Everything we know about Captain America: New World Order so far

We’re here to give you the rundown on what we know about Captain America: New World Order.

When Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige announced the lineup for Phases 4, 5, and 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a fourth Captain America film wasn’t the biggest headline of the day for most fans. While many fans have enjoyed seeing Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson take on the mantle of the Captain America, the departure of Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers from the MCU has been a loss that many feel the franchise has yet to recover from.

As the months have passed since that big announcement, little by little we’ve learned more about Marvel’s plans for a fourth Cap movie and with each new tidbit, the excitement around the film has grown. For many Marvel fans, Captain America: New World Order (as we now know the title to be) is quickly becoming the most anticipated MCU project outside of the upcoming Avengers movies.

So what exactly do we know about this movie so far? We’re here to give you the rundown and get you caught up on why many fans are now expecting Captain America: New World Order to be as big an event as Captain America: Civil War was back in 2016.

The debate about Captain America’s virginity is now MCU canon thanks to She-Hulk

Did Steve Rogers fondue it? A certain She-Hulk would like to know.

Look, as a Marvel Cinematic Universe fan myself, I’m here to tell you that MCU fans have some really strange debates. And the hills we choose to die on are sometimes so nonsensical and meaningless that you can’t help but be impressed at how wild these fan theories are.

One of the most divisive (and pointlessly fun) of these debates tries to unravel the personal life of workaholic superhero and love-sick puppy Steve Rogers. I’m going to cut right to the point:

MCU fans want to know if Captain America has sex.

I know! It’s crude. It means (almost) nothing in the grand scheme of the entire MCU storyline…..and yet the debate rages. It feels safe to assume that after Steve went back in time to ostensibly live out his prime days with Peggy Carter that the two fondued. But what about before then? Did Steve ever hook up with Natasha Romanoff or (gulp) Sharon Carter?

Credit where it’s due, Mallory Rubin and Jason Concepcion dove into this argument during their Binge Mode podcast season covering the MCU. And now, amazingly, the debate has become canon within the MCU itself.

It’s all thanks to She-Hulk, the newest entry into the MCU set to debut August 18 on Disney+. In an exclusive clip from IMDB, we see Bruce Banner and his cousin, Jennifer Walters (soon to become the titular She-Hulk) driving down a desolate highway discussing whether or not Captain America still had his, uh, service card before time-traveling back to Peggy.

Regardless of the answer (he didn’t), the fact that this silly fan debate has actually made it back into the writing room and onto the screen is wild. Shoutout to the She-Hulk writers for trying to get to the bottom of one of the biggest mysteries in the 616 Universe.

I rewatched the entire MCU to get ready for ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home.’ Here’s what I learned.

The MCU from Captain America: The First Avenger to Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Spider-Man: No Way Home swung into theaters Thursday night, giving movie fans a semblance of the experience from pre-pandemic times as raucous crowds cheered, cried, and clapped at each turn. This is the 27th movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a behemoth that has spanned 13 years, multiple characters, and brought in over $23 billion worldwide.

In order to prepare for the third entry of this Spider-Man saga, I rewatched all 30 bits of content, starting with Captain America: The First Avenger and ending with the latest episode of the Hawkeye series on Disney+ before heading to a 6pm showing of No Way Home.

Here are some things I learned along the way, and if you want to see all my thoughts, check out the thread that starts here:

[Note: this contains spoilers for the MCU, but NOT for No Way Home]

There’s reportedly already a fourth ‘Captain America’ movie in the works

The next chapter of Captain America is on the way!

Warning: This post features spoilers from Marvel’s Falcon and the Winter Soldier season finale. Proceed at your own risk.

It sounds like the next chapter of Captain America is on the way.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel is developing a fourth Captain America film that’s set to be led by Falcon and the Winter Soldier showrunner Malcolm Spellman and show writer Dalan Musson.

Disney+’s Falcon and the Winter Soldier wrapped up its first season on Friday, where it teased what the future could hold for both Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes, and also announced the fourth installment of Captain America.

Falcon and the Winter Soldier premiered back on March 19, where it was the streaming platform’s biggest series debut ever surpassing other shows like Marvel’s WandaVision and Lucasfilm’s The Mandalorian.

While we don’t know much about what lies in store for the fourth installment, it’s safe to say that following the events of the Falcon and the Winter Soldier season finale we have an idea after — SPOILER ALERT! — Sam Wilson took up the Captain America mantle.

That appears to be the case, according to Deadline, who notes this fourth Captain America film could focus on Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson. But there’s also a possible separate Chris Evans Captain America project in the works, reports Deadline.

With a fourth Captain America reportedly in the works, fans are absolutely loving the idea of Sam Wilson getting his chance to shine on the big screen and not having to wait much longer for more.

Marvel fans were absolutely obsessed with [Spoiler’s] costume change

So darn awesome.

Stop right there! This article contains a major spoiler from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. We discuss a plot reveal from the sixth and final episode of the first season. If you’re not interested in spoiling what happens, they you have to get out of here.

Last chance!

Finally, Sam Wilson is Captain America. And finally, we get to see Wilson’s supersuit as Captain America.

It. Is. Awesome.

The Marvel Studios team built a suit, which is clearly inspired by the comics in a big way. In fact, it looks almost like an exact replica from the comics. At the beginning of the episode, Wilson shows up wearing his red, white and blue suit, with the shield and his wing suit.

Here’s a look at how fans reacted on Twitter.

Everyone loved Wilson being Captain America — just in general.

Yup, he was absolutely the right guy for the job (and John Walker was not).

Marvel fans roasted Captain America after episode 2 of ‘The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’

No one seems to like the new Captain America.

A word of caution: this article contains spoilers from the second episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier titled “The Star-Spangled Man.” If you don’t want to know the plot points from that episode, leave now (and come back later). Sound good? Good.

The new Captain America is the absolute worst.

In the second episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, we began to get to know Steve Rogers’ replacement John Walker, a seemingly respectable government agent who is well-decorated and well-accomplished — and just … awful. Let’s just say he has a nails-on-the-chalkboard presence. In the latest episode, Walker even used a gun. A gun! That is not Rodgers’ style.

But there were more substantial problems with Walker’s attitude, largely centering his tactless approach to befriend Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes. It really started heating up with a hilariously awkward Jeep ride.

“That (super) serum doesn’t exactly have a great track record,” Walker said, looking at Barnes. “No offense.”

Offense taken. Bucky is exactly what went wrong with the super serum, with Hydra brainwashing him, giving him the serum and weaponizing him as an agent of evil. Bucky’s evil acts — which resulted in what seems to be crippling guilt and grief — are exactly what he is struggling to process in this series (hence, the therapist.) So Walker’s offensive comments probably (or definitely) struck a nerve.

But then he didn’t stop there. He explained he found Bucky and Sam’s location by finding Red Wing, the drone The Falcon controls.

“It wasn’t exactly hacking. It’s government property. I’m kind of the the government,” Walker said.

Oh no he didn’t! He didn’t just call Red Wing his property, did he? (He did.) Again, offense taken. Sam loves that drone.

When Walker finally took a hint that he, Sam and Bucky would not get along, Walker issued a warning at the end of the episode: “Stay the hell out of my way.”

That also didn’t seem to go over well. They brushed him off and parted ways. And so Marvel fans ripped into this new, unlikable Captain America.

Marvel fans did not let the stay-the-hell-out-of-my-way line slide.

It’s fair to say Walker didn’t win many hearts this episode.

12 Seattle Seahawks reimagined as Avengers characters

Which Seattle Seahawk is your favorite superhero? Here’s a look at 12 Seattle Seahawks reimagined as Avengers characters.

In America, the National Football League is king when it comes to entertainment. It seems the only property which can even come close to competing are the routinely successful and popular Marvel superhero movies.

To many fans, their favorite NFL stars are practically like superheroes to them in a sense. We at SeahawksWire thought with the Seahawks back in action it would be interesting to meld reality with fiction for some kickoff fun.
Without further ado, here are 12 Seattle Seahawks re-imaged as Earth’s Mightiest Heroes . . . the Avengers!

Look: Georgia football RB D’Andre Swift the Captain America of NFL Draft

ESPN labeled Georgia football star running back D’Andre Swift as Captain America of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Georgia star running back D’andre Swift got some love from Marvel today when ESPN released a promotion of 2020 NFL Draft prospects as Marvel characters on Twitter.

The promotion also features Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts as Thor, Clemson safety Isaiah Simmons as Black Panther and Auburn defensive tackle Derrick Brown as Iron Man.

How Swift was chosen to be the esteemed Captain America is anyone’s best guess, but I like to think it’s because Swift is the most versatile running back in this year’s draft class.

In Swift’s three years at Georgia, he ran for 2,885 yards with 6.6 yards per carry and 20 touchdowns and he wasn’t done there…

The Philadelphia native added another 666 yards and five touchdowns as a pass catcher. And that’s while sharing carries as a freshman with now NFL running backs Nick Chubb and Sony Michel.

Not to mention the poor offensive play calling that limited Swift’s numbers as a receiver.

Swift will look to join the long line of Georgia NFL running backs this Thursday.

Mock drafts have Swift being selected anywhere from the top 15 picks in the first round to the beginning of the second round and there is some speculation that Swift –  Captain America – may be headed to Tampa Bay to be paired with the legendary Tom Brady.
