It’s currently unknown if any fans will be in attendance for Philadelphia Eagles football during the 2020 NFL season, but the team has done a good job of keeping season ticket holders updated.

In an email sent to Eagles season-ticket holders on Tuesday, the Birds outlined a potential seating plan for fans amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The email comes amid some uncertainties surrounding the city of Philadelphia and the Eagles outlining a plan for fans to be in attendance after city officials initially stated that sporting events would be played without fans.

Those same officials have now backtracked on the comments but it still remains to be seen if fans will in fact be in attendance.

The NFL season will likely be played as scheduled but we could be facing the first regular-season played without fans because of the risks surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.

With the likelihood of fans not being in attendance, the Eagles are among teams around the league that have given fans the option of opting out of their season tickets for 2020 without losing their ticket privileges beyond this season.

According to NBC Sports Philadelphia, the Eagles communicated the NFL’s refund policy in a previous letter to season ticket holders, deferring payments for this season.

“Previously, you had deferred your 2020 season ticket payment to July 1st. We do not plan to process this payment as scheduled and will communicate additional information regarding the 2020 season following the Fourth of July.”

The Eagles are scheduled to open the preseason on Aug. 13 in Indianapolis, with the first home preseason game scheduled for Aug. 27 against the Patriots. The NFL is currently weighing playing only two preseason games.

The regular-season home opener is Sept. 20 against the Rams.

Eagles postpone season-ticket payments for fans amid the coronavirus crisis

Eagles announced that they’ve postponed season-ticket payments for fans

With the city of Philadelphia and the country battling a pandemic crisis, the Eagles have notified their season ticket holders that they are postponing the next payment for 2020 tickets.

The second payment on tickets was due April 16, but with concerns amid the COVID-19 virus, all future payment installments will be pushed back until the crisis has subsided.

“The timing of future payments will be determined and communicated at a later date,” the Eagles said in an email sent to their season-ticket holders via The Inquirer. “We are closely monitoring developments and will evaluate every option to ensure that you have the flexibility to make your scheduled payments within a reasonable time.

All Eagles and NFL team facilities are currently closed indefinitely because of the virus and the draft process is still expected to happen as planned.
