Hawaii vs Duquesne Game Preview

Why Duquesne Will Win

Hawaii is going to need a long, long time to rebuild this back up.

It’s not for a lack of effort, but the offense hasn’t been able to get going in blowout losses to Vanderbilt, WKU, and Michigan, and the defense hasn’t been close.

Duquesne is making the long trip, and as long as it can keep its focus, it has a shot.

The team isn’t getting hit with a slew of penalties, and turnover margin is a positive so far.

The offensive line is doing a nice job in pass protection, and the defensive front is getting behind the line. Hawaii is having a consistency problem, so any disruption screws everything up.

CFN Expert Picks, Week 3

Why Hawaii Will Win

Is anything going right?

For all of the problems, Hawaii is able to control the clock, it cleaned up the turnovers in the blowout loss to Michigan – finding a silver lining in that cloud – and the passing game should work again.

The monster air show numbers aren’t there yet, but the O was able to throw a bit on Vanderbilt and WKU. The run defense has been a bigger problem for the Dukes than the secondary, but Hawaii will keep pressing.

As long as the quarterbacks get a little time, the numbers will come.

Week 3 Schedule, Predictions, Game Preview

What’s Going To Happen

Hawaii hasn’t shown anything yet, but Duquesne doesn’t have the passing game like WKU or Michigan, and it won’t be able to run like Vanderbilt did.

Finally, the Rainbow Warrior offense will start to score, but the Dukes will make this a fight for four quarters.

Florida State vs Duquesne Game Preview

Why Duquesne Will Win

The Dukes are coming off a nice 7-3 season with just enough back to be okay on defense.

Last year’s team was great at keeping the chains moving, it didn’t turn the ball over enough to matter, and was great on the offensive front allowing everyone time to work.

Yes, the skill parts are undergoing a redo, but the quarterback situation is strong with two good options, and three starters return on the strong line. On the other side, the defensive front should be just good enough against the run to not get embarrassed – tackle Maxi Hradecny is a possible problem – but …

Week 0 CFN College Football Expert Picks

Why Florida State Will Win

The Florida State running game should roll, even against a Duke defensive front that should be able to hold up at times.

The offensive line that’s been such a big problem over the last several years should finally be at least decent thanks to all of the returning veterans.

This is the game to open things up a bit and get the offense rolling, and it needs to get up early.

Duquesne will be good this season, but it won’t explode offensively and needs FSU to royally screw up. Don’t turn the ball over, come up with the gashing runs when they’re there, and …

What’s Going To Happen

Be careful here.

Duquesne went out and got a slew of good transfers to help the cause in various areas, enough veterans are back from the team that shocked Ohio last season, and there can’t be any looking ahead by the Noles to the LSU game up next and the ACC opener against Louisville to follow.

There will be a lull when the Dukes look like they might make this interesting, but the FSU ground game will take over and pull away late in the third quarter.

The loss to Jacksonville State last season is too fresh – Florida State will pull away when it needs to.

Former Wisconsin FB Quan Easterling commits to an A-10 school

Former Wisconsin fullback Quan Easterling has committed to the Atlantic 10’s Duquesne University after entering the transfer portal in October.

The Akron, Ohio native was a three-star recruit in the 2019 cycle and was ranked by 247Sports as the No. 1322 player in the class of 2019, No. 102 athlete and No. 57 recruit from the state of Ohio.

Easterling rarely saw the field as a Badger, though figured to be in line to take over a significant share of Wisconsin’s snaps at fullback next season.
