LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels says his elbow is ‘perfectly fine’

Jayden Daniels says relax. There is nothing wrong with his elbow.

During LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels’ pro day this week in Baton Rouge, a disturbing image emerged concerning his throwing elbow. It all began with a post from NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport.

Remember, this is not an image from his pro day, but sometime last season. He happened to pass for 40 touchdowns and ran for 10 more last season when he won the Heisman Trophy.

So, what is going on with Daniels’ elbow? The image shows some type of growth on his elbow.

A doctor responded to the viral photo and said it appeared that Daniels was dealing with olecranon bursitis in his elbow. He said it is very common and more annoying than concerning.

Here’s the full tweet from the doctor:

Daniels, who is set to be a top-five pick in the 2024 NFL draft, perhaps as high as No. 2 to the Washington Commanders, apparently had enough of the photo and responded that it was essentially much ado about nothing.

There we have it. The man has spoken, and his elbow is fine. NFL teams have not shown any concerns regarding Daniels’ health.

WATCH: Indiana guard ejected for dirty elbow on Max Klesmit after torrid stretch

WATCH: Indiana guard ejected for dirty elbow on Max Klesmit after torrid stretch

Max Klesmit is playing out of his mind again. The veteran guard went on another white-hot stretch tonight against Indiana. Midway through the second half, he’s now up to 23 points on 7/9 shooting and 5/6 from three.

At first, the three-pointers were shades of Kyle Korver shooting over defenders. Then the ensuing dribble moves and crafty passes looked more like Klay Thompson during one of his hot performances. It’s become a true breakout month for the Wisconsin guard.

Klesmit’s dominance in the second half tonight was enough that upon returning to the offensive side of the court, Indiana guard C.J. Gunn threw a dirty elbow while the ball was being walked up the court.

The play was reviewed and Gunn was ejected with a flagrant 2. As many pointed out, he couldn’t guard Klesmit for the last 10 minutes so instead resorted to cheap shots.

Klesmit’s run in essence closed out the game after Indiana had cut the Badgers’ deficit to seven. Wisconsin went on an 18-2 run with the guard’s hot streak, and are currently in position to come away with their sixth conference win of the season.

Seahawks safety Ryan Neal has chance to return in time to face Rams

Despite sustaining elbow and shoulder injuries, Seattle Seahawks safety Ryan Neal has a chance to return in time to face the Rams Week 13.

Seattle Seahawks safety Ryan Neal sustained the team’s only injury Sunday afternoon against the Las Vegas Raiders, leaving the matchup early in overtime.

Coach Pete Carroll was able to provide an update on Neal’s status during his press conference on Monday.

“He’s a little banged up. His elbow is the lead concern, but he did bang his shoulder as well, so we will be taking care of both,” Carroll told reporters. “His elbow is of more concern. They think he’s going to be okay, he might miss a couple of days here, but I think he will have a chance to play this weekend. That’s really good news for what it looked like.

“We were concerned that it might be more than that.”

The Seahawks will need to keep an eye on the safety throughout the week as he recovers from his injuries but hopefully Neal won’t have to miss much time.

Seattle players have an off day Tuesday before returning to practice to prepare to face the Rams on the road in Week 13.

Report: Chiefs LB Anthony Hitchens battling ‘nerve injury’ in right elbow

What #Chiefs HC Andy Reid described as a ‘triceps contusion’ for Anthony Hitchens might actually be more serious according to a new report.

Kansas City Chiefs LB Anthony Hitchens was ruled out of last week’s game with an elbow injury.

During Andy Reid’s Wednesday injury update, he referred to Hitchens’ injury as a “triceps contusion.” Contusion typical refers to a bruise or welt, which doesn’t sound all that serious, given the potential alternatives. However, we’re now learning that Hitchens’ injury might be a bit more serious than initially let on by the Chiefs’ head coach.

According to a report from NFL Network’s Jeffrey Chadiha, Hitchens is dealing with a nerve injury in his elbow.

“Middle linebacker Anthony Hitchens is battling a nerve injury,” Chadiha said on NFL Now on Wednesday. “A nerve issue in his right elbow, that he sustained in that Washington game.”

Nerve injuries in the elbow can be tricky for players to play through. Some could choose to tough it out with a big brace on the elbow, which is certain to be a painful route for a player whose job is to make tackles. Others opt for surgery to repair the injury right away.

Whatever route the Chiefs decide to take, Chadiha anticipates that the team won’t play Hitchens against the Titans in Week 7. His practice status on Wednesday would also suggest that. Instead, Chadiha feels that Nick Bolton will get the nod to start in place of Hitchens, with second-year man Willie Gay Jr. as his primary running mate on defense.

“They’ll probably be starting Nick Bolton, a rookie, at linebacker alongside Willie Gay, a second-year player at linebacker,” Chadiha added.

Whatever the case, it’s looking more and more likely that the Chiefs will be without their typical defensive signal-caller for this week and perhaps beyond. Bolton has played plenty of snaps so far this season, while Gay looks to increase his workload in his third game back from injured reserve. Look for Darius Harris or Christian Rozeboom to potentially be elevated from the practice squad as well.

Seahawks DT Bryan Mone ready to go Week 3 against the Vikings

Seattle Seahawks defensive tackle Bryan Mone is ready to go Week 3 against the Vikings after missing the Titans game with an elbow injury.

Seattle Seahawks defensive tackle Bryan Mone was a full participant in Friday’s practice, a good indication he’ll be available and ready to go Sunday afternoon against the Minnesota Vikings.

Mone impressed in his first outing this season, but was inactive last week for the Titans game as he battled an elbow injury.

“There’s no doubt that we missed him last week,” coach Pete Carroll said Friday. “He’s such a load in the middle, he played so well early. He’s been really consistent for us. We did miss him last week. I’m thrilled to tell you he is playing, and he’ll be ready to go.”

Carroll continued to gush about the defensive tackle and his role for Sunday, when he’s expected to contribute significantly.

“He’s just one of the heart and soul guys in the program and everybody’s favorite, and he plays so darn hard,” Carroll said. “He’ll be a great boost to us. He’ll help Al (Woods) and Poona (Ford) inside and keep the rotation alive like we started of the season.

“Hopefully we’ll get to see a good deal of him and a good rotation with that.”
