Wisconsin misses out on 2022 DL Felix Hixon after making his top 5

Wisconsin is hot on the recruiting trail right now, though they just missed on a DL that had them in his top schools

Well, Wisconsin’s string of receiving a commitment from every recruit that attended an official visit has ended.

The program is still red-hot in the class of 2022, now with 11 total commits in the class and the No. 29-ranked class in the country.

But earlier today they missed on three-star DL Felix Hixon, a player that included the Badgers in his top 5 just a few days ago.

Earlier today, Hixon committed to play for Shane Beamer and the South Carolina Gamecocks.

Hixon had dueling crystal ball predictions between South Carolina and Virginia. Although Wisconsin received an official visit and was included in his top 5, the sentiment was the Badgers weren’t the frontrunner to land a commitment.

Focus now turns to the rest of the class of 2022, most notably the top in-state talent, as the Badgers look to round out their class and continue their rise in the national ranking.

The Badgers landed in yet another top schools list for an intriguing 2022 prospect. Georgia native Felix Hixon had Wisconsin in his top ten this morning via Twitter:

The 2022 three-star (per 247Sports) DT also had in-state powerhouse Georgia, Georgia Tech, and Illinois amongst his list of top schools.

As a junior at Jackson High School, the 6-foot-3 Hixon earned All-Region and All-State honors.

Tennessee offers 2022 defensive line prospect

The Vols are looking to add to defensive tackle depth with this prospect.

Tennessee’s coaching staff has been recruiting the state of Georgia looking for defensive linemen.

Tennessee has extended an offer to 2022 defensive tackle Felix Hixon from Jackson, Georgia.

The Vols’ provided Hixon his first Power Five scholarship offer.

Hixon currently holds offers from Liberty, Akron, Bowling Green and East Carolina. The 6-foot-4, 285-pound interior defensive lineman does not yet hold any ratings from the 247Sports Composite.

The Vols currently have one player committed to its 2022 football recruiting class, in 3-star defensive end Jimmy Scott from New York.
