ESPN’s College GameDay predict winner of Texas A&M vs. Notre Dame

The College GameDay hosts are high on the Aggies ahead of Saturday’s showdown

Just hours before Texas A&M hosts the No. 7 Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Saturday night, ESPN’s College Gameday descended on College Station, Texas, bringing the usual pre-game fun that offers plenty of entertainment for the earlier weekend risers who tune in.

As the festivities came to a close, the GameDay hosts, including Rece Davis, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee, Nick Saban, Lee Corso, and Kirk Herbstreit, joined guest picker Johnny Manziel to select every marquee game on the week 1 schedule, culminating in Saturday’s prime-time showdown.

While the predictions throughout the week have favored the Aggies due to the effect that Kyle Field and the 12th Man present, especially in night games, Notre Dame’s veteran defense littered with preseason All-Americans will be challenging for A&M’s offense under new OC Collin Klein.

However, Texas A&M’s deep D-line, led by former Purdue defensive end Nic Scourton, has a chance to be elite. It will face a Notre Dame offensive line with just six combined starts between all five starters.

Well, Howard, Saban, Manziel, and Pat McAfee all predicted that Texas A&M would come out victorious, but to avoid the GameDay curse, Lee Corso, in his usual fashion, trotted out in a leprechaun costume, picking the Fighting Irish to escape with a win.

Watch Texas A&M student hit big money field goal on ESPN’s College GameDay

Watch this Texas A&M freshman hit a field goal worth $50,000 during College GameDay!

During one of the many segments to, let’s be honest, fill time before former Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel and the GameDay hosts picked the games, especially Texas A&M vs. Notre Dame.

One of the show’s most popular hosts, Pat McAfee, a former Pro Bowl Punter with the Indianapolis Colts, challenged a Texas A&M freshman student to hit a 33-yard field goal worth a whopping $50,000 if he made it. After missing the first attempt, McAfee was gracious and gave the young man one last shot, which he nailed right down the middle.

Congratulations to this young man on shocking everyone, which might be a good sign for Texas A&M on Saturday night!

ESPN’s College GameDay is going to Salt Lake City for No. 9 Oregon vs. No. 14 Utah

For the second time in three weeks, the Oregon Ducks will be featured on ESPN’s ‘College GameDay.’

For the second time in three weeks, the Oregon Ducks are going to be a featured team on ESPN’s flagship show ‘College GameDay.’

After the No. 14 Utah Utes took care of business and beat the No. 18 USC Trojans with a walk-off field goal, it set up what will likely be the most anticipated matchup of the Week 9 slate.

After both Utah and Oregon won on Saturday to improve to 6-1, you can guess that they will move up slightly in the rankings. My guess is this will be No. 8 Oregon vs. No. 12 Utah, in the final meeting of the two foes for quite a while.

Two weeks ago, the Ducks were one of the featured teams on ‘GameDay’ when the show traveled up to Seattle to feature No. 8 Oregon vs. No. 7 Washington, an instant classic that ended in a 36-33 win for the Huskies.

You can bet that ESPN learned what a lucrative move it was to feature Oregon, as they pulled in a week-high 7.04 million viewers on the ABC telecast.

The Utah-Oregon game is scheduled for a 12:30 p.m. kickoff on FOX, but that isn’t stopping ESPN from taking their pregame show to the mountain air in Salt Lake City.

ESPN’s ‘College GameDay’ announces celebrity guest picker for Oregon vs. Washington game

ESPN’s ‘College GameDay’ announces celebrity guest picker for Oregon vs. Washington game

There has been a great deal of speculation over the past week regarding who would be the celebrity guest picker for ESPN’s “College GameDay” this weekend when the No. 8 Oregon Ducks travel to Seattle to face the No. 7 Washington Huskies.

On Thursday, ESPN announced it would be actor Joel McHale who comes on the flagship show to make honorary picks at the end of the broadcast. McHale is known for his role on “Community,” as well as the long-time host of “The Soup.”

[lawrence-related id=49581]

McHale was a former walk-on tight end for the Huskies in the 1990s, but never appeared in a game. McHale has twice been the guest picker for ESPN’s “College GameDay.”

Other options included actor Anna Faris, actor Rainn Wilson, former NBA star Nate Robinson and Olympian Megan Rapinoe, who potentially would have brought along WNBA legend Sue Bird.

Top guest picker candidates for ‘College GameDay’ between No. 8 Oregon and No. 6 Washington

Who will the celebrity guest picker be for ESPN’s College GameDay in Seattle this weekend? We’ve got some options.

Let the hype for this weekend’s top-10 showdown between the No. 8 Oregon Ducks and No. 6 Washington Huskies begin.

While this game is expected to be one of the best of the season and will likely vault the winner directly into the College Football Playoff conversation, it is expected to have the appropriate amount of hype surrounding it.

ESPN’s “College GameDay” announced that it is headed to Seattle to preview the matchup this weekend.

One of the time-honored traditions of ESPN’s flagship show is bringing on a celebrity guest-picker to make game picks at the end of the show. Last year, WNBA All-Star and Oregon legend Sabrina Ionescu took the stage when GameDay was in Eugene for the Ducks’ game vs. UCLA.

So who will it be this weekend in Seattle? We went down the list of notable celebrity Husky fans, and famous Washington alumni. Here are the top candidates we found:

Oklahoma Sooners legend named guest picker for ESPN’s ‘College GameDay’

A Sooner legend is returning to the Cotton Bowl to be the celebrity picker for ESPN’s College Gameday.

The Oklahoma Sooners and the Texas Longhorns will meet for the 119th time on Saturday in Dallas at the [autotag]Cotton Bowl[/autotag]. Both teams enter unbeaten for the first time since 2011.

The eyes of the nation will be on this game as it will have several national implications. ESPN’s “College GameDay” announced earlier this week they would also be in attendance.

If you haven’t followed the show, the show always ends with the analysts picking several games across college football before Lee Corso puts on the headgear of the team he thinks will win the game they’re onsite for.

One of the pickers is usually a celebrity representing the home team. So, that had people wondering who would be the picker for OU-Texas. Would it be someone for Texas or would it be someone for Oklahoma?

We have that answer. [autotag]ESPN’s “College GameDay[/autotag]” announced on social media the guest picker will be none other than the man who grew up in Austin, Texas, but as a diehard Sooner fan, [autotag]Baker Mayfield[/autotag].

Mayfield played for Oklahoma from 2015-2017. During that time, he was 2-1 against the Longhorns. He was also a Heisman finalist in 2016 and won the award in 2017. He has several Oklahoma and Big 12 records to his name as well.

After being drafted No. 1 overall in the [autotag]2018 NFL draft[/autotag], it’s been a rocky road for Mayfield in the NFL. He has had some great highs, such as setting the rookie touchdown passing record and also leading the Cleveland Browns to its first playoff win since 1994 in 2020.

Now Mayfield is playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and is off to a great start. The team was picked to be one of the worst in the NFL, but it is 3-1 and in first place in the NFC South.

Mayfield is completing 69.6% of his passes for 882 yards, seven touchdowns and only two interceptions. The Bucs are on a bye this week, which gave Mayfield a perfect opportunity to make the trip to see his Sooners.

I don’t think there’s any question who he will be picking to win the game on Saturday.

ESPN’s College GameDay headed to Dallas for Oklahoma vs. Texas

All eyes will be on the Cotton Bowl for the 119th Red River Rivalry game as ESPN’s College GameDay will be in attendance in Dallas.

As the Oklahoma Sooners and the Texas Longhorns both wrapped up 5-0 starts to their seasons, it’s now time to look ahead to the greatest rivalry game in college football. The Sooners and the Longhorns will battle it out for the 119th time and also the final time as [autotag]Big 12[/autotag] foes.

Next year both schools will be heading to the [autotag]SEC[/autotag]. This is the first time since the 2011 season both teams will go into this game undefeated. This has historically been a measuring stick game for both schools. It’s the game where you discover what your team is made of.

The Longhorns dominated the Sooners last season, winning 49-0. [autotag]Dillon Gabriel[/autotag] didn’t play due to a concussion he suffered the week before. This year fans hope for a different result.

On hand to watch it all play out next Saturday will be [autotag]ESPN’s College GameDay[/autotag]. They announced Saturday night they will be heading to Dallas for the historic game.

This will be the 10th time the GameDay crew has made the trip to the [autotag]Cotton Bowl[/autotag]. The last time they were there was in 2021, when the Sooners overcame a 28-7 deficit to win the game. That game famously was the coming out party for [autotag]Caleb Williams[/autotag].

This time it feels like the winner sets themselves up perfectly not only for the [autotag]Big 12 Championship[/autotag] game but also for a [autotag]College Football Playoff[/autotag] berth.

Just as the good Lord intended it.

ESPN College GameDay crew makes their picks for Alabama vs. Florida

Do you agree with the crew’s picks?

The ESPN College GameDay crew are up in Penn State for the match up the Nittany Lions have against the Auburn Tigers. When they made their picks for today’s slate of games, they did not spend too long on the Alabama-Florida game.

The Crimson Tide head down to to Gainesville to take on the Gators in an SEC matchup that many have looked forward to since they last played in December for the 2020 conference title game.

The celebrity guest picker for College GameDay was former Penn State running back, and current running back for the New York Giants, Saquon Barkley.

Barkley joined the rest of the crew in choosing the Crimson Tide to win the contest.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to cover Alabama as they take on Florida on the road today.
