Three former Cardinals players have nicknames that get honorable mention while four, including Jake “The Snake” Plummer are in the top 101.

There have been a number of great nicknames for NFL players over the years. Thomas Neumann, for USA TODAY’s Touchdown Wire, gives us the 101 best nicknames in NFL history.

Four of them belong to former Arizona (or St. Louis or Chicago) Cardinals players.

A few notable nicknames didn’t make it. Budda Baker’s given name is not Budda, which is a fantastic nickname. Larry Fitzgerald is known as Larry Legend. That one didn’t make the list either. DeAndre Hopkins is called Nuk, which also didn’t make the cut.

Teams that are historically undefeated against Ohio State in football

There are a handful of teams in college football that Ohio State has never beaten. Can you guess any of them? Some are surprising, to say the least.

There aren’t too many college football programs out there that have the upper hand on a blue-blood like Ohio State, but, believe it or not, there’s a handful the Buckeyes have never beaten. All of the examples include small sample sizes, but it still stings to know certain programs have never experienced a loss to the scarlet and gray.

Can you guess the teams? Ohio State finally got the Clemson monkey off its back in a big way last year in the Sugar Bowl, so the list is dwindling. We can almost guarantee that some of these may be a surprise to you.

Here’s the shortlist of programs still thumping their chest over having an unblemished record against Ohio State. Thanks to the following websites for the research — Winsipedia and SportsReference.com.

First … the non-Power Five teams

The 11 best blocks in NBA history

Giannis Antetokounmpo on Deandre Ayton, LeBron James on Andre Iguodala and the other nine greatest blocks in NBA history, according to us.

Game 4 of the 2021 NBA Finals saw Giannis Antetokounmpo execute what will undoubtedly go down as one of the greatest blocks in NBA history, up there with LeBron James on Andre Iguodala in Game 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals, among other memorable swats.

So that immediately got us thinking: If we broke it down to the 11 best blocks in the history of the Association, what other swat-aways would make the list?

For our purposes, we’re taking into account the stakes at hand, degree of difficulty on said blocks and sheer audacity by the blocker in question.

Below, check out what we came up with as the 11 best blocks in NBA history in no particular order.

Seven FBS teams that Michigan football has never beaten

Will #Michigan get revenge against some of these teams? #GoBlue

It’s common knowledge Michigan football has the most wins of any program in all of college football, but that doesn’t mean the Wolverines have wins against all of the teams that they’ve faced.

In fact, there are three Big 12 teams, two SEC teams, a MAC team and one in the Pac-12 that Michigan has yet to win against at the FBS level.

Yes, the Wolverines haven’t beaten two non-FBS teams in history (Cleveland AA and Wesleyan in Connecticut) but the maize and blue have had a long, storied history that goes back to the inception of the game, thus there were games — such as the aforementioned in the 1800s — for which Michigan will not likely get revenge.

These are the teams that Michigan has yet to beat, all have only faced the Wolverines once.

Check the yardage book: Royal St. George’s for the British Open

Large undulations and blind shots might drive players a bit mad at Royal St. George’s in the British Open. Check out the hole-by-hole maps.

Royal St. George’s Golf Club in Sandwich, England, will host its 15th British Open this week, presenting the kind of wild, undulating and hopefully bouncy test that tends to drive some of the best players in the game a little crazy. That craziness is in part fueled by numerous blind shots as players must hoist balls into the sky over the dunes.

The club, on the coast of the English Channel about 80 miles southeast of London, has seen such varied and sometimes unexpected winners as Darren Clarke (2011), Ben Curtis (2003), Bill Rogers (1981) and Reg Whitcombe (1938), for example. But it hasn’t been all surprises, as Greg Norman won there in 1993 and Walter Haden triumphed there twice (1922 and ’28). The first Open held at Royal St. George’s was won by J.H. Taylor in 1894.

Royal St. George’s opened in 1887 with a Laidlaw Purves layout that has been renovated and restored several times, most recently by Martin Ebert, who has worked on several British Open layouts including Royal Portrush before the 2019 Open. Royal St. George’s ranks No. 9 on Golfweek’s Best list of top courses in Great Britain and Ireland.

The course will be set up at 7,189 yards with a par of 70 for this year’s Open.

Thanks to yardage books provided by Puttview – the maker of detailed yardage books for more than 30,000 courses around the world – we can see exactly the challenges that players will face this week. Check out each hole below.

Golfweek’s Best Courses You Can Play: Kentucky

The top-rated public-access course in Kentucky is Lassing Pointe, making the Bluegrass State one of few to have a top municipal layout.

Municipal golf shines brightly in Kentucky, with a county-owned facility ranked as No. 1 among all public-access layouts in the state. That makes it one of a small handful of states with municipal layouts ranked among their best public layouts.

Golfweek ranks courses by compiling the average ratings – on a points basis of 1 to 10 – of its more than 750 raters to create several industry-leading lists of courses. That includes the popular Best Courses You Can Play list for courses that allow non-member tee times. These generally are defined as layouts accessible to resort guests or regular daily-fee players.

Lassing Pointe Golf Course (pictured atop this story) in Union is No. 1 on that public-access list in the Bluegrass State. Built by Michael Hurdzan and opened in 1994, Lassing Pointe is owned by Boone County in the far north of Kentucky, near the borders with Indiana and Ohio.

Heritage Hill in Shepherdsville ranks No. 2 among Golfweek’s Best Courses You Can Play in Kentucky. The layout was designed by Douglas Beach and opened in 2007.

No. 3 in Kentucky is Kearney Hill in Lexington, followed by No. 4 Cherry Blossom in Georgetown and No. 5 Marriott Griffin Gate Resort & Spa in Lexington.

Kentucky also is home to a strong private club scene, with Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville topping the Golfweek’s Best Private Courses list in the state. The Jack Nicklaus-designed Valhalla also ties for No. 80 among all of Golfweek’s Best Modern Courses opened in or after 1960 in the U.S.

Bears’ new unofficial all-time sack leaders dating back to 1960

Here’s a look at the Bears’ updated list of unofficial all-time sack leaders dating back to 1960.

While sacks didn’t become an official NFL stat until 1982, we’re getting a look at sacks dating back to 1960 thanks to Pro Football Reference. Still, sacks before 1982 are an unofficial stat, but it’s cool to get a glimpse at how the sacks leaders stack up when you include sacks dating back 12 more years.

Richard Dent remains Chicago’s all-time sack leader with 124.5, and Steve McMichael’s 92.5 sacks remains the second-most in franchise history. But there was some shake-up in the top five after that.

Dan Hampton moved up to third all-time with an additional 25 sacks from 1979-1981. Doug Atkins, who played from 1955 to 1966, is now fifth all-time with 64.5 sacks.

Here’s a look at the new unofficial Bears’ all-time sack leaders, per Pro Football Reference.

Ohio State football’s top 10 all-time leaders in total yards

What players have the most total yardage during their careers at Ohio State? Do you know?

The Ohio State program has morphed from one built on rushing and defense to one that’s an offensive machine over the last few years. Really, since Urban Meyer took the baton, the Buckeye offenses have been some of the best in the country.

But it isn’t just that period. With the caliber of player Ohio State brings in, plenty of teams and players have put up some eye-popping stats on the offensive end.

We’ve been going through some of the all-time Buckeye stats, and next up on the list are the top 10 leaders in total career yards. As you’ll see, because of the nature of being able to combine passing and rushing yards, it’s a list stocked full of quarterbacks.

Here are the top 10 all-time yardage leaders at Ohio State.
