Two future Tennessee baseball players contribute in Farragut’s series opening win versus Science Hill.

Two future Tennessee baseball players made contributions for Farragut High School in its victory in game No. 1 of TSSAA state sectionals on Wednesday. The contest took place in Farragut, Tennessee.

Farragut defeated Science Hill High School, 9-4, to open a best-of-three series.

Center fielder Brennon Seigler went 2-for-4 for Farragut. He recorded one stolen base.

Stratton Scott pitched one inning of scoreless relief for Farragut. He recoded the final three outs of the contest, and did not allow a run, hit or walk.

Farragut will next play on Thursday in game No. 2 of the series. First pitch is slated for 4 p.m. EDT. If Farragut wins, the Admirals will return to the Tennessee state tournament next week.

If Science Hill wins on Thursday, game No. 3 will begin approximately 30 minutes following the conclusion of game No. 2.

Former Vol Geoff Courtney completes first spring as Farragut’s football head coach

Farragut High School concluded spring football practices on Tuesday under first-year head coach and former Vol Geoff Courtney. The Admirals’ Blue-Grey Game was held at Bill Clabo Field in Farragut, Tennessee.

Courtney is Farragut’s 14th head coach in program history.

He replaced his father, Eddie Courtney, who retired in March after 28 years as Farragut’s head coach. Eddie Courtney won 204 games and one state championship in 2016 during his head coaching career.

Geoff Courtney played at Farragut from 2002-05 and earned All-Region 2-5A honors.

He played wide receiver and holder for the Vols from 2007-09 after redshirting in 2006.

Tennessee softball commit Elsa Morrison hits home run in Farragut’s victory against Central.

2025 Tennessee softball commit Elsa Morrison hit a home run for Farragut High School (26-10) in its 4-0 victory over Central High School on Monday. The contest took place in Tennessee’s Region 2-4A Tournament semifinals.

Morrison went 1-for-3, recording one home run, one run and one RBI for Farragut.

Farragut will play at Halls High School in a Region 2-4A championship game on Wednesday. Both schools will advance to Friday’s state sectional round.

Morrison committed to the Lady Vols in Oct. 2023.

The 2023 Tennessee Gatorade Player of the Year switched positions from catcher to shortstop.

She is a two-sport athlete, playing softball and volleyball.

Two future Tennessee baseball players contributed in Farragut High School winning a Region 2-4A Tournament championship.

Center fielder Brennon Seigler went 2-for-4 for Farragut in the Admirals’, 21-2, victory against Oak Ridge on Saturday at John Heatherly Field in Farragut, Tennessee.

Seigler is a 2024 Tennessee signee. He signed with the Vols in Dec. 2020.

He recorded two runs, one walk and one stolen base for Farragut against Oak Ridge.

Tennessee signee Stratton Scott pitched 1.1 innings of scoreless relief for Farragut. He allowed one hit and one walk, while recording one strikeout. Scott totaled 25 pitches, including 13 strikes.

Scott will be a third generation athlete for the Vols. His father, Benson Scott, played on Tennessee’s 1998 national championship football team. Stratton’s grandfather, Bobby Scott, was a former Tennessee quarterback and also played in the NFL.

2025 Tennessee softball commitment Elsa Morrison went 2-for-2 for Farragut High School (Farragut, Tennessee) in its, 14-4, victory over Maryville (Maryville, Tennessee) on Thursday.

The contest took place in the District 4-4A Tournament championship game at John Sevier Middle School in Maryville, Tennessee.

Morrison hit a two-run home run. She recorded three RBIs and two runs for the Lady Admirals, the tournament’s No. 3 seed. Farragut scored nine runs in the sixth inning for a run-rule decision.

Morrison committed to the Lady Vols in Oct. 2023.

2024 Tennessee signee Stratton Scott was the winning pitcher for Farragut High School (Farragut, Tennessee) in its, 11-0, victory against Maryville (Maryville, Tennessee) High School on Monday. The contest took place in the District 4-4A championship game at John Heatherly Field in Farragut.

Scott combined with Braylon Hall and Michael Delph to pitch a no-hitter against Maryville. Scott pitched three innings in relief. He allowed one walk and recorded five strikeouts.

Scott will be a third generation student-athlete at Tennessee after signing with the Vols in Nov. 2023.

Scott’s grandfather, Bobby Scott, played quarterback for the Vols and in the National Football League. The 2024 prospect’s father, Benson Scott, played on Tennessee’s BCS national championship football team in 1998.

Vols’ commit Colton Denton hits three-run home run in district tournament

Tennessee baseball commit Colton Denton hits a three-run home run in district tournament.

No. 1 seed Farragut High School (Farragut, Tennessee) defeated No. 4 seed Hardin Valley Academy (Knoxville, Tennessee), 16-3, Thursday in the second round of the District 4-4A Tournament at John Heatherly Field.

Colton Denton, a 2025 catching prospect and Tennessee commitment, went 1-for-1 for Hardin Valley. He hit a three-run home run in the third inning, accounting for all of Hardin Valley’s runs.

Farragut center fielder Brennon Seigler, a 2024 signee for the Vols, went 0-for-2 and recorded one run.

Farragut and Hardin Valley played for the TSSAA Class 4A state championship in 2023, with the Admirals prevailing to win a second consecutive class 4A title.

2025 Tennessee softball commit Elsa Morrison went 2-for-3 for Farragut High School (Farragut, Tennessee) in its, 7-0, victory over Grace Christiaan Academy (Knoxville, Tennessee) at Bellamy Field in Farragut.

She recorded three runs, two stolen bases and one RBI against the Rams in a non-district game.

Farragut has won eight of its last nine games.

Morrison committed to the Lady Vols in October as a catching prospect and is now playing shortstop for Farragut (18-9).

The 2023 Tennessee Gatorade Player of the Year, Morrison has recorded a .565 batting average, 13 home runs and 33 RBIs this season.

Morrison hit a school record 23 home runs as a sophomore last season.

Former Vol Geoff Courtney named head coach at Farragut.

Former Vol Geoff Courtney was named head football coach at Farragut High School in Farragut, Tennessee on Friday.

Courtney is Farragut’s 14th head coach in program history.

He replaces his father, Eddie Courtney, who retired in March after 28 years as the Admirals’ head coach. Eddie Courtney won 204 games during his head coaching career.

Geoff Courtney played at Farragut from 2002-05 and earned All-Region 2-5A honors.

After high school, he played for the Vols from 2007-09 after redshirting in 2006. He was a wide receiver and holder for Tennessee, and was a member of the SEC All-Academic Team in 2007.

After his career at Tennessee, Geoff Courtney returned to Farragut to join his father’s coaching staff. He was as an assistant coach for the Admirals from 2010-23, serving as a defensive backs coach before being promoted to offensive coordinator.

Geoff Courtney served as Farragut’s interim head coach when his father underwent cancer treatment in 2020.

Vols, Lady Vols to participate in Hoops for Hope

Tennessee men’s and women’s basketball teams to participate in Hoops for Hope.

Tennessee’s men’s and women’s basketball teams will participate in an annual Hoops for Hope on Saturday.

The event is slated for 11 a.m. EDT at Farragut High School’s Lynn E. Sexton Gymnasium in Farragut, Tennessee. Hoops for Hope will benefit the Down Syndrome Awareness Group of East Tennessee.

The Vols and Lady Vols’ basketball teams will arrive at approximately 10:30 a.m. EDT. Student-athletes will play basketball with children and adults with Down syndrome.

The event was started by Farragut High School student Trey Sexton as his project to become an Eagle Scout in 2008.

Sexton left Tennessee to attend college the following year and the event continued with his family’s support.

Hoops for Hope was not held from 2020-21 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
