Eboni Walker to return to Ohio State women’s basketball team for sixth year

Perhaps a bit unexpected. #GoBucks

Ohio State women’s basketball forward Eboni Walker will be returning to the Buckeye program for a sixth year, as announced on Thursday.

Walker used her COVID-19 year last season to be granted a fifth year, but she was awarded a sixth thanks to limited action because of injury at Syracuse before she transferred to Columbus. Walker’s career started off at Arizona State before she moved on to Syracuse before finding her way in the Scarlet and Gray in 2022.

She appeared in 23 games, averaging 2.4 points in 10.5 minutes per game last season in a bit of a decreased role from the previous year. With the departures on the team, Walker may get an opportunity to carve out a little more playing time in the upcoming campaign.

We’ll continue to keep an eye on the men and women’s basketball roster as they are both built and cemented during the offseason.

Ohio State Women’s basketball add transfer from Syracuse

Ohio State Women add Eboni Walker to an experienced roster poised to make another run this year.

The Ohio State women’s basketball program added another piece to next season’s roster earlier this week. Eboni Walker has committed to the Buckeyes and hopes to help build on the success from last year.

This will be the third stop for Walker who started her collegiate career as a Sundevil at Arizona State in 2019. She then transferred to Syracuse last season but only appeared in six games before an injury ended her year.

The Orange head coach, Quentin Hillsman resigned in early August of 2021 due to allegations of improper behavior and bullying by players. With the team in transition, Walker decided to move in a different direction once more.

Walker has career averages of 6.6 points per game and almost 5 rebounds per game. The Buckeyes return a solid core of players who made a trip to the Sweet 16 falling to No. 2 seed Texas by only three points. Ohio State should have the horses to compete for a Big Ten championship and make another deep run in the NCAA tournament.
