Brooklyn Nets owner recruits Fake Klay to play with Kevin Durant

After the Warriors banned “Fake Klay Thompson”, Nets owner Joe Tsai has invited him to join the team.

Following Game 5 of the NBA Finals, internet sensation ‘Fake Klay Thompson’ has reportedly been banned from Chase Center – but the Brooklyn Nets are happy to extend him an invitation to the Barclays Center.

The Klay Thompson impersonator has been banned from the Golden State Warrior’s home for life, after walking into the stadium and shooting around on the court for a few minutes.

Dawson Gurley is a YouTube prankster and has been quite a topic of conversation for NBA and Warriors fans. Gurley’s antic have been noticed on national TV and even Steve Kerr mistook the impersonator for his own player just a few seasons ago.

Net owner Joe Tsai decided to react to the NBA news, openly inviting the YouTube impersonator to come out to Barclay’s Center. Tsai used the hashtag, #FakeTampering.

If “Fake Flay Thompson” came to Brooklyn, what would that even look like? The team could chose to dress him up as a Net and take promotional photo’s or to bring in more ticket sales.

You’ll never see fake Klay Thompson at another Warriors game. Here’s why

Fake Klay will never walk into Chase Center again.

YouTuber Dawson Gurley, also known as fake Klay Thompson, has been tricking people for years now.

Somehow, he genuinely has gotten fans to believe he’s the real Klay instead of the great value version. He got them in 2017. Then he got them again in 2018. This dude is an absolute menace.

There are some pretty key differences between the two here, though. Sure, fake Klay is good at basketball. But Klay Thompson is, well, obviously an NBA player. Fake Klay is also not 6’7 which, clearly, the real Klay is.

So you’d think, from the outside looking in, it’d be pretty easy to spot the difference between fake Klay and real Klay.

But…apparently, the Warriors’ security team can’t? Sheesh.

Gurley managed to walk into the Chase Center and walk through five (!!!!) layers of the team’s security staff with no hassle whatsoever. He made his way to the actual court and got up shots for 10 whole minutes before someone actually said something.

Yes, this really happened. He caught it all on camera.

“We could just go into the locker room if we wanted to,” Dawson said to the camera in clear disbelief after sneaking in. And, yeah. Yeah, he totally could’ve. Which is pretty wild to think about.

That is hilarious but, also, like….yo? Really? He got through that easily, huh? The team’s security even thought it was funny.

As funny as this was, though, it earned fake Klay a lifetime ban from the Chase Center, per SFGate. He tweeted the ban letter out

fHonestly, that feels a bit harsh? But, on the other hand, at least they didn’t call the police and get him arrested for trespassing because they absolutely could’ve.

This was just wild. NBA fans got quite the laugh out of this.
