The Alan Wake 2 release times are just about here, as Remedy continues the troubled writer’s tale after 13 years of the poor man rattling around in The Dark Space. The survival horror game is Remedy’s first whack at the genre, and half a year after the studio announced its release date, Alan Wake 2 is finally launching on Oct. 27, 2023. The release times are more uniform than usual with multiplatform games, and if you’re really eager to get Alan on your rig as soon as possible, you can preload and save yourself a long download time.

Severed Steel is free on the Epic Games Store

Another holiday PC freebie is up for grabs on Epic’s storefront.

Only a few days of 2022 remain, and Epic is celebrating by giving away another PC game on its storefront.

Right now, Severed Steel is free on the Epic Games Store until Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2022, at 8:00 A.M. PDT // 11:00 A.M. EDT // 4:00 P.M. GMT. You can download it right here.

Severed Steel is a stylish first-person shooter that came out back in the fall of 2021. The reception to this one was pretty positive, as both critics and players praised its destructible environments, slow-mo bullet time, stunt system, and catchy electronic soundtrack. There’s clearly some influence from Titanfall and Max Payne – so it seems well worth checking out.

There are still several days left of the Epic Game Store’s daily holiday giveaways. Some notable freebies thus far include Death Stranding, Wolfenstein: The New Order, and F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch. The promotions only go on for about 24 hours, so the titles mentioned above are not free anymore – pour one out for everybody that missed out.

As the title (obviously) implies, we won’t know exactly which PC games Epic will give away until around 8:00 A.M. PDT.

F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch is free on the Epic Games Store

You can pick up the bizarre Metroidvania for zero dollars and zero cents right now.

Christmas might be over, but Epic is keeping the holiday spirit alive by giving away plenty of brilliant video games on its storefront.

Currently, F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch is free on the Epic Games Store until Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2022, at 8:00 A.M. PDT // 11:00 A.M. EDT // 4:00 P.M. GMT. You can download it right here.

F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch is a Metroidvania with loads of wild platforming elements. It initially came out in the fall of 2021, garnering pretty positive reviews from critics and players alike. So if you’re into old-school stuff like Shinobi or Castlevania — this one might be worth checking out.

It’s worth noting that F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch is the game’s title, despite what the above tweet says.

There are still several more days left of Epic’s mysterious game giveaway. Every morning around 8:00 A.M. PDT, another game will go up for free — usually something great, too. Last week, Wolfenstein: The New Order went up, and over the weekend, Hideo Kojima’s strange parcel-delivering simulator Death Stranding was up for grabs. These promotions only last for roughly 24 hours, so check back here for the details.

Wolfenstein: The New Order is free on the Epic Games Store

An all-time great shooter is up for grabs on Epic’s PC storefront.

‘Tis the season for giving — or at least, Epic is tossing out free PC games like there’s no tomorrow and will keep doing so for a good portion of the holidays.

Currently, Wolfenstein: The New Order is free of the Epic Game Store until Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2022, at 8:00 A.M. PDT // 11:00 A.M. EDT // 3:00 P.M. GMT. It’s a modern-day classic and well worth a playthrough, especially if FPS games with fantastic narratives are something you enjoy! Add it to your library right here – and act fast cause this deal will only last for a short period.

Epic’s mystery holiday giveaway lasts for the next 15 days or so, with a new title going up for free each morning around 8:00 A.M. PDT. We won’t know what games will be up for grabs until the morning reveal, hence the whole ‘mystery’ thing. Starting out with Wolfenstein: The New Order is a sign that plenty of great stuff is coming, though.

Wolfenstein: The New Order is part of the brilliant franchise reboot by Machine Games. It’s not a boomer shooter like, say, Doom or the more recent Metal: Hellsinger, but you’ll likely enjoy it anyways.

Shadow Tactics and an indie adventure are the next Epic free games

The second November Epic free game offerings are Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun and an indie adventure game

The next Epic Free game offering is another set of two games, including a challenging tactical RPG and an indie adventure in the Mediterranean. From Nov. 10, 2022, through Nov. 17, 2022, you can get Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun from Mimimi Games and Ustwo Games’ Alba – A Wildlife Adventure for absolutely nothing on the Epic Games Store.

Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun follows a squad of assassins in the Edo period, recruited by Japan’s new shogun and sent out across the country to enforce peace by whatever means necessary. It puts real-time tactics with stealth in a unique blend that rewards careful attention to detail and mastery of the environment.

What it doesn’t include is the Aiko’s Choice DLC, so if you like the base game, you’ll have to get that separately.

Alba – A Wildlife Adventure, from BAFTA-winning studio Ustwo, drops you onto an island in the Mediterranean as Alba, a young girl visiting her grandparents for the summer. Alba rescues an animal in need and soon discovers the environment could use a bit of a helping hand, so with her grandparents along for the journey, the trio set out across the island to restore its natural habitats.

There’s no rush, though. You can take your time and explore every inch of the island without any negative consequences.

As always with the Epic free games, you can keep your downloads even after the free week comes to an end.

If you’re after more freebies, our list of where to get some high-quality, free PC games is here to help.

Epic announces the next Epic Games Store free game is Toejam & Earl

If you fancy a bit of classic couch co-op action and some ’90s nostalgia, then the next Epic Games Store free game is for you

Epic pulled the curtain back on the next Epic Games Store free game. For the week of Oct. 13, 2022, through Oct. 19, 2022, you can grab Toejam & Earl: Back in the Groove for the low price of nothing at all on Epic’s PC platform. As always with Epic’s offerings, when you redeem the free game, it remains in your account after the free period ends, and you can play it or re-install it whenever.

Back in the Groove released in 2019 as a half-step between a remake of 1991’s original Toejam & Earl on the Sega Genesis and a new game in the series, following a string of failed sequels to the first classic platformer. Critics praised the Kickstarter-funded project for staying true to its origins while adding a handful of meaningful changes and making the couch co-op experience enjoyable again.

ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove! is a mash-up of the very best features of the classic console games with a ton of fresh improvements,” the game’s Epic Games Store description reads. “Grab some homies and get ready for a blast of funky nostalgia as you help ToeJam and Earl return once again to Funkotron.”

Back in the Groove replaces Rising Hell and Slain: Back from Hell on Oct. 13, 2022, but you still have a few days to grab both of those titles before they go back to their normal prices.

Ark: Survival Evolved is free on the Epic Games Store this week

Other upcoming freebies include Runbow and The Drone Racing League.

It’s once again time for another round of freebies on the Epic Games Store. Luckily, everything on offer is looking pretty dang good.

This week, Ark: Survival Evolved is free on the Epic Games Store until Sept. 29, 2022, at 8:00 A.M. PDT // 11:00 A.M. EDT // 3:00 P.M. GMT. It’s an incredibly popular multiplayer crafting title with rideable dinosaurs – what more could you want?

If tactical dungeon crawlers are more of your thing, Gloomhaven is also up for grabs during the same period. The audience reception for this one is pretty glowing, as it’s currently sporting an impressive “Very Positive” overall user rating on Steam.

[mm-video type=video id=01fqpcc5fy4z69j31mar playlist_id=none player_id=none image=https://images2.minutemediacdn.com/image/upload/video/thumbnail/mmplus/01fqpcc5fy4z69j31mar/01fqpcc5fy4z69j31mar-5fd567aebf1e13ea394e4522425d1f3f.jpg]

Next week, Runbow and The Drone Racing League will be free on the Epic Games Store from Sept. 29, 2022, until Oct. 6, 2022. Anyone keen on some casual party-game fun should check out Runbow, which lets up to nine players partake in wild platforming shenanigans. The Drone Racing League is pretty self-explanatory – customize and race drones across various locations. Perfect garage-dad project material, that one is.

That’s it for this week! As a reminder, the Epic Games Store gives away free PC titles every Thursday – and we’ll let you know what’s available well ahead of time!

The Captain will be free on the Epic Games Store next week

Meanwhile, Hundred Days – Winemaking Simulator is up for grabs right now.

Yet again, it’s time to enjoy some freebies courtesy of Epic. Tim Sweeney sure loves making Thursdays slightly more bearable, huh?

This week, Hundred Days – Winemaking Simulator is free on the Epic Games Store until Sept. 15, 2022, at 8:00 A.M. PDT // 11:00 A.M. EDT // 3:00 P.M. GMT. Pretty self-explanatory title: make wine, and sell the product. Interesting spin on the management sim genre, all told.

There’s also the Epic Launch Bundle DLC for Realm Royale Reforged, which is available during that same period. The base game is already free, so scooping up these extra goodies won’t cost you a dime. You can download both titles here.

[mm-video type=video id=01ft4g3zhm9s2z9f6sbb playlist_id=none player_id=none image=https://images2.minutemediacdn.com/image/upload/video/thumbnail/mmplus/01ft4g3zhm9s2z9f6sbb/01ft4g3zhm9s2z9f6sbb-6752bdf5a37c47959fbba00ce0f926a3.jpg]

Next week, The Captain and Spirit of the North will be free on the Epic Games Store from Sept. 15 until Sept. 22, 2022. Both are pretty small indie titles with exciting hooks. The Captain is an old-school point-and-click adventure game in outer space, while Spirit of the North is a third-person puzzler where you play as a fox with magical powers.

That’s about it for this week’s batch of freebies! As a reminder, the Epic Games Store gives away PC games every Thursday. So we’ll always keep you up to date on what’s coming.

Hundred Days will be free on the Epic Games Store next week

Shadow of the Tomb Raider and plenty more are part of Epic’s weekly PC game giveaway.

It’s Thursday, meaning plenty of fresh freebies are available on Epic’s PC storefront once again.

This week, Shadow of the Tomb Raider is free on the Epic Games Store until September 8 at 11:00 A.M. ET/3 p.m. GMT. It’s the definitive version of that title, so you’ll receive all the DLC. While it’s undoubtedly the low point of the Tomb Raider reboot trilogy overall, Shadow arguably plays better than any other entry. For free, this is a no-brainer.

There’s more, though! Submerged: Hidden Depths is during the same period. This one flew under everyone’s radar when it came out back in March; at least the “Very Positive” user ratings on Steam suggest as much. Additionally, the Armazillo DLC for free-to-play brawler Knockout City is also up for grabs. You can download all of these titles here.

Next week, Hundred Days – Winemaking Simulator will be free on the Epic Games Store from Sept. 8 until Sept. 15, 2022. As the title suggests, this game is about winemaking. Growing grapes, smashing them into barrels, fermentation — the whole nine yards. It has a pretty good 74 on Metacritic too, which is especially impressive for such an odd premise.

That’s it for this week’s free titles from Epic! Until next time, friends.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider will be free on the Epic Games Store next week

Lara Croft’s latest outing plus loads more are free on Epic’s storefront very soon.

Aren’t Thursdays lovely? The weekend is well within reach, and Epic’s storefront gets a fresh batch of free games. It’s instant serotonin!

This week, Ring of Pain is free on the Epic Games Store until Sept. 1, 2022, at 8:00 A.M. PDT // 11:00 A.M. EDT // 3:00 P.M. GMT. It’s a roguelike card crawler with loads of dungeons to scrounge around for loot. The artwork is skin-crawling (yet excellent) too. You can download it here.

That’s not all, though. Destiny 2: Bungie 30th Anniversary Pack is free on the Epic Games Store until Aug. 30 at 10:00 A.M. PDT // 1:00 P.M. EDT // 5:00 P.M. GMT. The legendary looter shooter is crossing over with Fortnite too.

[mm-video type=video id=01ft4g3zhm9s2z9f6sbb playlist_id=none player_id=none image=https://images2.minutemediacdn.com/image/upload/video/thumbnail/mmplus/01ft4g3zhm9s2z9f6sbb/01ft4g3zhm9s2z9f6sbb-6752bdf5a37c47959fbba00ce0f926a3.jpg]

Next week, Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition and Submerged: Hidden Depths will be free on the Epic Games Store from Sept. 1 until Sept. 8, 2022. While Shadow is the least popular entry in Tomb Raider‘s reboot trilogy, it’s well worth checking out. Plus, it would be best if you caught up on Lara Croft’s adventures before the next game comes out.

That about does it. Remember, the Epic Games Store offers free titles every Thursday, so keep an eye on this space for all the updates.
