Former Farragut and Texas A&M infielder transfers within the SEC.

The college baseball season ended on Monday with Tennessee defeating Texas A&M in the College World Series Finals.

Since the contest, Texas A&M utility player Jett Johnston entered the NCAA transfer portal. He announced his commitment to Auburn on Sunday.

“New beginnings,” Johnston said. “Blessed, excited and ready to get to work!! Fired up to be an Auburn Tiger.”

Johnston went to Texas A&M from Farragut High School in Farragut, Tennessee.

Johnston was a starting third baseman when Farragut won consecutive state titles in Tennessee from 2022-23. He appeared in 13 games, including three starts, as a freshman in 2024 at Texas A&M, recording two RBIs and five runs scored.

Tennessee baseball signee Stratton Scott pitches combined one-hitter for Farragut.

Tennessee baseball signee Stratton Scott (5-0) pitched a combined one-hit shutout Wednesday for Farragut High School. Farragut defeated Siegel, 6-1, in the second-round of the TSSAA Class 4A state tournament in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Scott pitched 6.1 innings and did not allow a hit entering the sixth inning. He recorded six strikeouts in the contest before being relieved by Braxton Lewis, who recorded the final two outs.

Farragut (38-5) extended its win streak to 21 games and will next play on Thursday against Beech High School. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m. EDT.

Scott will be a third generation student-athlete at Tennessee after signing with the Vols in Nov. 2023.

Scott’s grandfather, Bobby Scott, played quarterback for the Vols and in the National Football League. The 2024 prospect’s father, Benson Scott, played on Tennessee’s BCS national championship football team in 1998.

Farragut High School opened TSSAA Class 4A state baseball tournament play with an 11-5 victory over Beech High School (Hendersonville, Tennessee) Tuesday in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

2024 Tennessee baseball signee Brennon Seigler went 2-for-3. He recorded two runs and one walk for Farragut. Farragut is attempting to win a third consecutive Class 4A state championship in Tennessee.

Seigler, a center fielder, is a four-year starter for the Admirals.

He committed to the Vols and head coach Tony Vitello as a high school freshman in Dec. 2020.

Farragut advances in the winner’s bracket of the tournament. The Admirals will next play on Wednesday against tournament co-host Siegel. First pitch is slated for 1:30 p.m. EDT.

2025 in-state prospect commits to Tennessee softball.

2025 catcher prospect Elsa Morrison announced a commitment to Tennessee softball and head coach Karen Weekly.

“Oh Rocky Top!,” Morrison announced. “I’m going to be a Lady Vol.”

Morrison is from Farragut High School in Farragut, Tennessee. She played at Carmel High School in Carmel, Indiana before transferring to Farragut.

Morrison earned 2022-23 Tennessee Gatorade Player of the Year honors, helping Farragut advance to the Class 4A state tournament.

The 2025 prospect recorded a .617 batting average, 23 home runs, 16 doubles, 71 RBIs, 52 runs, 51 walks, a 1.543 slugging percentage and a .757 on-base percentage last season.

She allowed four stolen bases in 11 attempts at catcher for Farragut in 2023.

Farragut High School (Farragut, Tennessee) defeated Hardin Valley Academy (Knoxville, Tennessee), 6-0, Friday in the TSSAA Class 4A state championship game in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Tennessee 2024 outfield commit Brennon Seigler went 1-for-2, recording two RBIs, one double and one sacrifice fly.

Seigler’s sacrifice fly provided Farragut a 3-0 lead in the first inning. He also hit a RBI double in the fifth inning.

In four state tournament games in 2023, Seigler went 5-for-13, recording six RBIs.

Farragut (36-8) won its second consecutive Class 4A state championship and its 12th in school history.

2023 pitcher Ashton Sulack and 2024 pitcher Stratton Scott are also future Vols with Farragut.

Farragut (35-8) will next play Hardin Valley Academy (Knoxville, Tennessee) Friday in the state championship game at Middle Tennessee State’s Reese Smith Jr. Field.

First pitch is slated for 8 p.m. EDT.

Hardin Valley Academy (34-6), the District 4-4A regular-season and postseason tournament champion, advanced to the championship game by sweeping Collierville High School (Collierville, Tennessee) Thursday.

Hardin Valley Academy advanced to the championship game through the loser’s bracket.

Hardin Valley Academy defeated Farragut in three of four meetings this season.

Tennessee 2024 outfield commit Brennon Seigler recorded one RBI for Farragut. He was 1-for-3 versus Clarksville.

Farragut (34-8) will next play Stewarts Creek High School (Smyrna, Tennessee) Thursday at 3 p.m. EDT.

The winner between Farragut and Stewarts Creek will advance to Friday’s state championship game. Farragut would have to lose twice for elimination from the state championship tournament.

Seigler was 2-for-4, recording three RBIs in Farragut’s tournament opener. Farragut defeated Independence High School (Thompson’s Station, Tennessee), 7-4.

A pair of Tennessee baseball commits led Farragut High School to a five-inning 12-0 win versus Maryville High School in Farragut, Tennessee on Monday.

Stratton Scott pitched a two-hit shutout for Farragut. He pitched five innings, allowing two hits and four walks, while recording seven strikeouts.

Scott is the grandson of former Tennessee quarterback Bobby Scott.

Center fielder Brennon Seigler went 3-for-3, recording one home run, one double, two runs and one RBI for Farragut.

Seigler and Scott are two of three Farragut players who have committed to play for the Vols. Senior left-handed pitcher Ashton Sulack committed to Tennessee on April 14.

Tennessee commit Ashton Sulack pitched a shutout for Farragut High School (Farragut, Tennessee) Wednesday.

Sulack pitched six innings in a 7-0 victory against Bearden High School (Knoxville, Tennessee) at John Heatherly Field at the Ballpark at Farragut.

He allowed four hits, all singles, and posted 11 strikeouts against the Bulldogs.

Sulack (4-1) was relieved by Cole Draper, who pitched the seventh inning.

Sulack avenged his lone loss of the 2023 campaign after Bearden defeated Farragut, 2-0, earlier this season.

The Tennessee commit has surrendered 11 hits and 14 walks, while recording 39 strikeouts in 26 innings this season.

Sulack will join Tennessee’s program under head coach Tony Vitello and pitching coach Frank Anderson.

The 2024 season will be the seventh for Tennessee under Vitello.

Avery Strickland commits to Lady Vols

Avery Strickland commits to the Lady Vols.

Avery Strickland announced her commitment to Tennessee on Tuesday.

The 5-foot-10 guard played at Pittsburgh last season. She appeared in 30 games for the Panthers, including 11 starts, while averaging 6.2 points, 1.7 rebounds, 0.9 assists and 20.1 minutes per contest.

The Panthers were 10-20 (3-15 ACC) during the 2022-23 season and were eliminated by Clemson in the first-round of the ACC Tournament.

Strickland originally committed to play for West Virginia before playing at Pittsburgh.

Strickland went to Pittsburgh after playing at Farragut High School in Farragut, Tennessee.

She was a four-year starter at Farragut. Strickland averaged 17.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.5 steals per game during her senior season at Farragut.
