Snoop Dogg is FaZe Clan’s latest member

The legendary rapper is getting into esports.

FaZe Clan welcomes a budding esports star by the name of Snoop Dogg into its ranks.

Yes, Snoop is now part of FaZe Clan’s active roster and will serve on its board of directors after the company goes public later in 2022. For those of you unaware, Snoop is semi-active on Twitch streaming when he’s not busy playing Super Bowl halftime shows. So he has more knowledge of gaming influencers and major esports organizations than you might expect.

“It only makes sense to partner with FaZe Clan as both a team member and on the Board of Directors,” Snoop said in a press release. “The youth identifies with their brand and that’s something my son Cordell knew, which is why he brought us together.”

Snoop will also work on community outreach programs with FaZe Clan, supporting youth initiatives via charitable activities. FaZe Clan chief strategy officer Kai Henry says bringing Snoop on only makes sense.

“The organic relationship between Faze and Snoop has been building for years now, so we are thrilled to officially welcome Faze Snoop to the family,” Henry said. “As the original internet kid and first-generation gamer, Snoop has always understood the cultural connection between music, lifestyle and gaming.”

FaZe Clan is known for interesting promotions, including a Batman crossover comic last fall.

Batman gets into esports as DC partners with FaZe Clan for new comic book

Who knew the Caped Crusader’s ELO was so high?

Holy colorful computer chairs, Batman! DC Comics is collaborating with FaZe Clan on a limited edition comic book where several content creators will transform into superheroes.

The first issue of this collaboration features Batman, Robin, Nightwing and Batwoman teaming up with FaZe Clan to fight The Joker, Mr. Freeze, and The Riddler. At least, that’s what we can glean from the cover art, anyway.

“DC is excited to partner with FaZe Clan to share this custom Batman story with their amazing gaming fans,” Daniel Cherry III, general manager at DC Comics, said via Esports Insider. “This partnership is a great opportunity to invite even more fans into the iconic DC universe.”

Check out the teaser for this collaboration for yourself below.

“The limited-edition comic will feature popular FaZe Clan members like Banks, Apex, Temperrr, Rain, Adapt, Rug and Blaze in Super Hero form,” DC Comics said on its official blog. “And this is just the beginning. There’s even more FaZe Clan and Batman coming in Batman Month that fans won’t want to miss, including limited-edition Batman and FaZe Clan merchandise like esports jerseys, tees, hoodies and more.”

The comic will be out on Sept. 24 for those that dig these sorts of crossovers.

Bronny James makes first cover of Sports Illustrated with FaZe Clan

Bronny James has made his first appearance on the cover of Sports Illustrated as he teams up with FaZe Clan.

Bronny James, LeBron James’ son, has made his first appearance on the cover of Sports Illustrated magazine.

James will feature on the cover of the July issue, appearing alongside members of the popular e-sports team, FaZe Clan.

James joined FaZe Clan in August, making him the first basketball player still in high school to join the roster. Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons is also a member of the team.

The cover sees James and Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray playing a video game holding a PlayStation controller, while FaZe members Swagg, Rug, Temperrr and NICKMERCS watch with various facial expressions.

Here’s a look at Bronny’s full cover alongside LeBron’s first appearance in 2002:

Bronny has dedicated plenty of time to the world of e-sports prior to joining FaZe, and his interest continues to mount.

LeBron is aware of Bronny’s commitment to gaming, and FaZe Banks, a founder of FaZe, shared an encounter he had with LeBron, via Rohan Nadkarni of Sports Illustrated:

“And if there was any question as to whether LeBron is aware how much time his son invests in video games, Banks says he “dapped up” the worldwide megastar when he bumped into him on a night out in L.A. earlier this year.”

Bronny’s first cover comes as an e-sports athlete, but he has more coming beyond the gaming world as he grows up.

LeBron reacted to the cover on his Instagram:

Sixers star Ben Simmons, Bronny James Jr. join FaZe gaming clan

Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons and LeBron James’ son Bronny James Jr. are joining the FaZe clan.

Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons was not able to join his teammates in the NBA Playoffs after he had to undergo surgery on his left knee. However, during his downtime and now that it is the offseason, he is having some fun with the other hobby that he loves.

Simmons is joining the popular esports organization, the FaZe Clan. Simmons is a guy who definitely enjoys his video games whether it’s Call of Duty or FIFA, or whatever. He definitely will make time for it so why not do it competitively?

Not only that, but the Sixers superstar are also being joined by LeBron James’ son, Bronny James Jr.

During the time away when the NBA was in the middle of a league hiatus, Simmons and James Jr. joined a lot of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare tournaments hosted by SLAM magazine so this is not surprising. It will be interesting to see if Simmons can grow his stardom off the floor and now that he is joined by James Jr., it will be one of the more star-studded groups in esports. Bronny James joins FaZe Clan as an e-sports athlete

Bronny James has NBA aspirations but he’s already going professional as a gamer, joining the lauded FaZe Clan.

Much like everything these days, the landscape for young athletes is changing rapidly. With California passing a bill last year to effectively change amateurism and let school-aged athletes profit off of their name and likeness, Bronny James is in prime position to take advantage of such rules. It looks like, at least in terms of the world of e-sports, Bronny already is.

On Sunday, the professional e-sports organization and team FaZe Clan announced they had added Bronny James to their already elite roster of e-sports athletes. Bronny is far from the first hooper to join them, but he’s the first one who is still in high school to join them, joining NBAers Ben Simmons and Meyers Leonard as members of the FaZe Clan.

Bronny has gone head to head against elite gamers quite a bit, particularly during the early days of the pandemic. He competed in a Call of Duty tournament presented by SLAM Magazine, which featured pros form the NBA and e-sports.
