The mystery around why Emma Stone got a Taylor Swift credit on her TTPD song Florida!!!, explained

Wait, what is Emma Stone doing there?

If you look closely at the liner notes for Taylor Swift’s new album The Tortured Poets Department, you’ll notice something interesting for the song Florida!!! (feat. Florence + The Machine). Well, someone interesting rather. Emily Jean Stone is listed for “oddities” under the bop about the Sunshine State.

For those unfamiliar, Emily Jean Stone is the one and only Emma Stone, a longtime friend of the 14-time Grammy winner. It’s unclear what “oddities” really means, as it’s the only credit of that nature on the album. The track features the incredible Florence Welch of Florence + The Machine, and there doesn’t seem to be any additional vocals.

There’s a possibility Stone was just hanging out in the studio when the song was recorded and Swift threw her in the credits as a nod to her buddy. This isn’t the first time Stone has been connected to Swift’s music, either.

Fans think the vault track “When Emma Falls In Love” from 2023’s Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) could be about the La La Land actress, although Swift has never confirmed it.

Regardless, we love “Florida!! (feat. Florence + The Machine) and all its oddities.

Emma Stone won her second Oscar for Best Actress and delivered the most gracious speech

Emma Stone is the best.

Emma Stone has earned her second Academy Award.

After winning in the category in 2017 for La La Land, Stone won Best Actress for her leading role in Poor Things.

Stone was in clear shock over the victory and delivered an incredibly gracious speech where she extolled her fellow nominees and praised her Poor Things team and filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos in particular.

Stone now joins the legacy of women who have won two Oscars for acting, like Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchett, Frances McDormand and Katharine Hepburn.

This was a really moving moment for one of the defining actors of her generation.

The ‘Cruella’ trailer is giving off strong The Joker and Harley Quinn vibes

“Cruella” is … almost definitely NOT a kids movie.

“Cruella” is nothing like we expected.

Disney+ has taken the “101 Dalmatians” franchise and given it a new spin with strong comic book movie vibes. The 2021 film is about the origin story of Cruella de Ville, the antagonist in the 1996 kids movie (and Dodie Smith’s 1956 novel The Hundred and One Dalmatians).

This … is not a kids movie.

American actress Emma Stone will star as Cruella, and the trailer shows her as an anti-hero, with a number of similarities to the DCU comic characters, The Joker and Harley Quinn. Cruella seems unhinged, dark, insidious and dangerous. And then there’s her appearance, with heavy makeup and the half-black, half-white hair. It all feels very much like “The Joker,” the newest version featuring Joaquin Phoenix.

“Cruella” seems to be catered to the young adults who watched the original movie as kids in the mid-90s. And perhaps, it’s an attempt for Disney+ to have a Joker character of their own, even if Warner Brothers owns screen rights to the DCU comics.

The response on social media was strong. People were seeing the connection.

A movie about Cruella seemed like a stretch, at first. But this fresh take seems to have drawn a tremendous amount of interest.
