Ali wants Gable to be more positive, but he’s not smiling when he finds Otis posing it up with MMM
  • Bianca Belair def. Chelsea Green by pinfall but gets a dose of Asuka mind games afterward
  • Solo Sikoa def. Kevin Owens by pinfall in a Street Fight thanks to assistance from The Usos

Opening Bell: WrestleMania callouts continue, Winnipeg welcomes AEW

Get set for the week in WWE and AEW with Opening Bell: quick previews of Raw, SmackDown, Dynamite and Rampage.

Welcome to the Opening Bell, where we round up what’s been announced for WWE (Raw and SmackDown) and AEW (Dynamite and Rampage) programming for the week we’ve just begun.

WWE Raw preview – Monday, March 13, Amica Mutual Pavilion, Providence, RI

Eight matches are set for WrestleMania 39, but guess what? That’s not enough to fill up two days of action from SoFi Stadium.

Raw is going to help with that, it appears. Edge wants Finn Balor to face him man to man so they can settle things between them once and for all. Three guesses how this is likely to end, and the first two don’t count. So, uh, one guess, that is.

Brock Lesnar has (somewhat surprisingly) already accepted a WrestleMania meeting with Omos. What we haven’t seen yet is the two men in the same ring so we can all go, “Hey, Omos is way taller than Brock, wow!” We’ll get that opportunity on Raw.

Here’s what else to expect this Monday on USA:

AEW Dynamite preview – Wednesday, March 15, Canada Life Centre, Winnipeg

You may have heard that Candian pro wrestling fans are pretty great. You may have also heard that AEW Dynamite does well when it visits a city for the first time. Both of those things are true, and both are relevant this week when AEW makes its debut in Winnipeg.

The company will try to repay the sure to be live crowd with a big match starring two of its favorite sons. Kenny Omega and The Elite will battle Chris Jericho and the Jericho Appreciation Society and current titleholders House of Black in a triple threat match for the AEW World Trios Championship.

Orange Cassidy is also done defending his All-Atlantic Championship … because it’s now the AEW International Championship. Jeff Jarrett will attempt to ensure that his reign ends as soon as it begins on Dynamite.

Here’s everything else AEW is promoting for Winnipeg:

  • Hangman Adam Page and the Dark Order (including Canada’s own Stu Grayson) will do the trios thing too against Blackpool Combat Club
  • TBS Champion Jade Cargill will accept an open challenge from any Canadian opponent
  • MJF will have his re-bar mitzvah celebration
  • We’ll hear from The Outcasts, which is what Saraya, Toni Storm and Ruby Soho are now calling themselves
  • QTV will make its debut

WWE SmackDown preview – Friday, March 17, T-Mobile Center, Kansas City, MO

One match wasn’t enough to determine who Gunther will face in an Intercontinental Championship defense at WrestleMania. So this week’s SmackDown will attempt to settle that issue, with Sheamus and Drew McIntyre battling for the opportunity.

The two longtime rivals turned friends may be back to their old status quo now after both pinned opponents at the exact same time last week (that was the first match we referred to above). If one can defeat the other man to man, they’ll move on to the title match in L.A. … but we have a feeling there might be more hijinks involved.

AEW Rampage preview – Friday, March 17, Canada Life Centre, Winnipeg (recorded March 15)

It’s a holiday edition of sorts for Rampage this week, with the broadcast taking place on St. Patrick’s Day. Even though it’s being pre-taped Wednesday, AEW does an excellent job of celebrating whatever is going on when Rampage actually airs (like it did on NBA All-Star weekend, for example), so it’s no surprise this is being billed as St. Patrick’s Day Slam.

While we know AEW will play up that theme to the hilt, we don’t know yet what matches are booked for Friday night. As is often the case, keep an eye on both the company’s social media accounts and this week’s Dynamite to get more insight.
