The Jaguars improved to 7-1 in games with Cam Robinson in the lineup.
The Jacksonville Jaguars are now 7-1 with Cam Robinson in the lineup after getting a 26-0 win Sunday in the offensive tackle’s first game back from injured reserve.
Robinson, 28, missed the first four games of the year because of a suspension and then missed another four in the latter half of the year when a knee injury sent him to IR. His return Sunday ended a little early with an ejection, but that wasn’t necessarily the worst thing. It’s that kind of energy and fire that the Jaguars seem to miss when Robinson isn’t playing.
“That was awesome, I was happy for that,” Jaguars tight end Evan Engram said of the ejection. “I donât know if he might get fined or something for that, but itâs good to have him back. Heâs just a difference-maker for us. His energy is contagious in that room.”
It also doesn’t seem like a coincidence that Travis Etienne Jr. finally had his second game of the year over 100 yards rushing. Etienne scored two touchdowns, and the Jaguars finished the day with 155 total rushing yards.
“He just has an aura about him, and it kind of feeds off to the other guys,” Etienne said of Robinson. “He just means so much to the offensive line, to the team, to all of us. I feel when he is out, itâs definitely noticed.”
Cam Robinson got ejected from The Jaguars game against the Panthers.
The Crowd at the bank cheered as Robinson walked off the field.
Prior to the season, it seemed almost inevitable that the 2023 season would be Robinson’s last in Jacksonville. With Anton Harrison taking over at right tackle and Walker Little waiting in the wings at left tackle, would the Jaguars really pass on the $17.75 million in 2024 cap savings they could get by releasing Robinson?
Now it seems the Jaguars can’t afford not to have the veteran offensive lineman on the roster.
Doug Pederson is at a loss for what more Jaguars coaches can do to get the team to stop shooting itself in the foot.
Last week, after a third straight loss, Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said coaches had “to find the good” and preach positivity to help the team pull out of its slide.
Well, clearly that didn’t work.
After a 30-12 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the coach wasn’t much in the mood for finding silver linings. With 10 turnovers for the Jaguars offense in three games, Pederson instead challenged his team to show a little pride.
“I canât go out there and do it,” Pederson said. “You know, [offensive coordinator] Press [Taylor] canât do it. [Defensive coordinator] Mike Caldwell canât do it. I mean the players at some point have to have enough pride to not turn … listen, theyâre not trying to turn the ball over, but there has to be a sense of urgency to have the ball security to protect the football, and itâs not there right now.”
Trevor Lawrence threw two interceptions in the first half Sunday, both of which appeared to be a consequence of miscommunication between the quarterback and his intended targets. That’s been a prevailing theme throughout December for the Jaguars.
Another two turnovers came via fumbles by Lawrence and tight end Evan Engram. There was also a fumbled exchange between Lawrence and running back D’Ernest Johnson that was recovered by Johnson for a five-yard loss.
“You canât pin this all on the quarterback, right?” Pederson said. “I mean, everybody else practiced. As a team, it wasnât good. The sense of urgency wasnât there, we didnât execute very well on offense, the turnovers keep piling up, the run game, all that kind of stuff. It just affects the whole process. So, itâs not one guy, itâs the coaches, myself, the players, weâre all in this together.”
Thanks to a terrible day for the entire AFC South, the Jaguars are still first in the division with two weeks left. It may even take just one more win for Jacksonville to get into the playoffs. But unless things change significantly soon, it doesn’t look like it’ll matter much either way.
Baltimore visits the Jacksonville Jaguars (8-5) on Sunday night in what could be a potential playoff preview.
Jacksonville will look to rebound after suffering their second loss in six days, as quarterback Trevor Lawrence finished 28 of 50 for 257 yards and three interceptions.
With preparation underway for both teams, here are 10 Jaguars to watch for in Week 15.
Strong performances by a few Jaguars players were overshadowed by mistakes and miscues.
The Jacksonville Jaguars simply made too many mistakes to beat the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.
In the 31-27 loss, the Jaguars turned the ball over four times and punted seven times. While the defense gave up several big plays and nearly 400 yards of total offense, it also forced three turnovers and eight Cleveland punts.
Were the three interceptions thrown by Trevor Lawrence all the fault of the 24-year-old quarterback? His last certainly looked like a misread, but the first two seemed to be a disconnect between Lawrence and his veteran receivers Calvin Ridley and Zay Jones.
At Pro Football Focus, they graded every Jaguars player in the Week 14 game. Here’s who PFF thought stood out most, both positively and negatively, in the Jacksonville loss:

QB C.J. Stroud –Â Landed on his back and his head whipped back to the turf for a concussion. In the protocol now and Davis Mills will fill in this week in Tennessee if needed. The Texans have gone through a rash of injuries and Stroud is the one piece they cannot lose.
QB Justin Herbert – Fractured the index finger on his throwing hand and that may be season ending with just one month left to play in a year already gone bad. Easton Stick is the next man up. This week is a trip to face the Raiders and looks like another low-scoring affair there.
RB Josh Jacobs – He injured his knee early in the game but continued to play through it until finally giving up with six minutes left because of the pain. Speculation is that he hyperextended his knee and likely damaged ligaments and if so, he will not play on Thursday at the least. Zamir White would replace him versus the Chargers.
RB Alexander Mattison – Left the win over the Raiders with an ankle sprain which HC Kevin O’Connell later confirmed. His status for the Saturday matchup in Cincinnati will be determined after tests on Monday. Ty Chandler will take the start if needed.
WR Nico Collins – Injured his calf on the first series and was ruled out during halftime. Tank Dell was already lost for the season, so if Collins misses games he’ll be replaced by the group of Noah Brown, Robert Woods, and John Metchie, though C.J. Stroud’s status is uncertain this week as well.
WR Justin Jefferson – He suffered a chest injury in the second quarter and was forced to the sideline. He was later sent to a nearby hospital. His prognosis and status should be known on Monday but the Vikes play on Saturday in the early game at the Bengals. The No. 1 pick in nearly every fantasy draft is yet another instance where the best player for a season cannot replicate their success.
Free Agents, Flops and Other Notables
QBDesmond Ridder (ATL) –Â Turned in a season-high 347 yards and a score on the visiting Buccaneers that included Drake London’s ten-catch, 172-yard performance for a career-best. Granted – the Buccaneers secondary is one of the worst. But Ridder threw three completions for 57 yards and a score to Kyle Pitts.
QB Jake Browning(CIN) – He left the win over the Colts with what were described as “hand cramps” but returned to the game and ended with 275 yards and two touchdowns, plus ran in a touchdown. He may be no Joe Burrow, but he looks like a guy who needs to be more than an unseen backup.
QB Trevor Lawrence (JAC) – When he was awkwardly bent backward over his ankle last week, it looked like the season was over. But Robo-QB showed few signs of the injury and was one of the best quarterbacks for Week 14 with 257 yards and three touchdowns – though he had three interceptions.
WR Parker Washington (JAC) – The rookie replacement for Christian Kirk only managed two catches for 27 yards, but he’s started his career with a touchdown in his first two games.
RB Chase Brown (CIN) – He only ran for 25 yards on eight carries, but Brown led the Bengals’ receivers with three catches for 80 yards that included a 54-yard touchdown catch. The Bengals still ran Joe Mixon 21 times for 79 yards and a score, but Brown has looked sharp for the last two weeks. The Bengals have a potential out in Mixon’s contract next year and Brown can promote more confidence in him for the final month of the season.
RB Keaton Mitchell (BAL) – He ran for 54 yards on nine carries in the win over the Rams but the Ravens still used Gus Edwards for six rushes for 15 yards. They speak about getting Mitchell more involved and he’s impressed when given the chance. Apparently, getting him more involved is a slow process.
QB Joe Flacco (CLE) -After posting 254 yards and two scores on the Rams, the Browns waited until late in the week before naming him as the starter versus the Jaguars. Flacco ended with 311 yards and three scores for the first 300-yard game by any Browns’ quarterback this year. He was named the starter the rest of the season before he reached the locker room.
TE Isaiah Likely (BAL) –Â He took over for Mark Andrews for the last two games and only managed four catches for 40 yards at the Chargers in Week 12 before their bye. Versus the Rams, Likely caught five passes for 83 yards and a touchdown – very Anderson-ish.
Huddle player of the week
Evan Engram – Engram has been involved weekly for four or five catches, but now has two straight weeks as the primary receiver with at least nine catches and a touchdown in each. Engram faced the Browns who had the No. 1 defense against tight ends and caught 11 passes for 95 yards and two scores yesterday. That’s catching fire right when we need it most.
Salute!
Drama 101 – Somebody has to laugh, somebody has to cry
Which Jaguars players stood out in Cleveland and who had a game to forget?
The Jacksonville Jaguars’ Week 14 loss to the Cleveland Browns was a mess.
Trevor Lawrence finished with three interceptions on a day where he and his wide receivers struggled to get on the same page. Add in a Parker Washington fumble, a turnover on downs, and seven Logan Cooke punts, and the Jaguars afforded the Browns plenty of opportunities on offense.
Jacksonville’s defense had its moments, forcing three turnovers and eight Cleveland punts. But it had miscommunications of its own, allowing Browns tight end David Njoku to run free for 34- and 30-yard touchdowns in the first half.
Who struggled most in the Jaguars’ 31-27 loss? And which players had a strong performance for Jacksonville, despite the rough outing in Cleveland? Here are some studs and duds for the Jaguars in Week 14:
The Jaguars and Browns combined for seven turnovers and 15 punts in a sloppy game that ended in a 31-27 win for Cleveland.
The Jacksonville Jaguars turned the ball over four times, punted seven times, and turned it over on downs once in a 31-27 loss to the Cleveland Browns.
Despite a litany of errors, the Jaguars trailed seven in the final minutes of the game and had a chance to drive the field for a game-tying touchdown. Instead a failed fourth down set up the Browns for a field goal that extended their lead to 10 points and essentially put the game on ice.
The Jaguars are left searching for answers after back-to-back losses and a sudden avalanche of injuries. While Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence appeared to escape without any further damage to his injured ankle, offensive tackle Ezra Cleveland, and safeties Andre Cisco and Rayshawn Jenkins all exited for stretches Sunday.
The silver lining for the Jaguars is that neither the Indianapolis Colts nor the Houston Texans made up their one-game deficit in the AFC South standings. Still, the Jaguars are in need of a win and have plenty of questions that need answers with the playoffs just a month away.
Hereâs how Jacksonvilleâs messy Week 14 loss went down:
Check out these starts and sits for Week 14 in fantasy football.
After watching a surprisingly decent Thursday night game between the New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers, the focus shifts toward a weekend full of vital decisions for fantasy football lineups.
The majority of bye weeks have passed as only the Arizona Cardinals and Washington Commanders are the only two teams to get the week off. With most leagues finalizing the regular season in Week 14, the start/sit decisions have never been more crucial.
Hopefully, we can help get you into the dance for those trying to make it or help you spoil it for someone else.
Doing start/sit articles can be a little challenging. The players featured on the list below should not be taken as “must starts” or “must sits.” Instead, these are more suggestions on what we believe managers should do with fringe players heading into the weekend. The choice is ultimately up to the manager.
Just because a player is listed as a “start” doesn’t mean he should be put in the lineup over the secure, bona fide studs. Vice versa for the “sits.” If there’s no better option on the waiver wire or the bench, a manager shouldn’t automatically sit the player. That’s why these can be tricky waters to navigate.
Which Jaguars players are you hoping to see in the 2024 Pro Bowl Games?
After just over a week of Pro Bowl Games voting, there are seven Jacksonville Jaguars players in the top 10 at their position.
Tom Pelissero of NFL Network tweeted the full list of voting leaders as of noon Tuesday, eight days after the polling opened Monday, Nov. 27. Voting will continue until Dec. 25.
While there are seven Jaguars in the mix with just under three weeks left, the public vote counts for just a portion of the eventual tally. The votes of fans, players, and coaches each count for a third to determine the final rosters.
Here are the seven who are currently top 10 vote-getters:
