Jason Kelce, Travis Kelce talk about seeing mother on-field after Super Bowl LVII

In an emotional segment on their latest “New Heights Show” podcast, Jason and Travis Kelce talked about the experience of seeing their mother on the field after the Kansas City Chiefs’ victory in Super Bowl LVII. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room when the brothers described what it meant for them to see Donna Kelce on the field after the game.

“The moment I saw mom is when I got really emotional,” the elder Kelce said, holding back tears, “because… man, it was so awesome. You know, she was on top of the world for a week.”

“She was the heavyweight champ, man,” Travis added. “She was on top of it and she shined the whole time, man. That was the coolest part. Mom, you absolutely killed it, dad, you’ve been killing it.”

For Jason Kelce, even though his Philadelphia Eagles lost the Super Bowl, he said he was crying tears of joy because of his mother.

“It was just so cool, man to see, you know to see her get to celebrate in that with us,” Jason reiterated. “It was an awesome moment. I’m just so happy for her, and so happy that, you know, she got her moment, dad got his. So, yeah, I was the only [one], ironically, to lose the Super Bowl. And you [were] crying after the game, and they’re not tears of sadness, you know, they’re tears of joy.”

Clearly, the Kelce Bowl experience was an emotional one for both the center and tight end, and it won’t soon be forgotten, even as both brothers enter the twilight of their NFL careers. While a Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory is a welcome sight for any Kansas City fan, the only shame of the situation is that both of the Kelce brothers couldn’t win together.

Family at the center of Chiefs TE Travis Kelce’s reflection following Super Bowl LVII

#Chiefs TE Travis Kelce reflected on how special this season and Super Bowl LVII have been for him and his family. | from @EdEastonJr

On Sunday night, the Kansas City Chiefs secured their second Super Bowl title in four seasons in thrilling fashion. The always outspoken Travis Kelce fought for his right to party in the game, scoring the Chiefs’ opening drive touchdown on the way to victory.

Kelce faced off with his podcast partner and older brother Jason, marking it the first time brothers have met in battle at the Super Bowl. The younger brother prevailed with the victory, but the week leading up to Sunday proved to be more about the family name than the teams they represented. The All-Pro tight end showed his emotional appreciation for the family during his Super Bowl post-game press conference.

“There’s nothing you can really say to a loved one in that situation like that,” said Kelce as he held back tears at the podium. “You joke around all the time and say that you want to be your brother on the biggest stage ever. But it’s, um, it’s a weird feeling. It’s a weird feeling, and that team has had great leadership and great coaches; Obviously, it came down to the end. And we got all the respect in the world for those Eagles, man, but, um, there’s nothing really I could say to him other than I love him. And that he played a hell of a year, a hell of a season.”

The Kelce brothers started their highly successful “New Heights Show” podcast before the beginning of the season, chronicling their weekly thoughts on everything in football and the world. As everyone got to know the brothers better, the same could be said for their supportive mother, Donna, who made many appearances on top shows discussing her boys ahead of the big game.

“I feel like this was the happiest year of my life, man,” said Kelce. “And both off the field on the field to see my family being in all its glory, get all the flowers. My mom be the center of attention on the Jumbotron before the game on the biggest stage. Being able to get closer with my brother throughout the season and then meet him at the mountaintop it’s the best feeling in the world, man. I’ll tell you what. I don’t know how many I got left, but I’m sure gonna cherish this one forever.”

The emotions were publicly displayed by Kelce, who is usually in party mode after winning a title. Instead, he saw it fit to show his support and appreciation for his family in the twilight of the Kelce Bowl.

Donna Kelce, Travis and Jason’s mom, had a perfect split fit to root on her sons at the Super Bowl

The perfect fit to root on Travis and Jason Kelce.

You knew Donna Kelce — mother to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis and Philadelphia Eagles center Jason and my pick for Super Bowl MVP — wasn’t going to disappoint with what she wore to root them both on at Super Bowl 57 on Sunday.

And that was correct: She tweeted out of a photo of what she was wearing on Sunday. It was a split outfit from top to bottom — half Eagles, half Chiefs, all Kelce, right down to two different sneakers to rep both brothers. Her Mama Kelce bag with their numbers on it? Also perfect.

This is the best and everyone agreed:

Love it all!

What is Donna Kelce’s Super Bowl 57 outfit?

What is Donna Kelce wearing to Super Bowl 57?

When you have sons playing in the Super Bowl, it isn’t easy to pick out your game wardrobe.

Donna Kelce, mom of Travis and Jason, had some help. Her Super Bowl 57 outfit is right down the middle. It had to be with one son as the tight end on the Kansas City Chiefs and the other a center for the Philadelphia Eagles.

No matter what happens at State Farm Stadium on Sunday, one thing is sure: Donna Kelce is a winner.

Jason Kelce’s mom Donna offers a prediction on his NFL playing future

Jason Kelce’s mom Donna offers a prediction on the All-Pro center’s NFL playing future ahead of the Eagles Super Bowl LVII matchup against the Chiefs

Jason Kelce has been taking his career one day at a time for four years now and is on the verge of playing in his second Super Bowl in five years.

Donna Kelce has been an ambassador for Super Bowl LVII, with her two sons making history as the first set of siblings to face off in the league’s biggest game.

While addressing the media recently, Donna Kelce offered a prediction on Jason’s future, telling Jeff McLane of The Inquirer that she doesn’t think he’ll retire at season end.

“I don’t think he’ll retire. This year he’s had more fun than I think he’s ever had.”

A future Hall of Famer, Kelce was recently voted an All-Pro for the fifth time in his career and he’s the anchor of the NFL’s top offensive line and top rushing team.

He also made it clear that the outcome of the Super Bowl will have no direct impact on his playing future as well.

Donna Kelce is the early pick for Super Bowl MVP

She’s the best.

This is the online version of our daily newsletter, The Morning WinSubscribe to get irreverent and incisive sports stories, delivered to your mailbox every morning. Here’s Charles Curtis.

Don’t know if you heard, but Travis and Jason Kelce are the first pair of brothers to face each other in the Super Bowl. No one’s reported this story or really said anything about it or written anything or tweeted about it. Figured I’d fill you in.

But the most important thing to note here is my early Super Bowl MVP pick that has to do with this fact: Donna Kelce.

She’s Jason and Travis’s mom, and I can’t get enough of her. Because you’d think it’d be tough to be their mom and get endless questions about who she’s rooting more for and the like. Even if it’s a happy moment, it can be overwhelming.

But not for Donna! She’s handled everything like a pro and seems to be soaking it all in and delighting in this proud moment for her and he family.

She had a terrific answer last week when asked who she was really rooting for. She’s got that amazing split Eagles-Chiefs Kelce jersey that is just perfect. And on Super Bowl Opening Night — which is always over the top — she showed up with cookies for her kids. She’s all smiles and patient with mics in her face.

Travis had the perfect response when he said “My mom can’t lose” last month, and I’d add that she’s winning Super Bowl week already.

A true MVP!

Quick hits: More from Super Bowl Opening Night … Tony Romo talks about the criticism he’s received … and more.

— So many moments from Monday’s first media availability of the week: Patrick Mahomes forgot about Valentine’s Day. Cooper Manning bonded with Jason Kelce about sibling rivalries. Andy Reid was classy. And Darius Slay ticked off the entire state of Missouri (but he was right about something!).

— Tony Romo says people literally confront him on the street about his awful announcing.

— Tom Brady won’t join the FOX booth until 2024!

Donna Kelce was the best mom ever for bringing cookies to the Kelce brothers’ interview

Nothing can beat moms!

More than most, Donna Kelce might have the best week of anyone coming up.

Her sons, Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs and Jason Kelce of the Philadelphia Eagles, are squaring off in Super Bowl 57. She’s already talked about what it means to see her boys playing in America’s biggest sporting event while the two embrace the “Kelce Bowl” themselves.

About halfway through Super Bowl opening night, the brothers shared the stage during an interview with Michael Irvin. When Mama Kelce was invited up on stage, she simply couldn’t resist her motherly instincts to ensure everyone’s fed.

That’s right: she brought Tupperware filled with cookies.

Leave it to an awesome mom to bring cookies to the Big Important Football Game Show, where everyone’s talking about topics like “legacy” and “growing the sport.”

Is there anything in the world that can beat a caring mom? I’m pretty confident the answer is a firm “no.”

Donna Kelce has perfect solution for rooting for Chiefs or Eagles in Super Bowl LVII

Which team is Donna Kelce rooting for, the #Chiefs or the #Eagles? She came up with a perfect solution to an impossible dilemma.

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce and Philadelphia Eagles C Jason Kelce are set to become the first pair of brothers to play each other in the history of the Super Bowl.

The matchup has created a unique dilemma for the matriarch of the Kelce family and all of their other relatives. Donna Kelce’s support of both her sons has been well-documented throughout the years. She even has a custom Chiefs-Eagles jersey that she wears to games in order to support both of her sons on gameday.

Now that Jason and Travis are playing for all the marbles, she needed a creative solution to figure out who she’ll be rooting for in the Super Bowl. In an appearance on “The Today Show,” Savannah Guthrie asked Donna Kelce point-blank which team she planned to root for in the big game. Her answer was the perfect solution to a unique problem.

“Absolutely, the offense,” Donna exclaimed. “Every time somebody has the ball.”

Travis, of course, plays tight end for Kansas City and Jason plays center for Philadelphia — both positions on the offensive side of the ball. So, sorry to the Eagles and Chiefs defenders out there, you won’t be winning over any fans in the Kelce household for this game. She won’t be rooting for any particular winner, knowing that both of her sons are fierce competitors. She’ll simply be rooting for good performances from both offenses come Super Bowl Sunday.

Travis Kelce was overjoyed for his mom as he got set to face his brother Jason in Super Bowl 57

Mama Kelce must be SO HAPPY about this Super Bowl.

The Kelce brothers will know they’ll have at least one fan cheering them both on when Super Bowl 57 kicks off in February.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and Philadelphia Eagles Jason Kelce are the first pair of brothers to face each other in a Super Bowl.

Their mother, Donna Kelce, will have to split duties rooting for her two sons in the big game. When asked Monday about the upcoming sibling rivalry game, the Kelces mentioned that, while it’s all love between the two, the competitiveness will certainly still be there.

Travis Kelce did point out something that’s undoubtedly true: Mama Kelce will be the real winner on Super Bowl Sunday, no matter what happens.

Indeed, whether it’s the Eagles or Chiefs who hoist the Lombardi Trophy, Donna Kelce will get to celebrate watching one of her sons win another Super Bowl ring.

Jason Kelce won a ring with the Eagles in 2018, and Travis Kelce won a ring with the Chiefs in 2020. They’ll now both be angling for another title, but a big hug from mom postgame feels like a given regardless of the result.
