WATCH: First look at Wisconsin’s pass rush in EA Sports College Football 25

Wisconsin football displayed starting inside linebacker Jake Chaney strip-sacking USC’s starting quarterback in the upcoming EA Sports College Football 25 video game on Tuesday.

In the short clip, USC quarterback Miller Moss fakes a handoff before dropping back for a play-action look. The Trojans’ running back misses his assignment, and UW LB Chaney blitzes and strips Moss before linebacker Jaheim Thomas scoops up the loose ball.

Before Moss takes the snap, Wisconsin’s ‘stadium pulse’ is recorded in the top right corner of the frame in a fascinating on-screen feature. The ‘camera’ also appears to be shaking, alluding to a deafening volume heard throughout Camp Randall Stadium.

During actual games, UW’s student section typically ignites the stadium noise during defensive possessions. This sequence features a strikingly similar sound, which certainly enhances the user experience for Badger fans.

Both Chaney and Thomas spearhead UW’s inside linebacker ratings with an 82 OVR in EA Sports College Football 25. Backups include Christian Alliegro (76 OVR), Tackett Curtis (75 OVR) and Sebastian Cheeks (78 OVR).

Over the past few weeks, several EA Sports College Football 25 clips have been made public before the game releases worldwide on July 19. Anticipation will surely continue to bubble before users can play with Wisconsin across the globe.

Video shows Duke football player doing ‘Bull City’ gesture in EA Sports College Football 25

A Duke fan shared a clip of a Blue Devils football player making the team’s iconic ‘Bull City’ hand gesture in EA Sports College Football 25.

EA Sports really put all the details a college football fan can think of in College Football 25.

Fans who preordered the Deluxe Edition can access the game a few days early, so the content was already hitting social media on Monday night. The game features the expanded 12-team playoff, ratings for individual players, and all the bells and whistles.

One Duke fan posted about getting to play as the Blue Devils on X (the social media platform formerly known as Twitter) and found an iconic detail.

In the brief clip shared to social media, Duke cornerback Joshua Pickett ran up to the camera and put his fists together with his thumbs sticking out on either side, forming the Blue Devils’ ‘Bull City’ gesture.

EA Sports already confirmed that the hand gesture, along with dozens of other specific celebrations for other fanbases, would be in the game earlier in the summer, but actually seeing it makes it so much more real.

Wallace Wade Stadium already appeared in the College Football 25 trailer for Duke fans’ first sneak peek, and the team posted a video revealing all of their uniform combinations in the game.

Penn State defensive lineman feels disrespected by EA Sports College Football 25 rating

Penn State defensive lineman was not happy about his rating in the new college football video game.

College football and video game fans rejoiced this week with the long-awaited, and long-overdue, release of EA Sports College Football 25. The game is the first college football game released by EA Sports in 11 years, and the reviews are suggesting the wait was worth it. For the first time in the history of EA Sports’ line of college football video game titles, current college football games are officially in the game with their name, image, and likeness. Players did have to opt in to be included in the game in exchange for a $600 check and a free copy of the deluxe version of the game.

But now that players are officially in the game, the creators of the game have had to hand out player ratings to each player. Some players are not taking too kindly to their video game rating upon release. Among those feeling turned off by the video game ratings is Penn State defensive lineman Dani Dennis-Sutton. Dennis-Sutton was given an 85 ratings in the game, which didn’t sit well with one of Penn State’s top defensive players heading into the 2024 season.

“85 overall is so disrespectful,” Dennis-Sutton posted on his social media account.

Dennis-Sutton is the seventh highest-rated player on Penn State’s virtual roster. Defensive end Abdul Carter, who switched from linebacker to defensive end this offseason, safety Kevin Winston Jr., and running back Nick Singleton share Penn State’s top rating with a 91 overall rating. Tight end Tyler Warren is the only other player in the 90s with an overall rating of 90.

EA Sports College Football 25 is available now for Sony PlayStation 5 and Microsoft Xbox Series X and S consoles. The game is not available on PC or Nintendo Switch.

Wisconsin star among best safeties in EA Sports College Football 25

Wisconsin star safety Hunter Wohler is tied for the fourth-highest overall rating among his position group in the newly-released EA Sports College Football 25 video game.

The Wisconsin native lands at a 90 overall, the same mark as Purdue’s Dillon Thieneman, Oklahoma’s Billy Bowman Jr. and Iowa’s Xavier Nwankpa. Ohio State’s Caleb Downs (95 OVR) and Georgia’s Malaki Starks (95 OVR) are tied with the highest overall rating among safeties.

Iowa’s Sebastian Castro and Penn State’s Kevin Winston Jr. also landed above Wohler at a 92 and 91 overall respectively. The senior is the No. 84 overall player in the game and the No. 3-ranked strong safety behind Virginia’s Jonas Sanker (92 OVR) and Winston Jr. (91 OVR).

Wohler enters the 2024 campaign after being named First Team All-Big Ten by the Associated Press and leading all Big Ten defensive backs with 120 total tackles in 2023. His 74 solo tackles last season also ranked No. 1 among all qualified defensive backs in college football. The safety’s strong effort led him to becoming the first Big Ten defensive back to record over 110 tackles, a sack and multiple INTs in the same season since 2010.

Alongside Wohler, Wisconsin star cornerback Ricardo Hallman comes in at 91 overall in the video game. Badgers’ starting quarterback Tyler Van Dyke lands at an 83 overall rating, and star wide receiver Will Pauling is ranked at 86 overall. The Badgers are the No. 18-ranked team in the game with an overall rating of 87.

EA Sports College Football 25 became available to the public on July 15.

Julian Edelman’s one-word reaction to ‘College Football 25’ update

This latest “College Football 25” update prompted a one-word reaction from Julian Edelman

Variety is king in football video games, and Kent State might have plenty of it in “EA Sports College Football 25.”

That news surely put a smile on the face of former New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman, who could be looking to pick up the joysticks and relive his former glory days with the Golden Flashes.

According to Barstool Sports’ “Unnecessary Roughness” podcast, Kent State could have as many as 22 helmets in the game.

That much variety should create plenty of interest for players looking for teams to use for their in-game dynasties. Edelman had a one-word reaction to the news on social media.

“Cleannnnnnn,” Edelman posted.

Early access for the game will begin on Monday, July 15, at 4 p.m. ET for players who have preordered the deluxe edition, have EA play or bought the MVP bundle with “Madden 25.”

Everyone else can access the game when it releases worldwide on Friday, July 19.

WATCH: Wisconsin football’s EA Sports College Football 25 entrance revealed

Wisconsin football’s entrance in the upcoming EA Sports College Football 25 has been released in a recent post on X.

The clip coincides with Sunday’s image of Wisconsin’s menu screen and Saturday’s footage of Wisconsin running back Chez Mellusi scoring a 70-yard touchdown against Iowa in a gameplay preview.

The 30-second video opens with Bucky Badger flexing its muscles and hyping-up the crowd, then transfers to a segment featuring Wisconsin players slapping the “the road to championships begins here” emblem on their way toward Camp Randall’s gridiron.

The clip then pans to excited student section spectators before the platoon, surrounded by the student band and cheerleaders, runs onto the field to a raucous home crowd.

Just as it would during a regular home game, “On, Wisconsin!” can be heard from the band as Luke Fickell’s team sprints out the tunnel and onto the turf.

EA Sports College Football 25 will become available to the public on July 19. With multiple teaser trailers and clips appearing on social media platforms as early as May, it’s safe to say Badger fans are more than excited to play as UW online this summer.
