It sounds like the next chapter of Captain America is on the way.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel is developing a fourth Captain America film that’s set to be led by Falcon and the Winter Soldier showrunner Malcolm Spellman and show writer Dalan Musson.

Disney+’s Falcon and the Winter Soldier wrapped up its first season on Friday, where it teased what the future could hold for both Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes, and also announced the fourth installment of Captain America.

Falcon and the Winter Soldier premiered back on March 19, where it was the streaming platform’s biggest series debut ever surpassing other shows like Marvel’s WandaVision and Lucasfilm’s The Mandalorian.

While we don’t know much about what lies in store for the fourth installment, it’s safe to say that following the events of the Falcon and the Winter Soldier season finale we have an idea after — SPOILER ALERT! — Sam Wilson took up the Captain America mantle.

That appears to be the case, according to Deadline, who notes this fourth Captain America film could focus on Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson. But there’s also a possible separate Chris Evans Captain America project in the works, reports Deadline.

With a fourth Captain America reportedly in the works, fans are absolutely loving the idea of Sam Wilson getting his chance to shine on the big screen and not having to wait much longer for more.
