Watch: Fan distracts Rickie Fowler mid-swing at 2024 Players – and he did not let it slide

Get ’em, Rickie.

This week hasn’t been too kind to 2015 Players Championship winner Rickie Fowler.

After making the cut on the number (1 under) Saturday morning when the second round finally finished, Fowler posted a third-round 4-over 76 and now sits at 3 over for the tournament, dead last of players to make the weekend.

On Saturday at TPC Sawgrass, Fowler made the turn with an even-par 36 but struggled on the back and eventually shot 4-over 40. His back-nine scorecard included a double-bogey seven on the par-5 16th, the easiest hole on the golf course.

And he didn’t get off to the strongest of starts as a fan interrupted Fowler during his tee shot.

And he did not let it slide.

He pointed directly at the fan and asked him what he was doing.

This is an all-time clip from Fowler.

Saints fans, teammates, and media analysts can’t get enough of Bryan Bresee’s spin move

Saints fans, teammates, and media analysts can’t get enough of Bryan Bresee’s spin move against the Texans | @southexclusives

New Orleans Saints rookie defensive tackle Bryan Bresee has been steadily developing throughout training camp and the preseason. He’s impressed early on and showed why he was deserving of a first-round pick. Against the Texans, Bresee made everyone take notice of what could be his signature move.

Bresee used his spin move to get into the backfield on two plays that resulted in sacks. Bresee didn’t receive credit for either takedown, but it looked like he could have received half a sack on either play. Credit or no credit, blocking a Bryan Bresee spin move only one time is a challenge many would fail.

The spin move isn’t new to the NFL, but it isn’t exactly something you see from many defensive tackles — especially rookies like Bresee. The technique was popularized by legendary pass rusher Dwight Freeney, and many edge rushers have tried to learn from him over the years. But Bresee outweighs Freeney by nearly 40 pounds and lines up head-over-guard, not out on the edge.

And people can’t get enough of it. Saints fans, Bresee’s veteran teammates, and media analysts who have seen it all are raving about his spin move on social media. See for yourself:

WATCH: Trent McDuffie signed autographs for fans at Chiefs camp

Trent McDuffie’s gentle interaction with a young fan at training camp was a heartwarming moment after the #Chiefs’ Wednesday practice.

Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Trent McDuffie became a fan-favorite after his breakout rookie season in 2022. His tenacious play in the Chiefs’ secondary was a key reason for Kansas City’s defensive success in their run to Super Bowl LVII.

At training camp in St. Joseph, Missouri, McDuffie continued endearing himself to the Chiefs’ faithful after practice on Wednesday, signing autographs for fans in attendance. The good folks at Kansas City Sports Network got a video of his gentle interaction with a young supporter that will warm the hearts of all who watch.

For all of the aggression McDuffie has shown in practice against Kansas City’s up-and-coming receiving corps, he is remarkably kind and patient when he steps off the gridiron.

This meet and greet with a young fan may seem trivial on the surface, but seeing an athlete like McDuffie make time for those who show up to support the Chiefs through the dog days of summer at training camp is quietly refreshing.

Anonymous Chiefs fan threw shade at Cowboys as Dallas’ training camp kicked off

One #Chiefs fan in Oxnard, California took matters into their own hands as the #Cowboys training camp kicked off in their back yard.

Kansas City Chiefs fans aren’t bashful in showing their support for the storied franchise, and residents at one home near the Dallas Cowboys training camp made their allegiance known as the team’s training camp kicked off on Tuesday.

The Cowboys conduct their camp in Oxnard, California, utilizing an area that is surrounded by residential homes far from their core fanbase in Texas. As such, Dallas’ influence in the area is greatly diminished, though it seems odd that Chiefs fans would steal the show in this regard in a state that is home to three NFL franchises.

Kansas City is not scheduled to face off against the Cowboys during the 2023 season, though they could potentially square up against Dallas in Super Bowl LVIII if both teams play up to their full potential this year.

Should they end up duking it out for championship glory in February, expect this anonymous Chiefs fan in Oxnard to be particularly invested in the outcome of the matchup.

Chiefs fans among most skeptical following 2023 NFL draft

A follow-up survey has #ChiefsKingdom as one of seven fanbases who feel their team drafted below their expectations.

Ahead of the 2023 NFL draft, Kansas City Chiefs fans were among the most optimistic when it came to the team’s ability to draft well. Now that the results are in and the dust has settled, it seems they’re a little weary about the players that Brett Veach selected.

In a recent follow-up survey of fans from all 32 NFL teams, Sportsbook Review asked 3,000-plus fans (the same group they originally surveyed) the following question: “On a scale from 10, how well do you think your team drafted?”

As it turns out, the Chiefs were one of the biggest surprises when it comes to the survey results. Their fan optimism ahead of the draft ranked at 7.32 (second-best) and it dipped by an average of 0.47 points according to the most recent poll. It was the second-biggest decrease next to the Jacksonville Jaguars, landing Kansas City squarely in the bottom 16 NFL teams.

Every AFC West team saw a net increase in approval except for the Chiefs. Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Eagles’ fanbase came away the happiest after their Georgia Bulldog-fueled NFL draft.

You’d think that coming off of a Super Bowl win where a rookie draft class contributed a significant amount, it’d buy Brett Veach and the scouting department the benefit of the doubt. Alas, it seems like his draft picks will have to prove doubters wrong again.

Chiefs DE Felix Anudike-Uzomah intends to make most of opportunity to live out his dream

#Chiefs DE Felix Anudike-Uzomah is saying all the right things about being drafted by his hometown team.

By now, everyone knows that first-round draft pick Felix Anudike-Uzomah grew up a Kansas City Chiefs fan.

Even before football was his sport of choice, he was watching the Matt Cassel-era Chiefs on television with the rest of the local population in Kansas City. He’d go on to play football at Lee’s Summit High School, and he even initially played the running back position because he idolized Jamaal Charles.

“I remember I (wore jersey number) 25 because I wanted to be (a running back),” Anudike-Uzomah said. “At the time I was a running back, so I wanted to be a running back just like Jamaal Charles.”

He confirmed to reporters that he’s getting an opportunity to live out was has been a childhood dream.

“Obviously, if you’re a Chiefs fan, especially a Chiefs fan growing up, you always have the dream of playing for the Kansas City Chiefs,” Anudike-Uzomah said. “That’s every young boy’s dream is to play for the Kansas City Chiefs. So, other than that, I’m happy to be and I’m honored to be able to fulfill the dream that a lot of people around Kansas City, Missouri, have a dream of.”

While Anudike-Uzomah’s excitement was palpable, there was also a level of seriousness and responsibility in this undertaking. He’s getting to live out a dream that many athletes have and he intends to make sure he doesn’t waste his opportunity.

“It’s breathtaking really, I’m not going to lie to you on that,” Anudike-Uzomah said. “Coming here, just to see that I’m actually playing for the Kansas City Chiefs is just a dream come true. Now that I’m here I’ve actually got to put in the work and actually prove myself.”

That opportunity starts with rookie minicamp this weekend. Even though Anudike-Uzomah is seemingly unable to participate in team drills due to an injury, he’s focused on learning the playbook and scheme.

“To start off now, I just want to learn the playbook and I just want to be present and learn from the guys that already won a Super Bowl. And if I have the opportunity to play or (to) start, anything like that, I’ll be gladly appreciative. But as of right now, I want to work on learning the playbook and work on getting tips from the older guys.”

If Anudike-Uzomah puts in the work, he knows that the next time he attends a Super Bowl parade, he’ll be a member of the team and not a fan in the crowd.

“I’ve got to put the work in so I can actually (make the team),” Anudike-Uzomah said. “For me, I still haven’t made the team until I put in the work and impress the coaches. After that period. Yes, I’m fan, now it’s time to go to work and try to win another Super Bowl.”

Heckled Patriots fan speaks publicly on viral Raiders game incident

Jerry Edmonds, the Patriots fan that was heckled at the Raiders game, tells his story of the now viral video.

The New England Patriots fan that was relentlessly heckled at a Las Vegas Raiders game at Allegiant Stadium is speaking out publicly for the very first time.

A video of Jerry Edmonds, a longtime Patriots fan, went viral, following the Patriots’ disappointing loss to the Raiders. In the video, a Raiders fan could be seen pointing and yelling in Edmonds’ face in a confrontational manner.

Yet, throughout the entire ordeal, Edmonds remained as cool as a cucumber and avoided retaliation in any form. The video caught the attention of not only the entire sports world, but it was even seen by Patriots owner Robert Kraft.

“Honestly, I know the world we live in,” said Edmonds, via Babz On The Mic. “I know how it would have looked if I did anything on my end to kind of like retaliate or any type of way try to separate it myself. So I kind of just did what I knew to do and that’s just do my best to ignore it.”

Kraft offered Edmonds a personal invite to the Patriots’ Week 16 matchup at home against the Cincinnati Bengals, including an opportunity to be on the field for the team’s pre-game warmups.

It’s a nice haul and a great ending for what was otherwise an ugly situation.
