Prediction
Sporting Kansas City 3, San Jose Earthquakes 1
Money line (ML)
SPORTING KC (-154), an overwhelming favorite in this first-round matchup vs. San Jose (+375), is the play on its home pitch in suburban Kansas City. These two last met Aug. 18, 2019, with Sporting KC claiming a 2-1 victory. SKC has won 13 of its past 15 home matches against the Earthquakes across all competitions.
It has won three in a row at home, outscoring the competition by a 7-1 count, including an impressive 4-0 victory against the Colorado Rapids on Oct. 25.
Over/Under (O/U)
The alternate line of OVER 2.5 (-200) is a good bet, albeit a little on the pricey side. Over 2.5 goals has cashed in each of the past four home games against San Jose. Over 3.5 goals (+120) is worth a small-unit play, too, as it is just too tempting to pass up, but confidence is not as high as the latter line.
In addition, take a look at the match result and both teams to score props. SPORTING KC TO WIN AND BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE (+175) is a great play.
