The Oklahoma City Thunder are reportedly planning on signing Devon Hall of the OKC Blue to a two-way contract, according to Erik Horne of The Athletic.

The Thunder previously signed Luguentz Dort, who was signed to a two-way contract, to a multi-year contract this week, which paved the way for Hall to claim the second two-way spot on the roster. The Thunder will be able to bring up to 17 players into the season restart next month.

Hall, who was the 53rd overall pick by the Thunder in the 2018 NBA Draft, has played the past two seasons with the Blue. He previously signed a two-way contract with the Thunder in September but was eventually waived in December to promote Kevin Hervey.

In 30 games played with the Blue this season, Hall averaged 15.6 points, 5.7 rebounds and four assists in 31.4 minutes per game. He shot 45.5% from the field, including 36% from 3-point range.

The Thunder were likely motivated to sign Hall in order to have as much depth as possible when the season restarts July 30 at the Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Florida.

OKC Blue acquires Devon Hall

Hall had been signed to a Two-Way Contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder but was waived by the team on December 12.

The OKC Blue announced on Monday that they had acquired guard, Devon Hall.

Hall, who had been signed to a Two-Way Contract by the Oklahoma City Thunder, was waived on December 12.

The former second-round draft pick played in five games for the Thunder this season, his best outing coming in a preseason loss at Memphis in which he came off the bench to score 19 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field, and 3-of-6 from beyond the 3-point line.

While signed to the Two-Way Contract, Hall started three games for the Blue, averaging 8.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.3 assists.

To make room for Hall, the Blue announced that they waived Courtney Alexander II. Alexander II appeared in two games this season and averaged 2.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.0 assist in 5.8 minutes per game.

Hall signed with the OKC in February of 2018 after spending the first several months of the 2018-19 season with the National Basketball League of Australia playing for Cairns Taipans.

Oklahoma City signs Kevin Hervey to Two-Way Contract

Hervey has spent the last two seasons with the OKC Blue after being selected by the Thunder with the 57th pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.

The Oklahoma City Thunder has signed Kevin Hervey to a Two-Way Contract.

The team announced the move on Wednesday afternoon, shortly after they made the move to waive former two-player Devon Hall.

Hervey has spent this season with the Thunder’s NBA G-League affiliate, the OKC Blue.

He’s seen action in three games, with two starts. Hervey is averaging a double-double for the OKC Blue, with 19.7 points and team-leading 11.7 rebounds.

In just under 27 minutes per game, Hervey is also averaging 2.33 blocks, 2.33 steals, and 1.3 assists.

In 130-114 win over the Winchester Knicks in November, Hervey notched a double-double, scoring 23 points and pulling down 13 rebounds.

Hervey was selected in the second round of the 2018 NBA Draft with the 57th overall pick.

He played his rookie season with the OKC Blue, and in 32 games averaged 10.9 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.31 blocks in 22.4 minutes per game.

According to the team press release, the terms of the contract were not released, per organization policy.

Thunder waives Devon Hall

In five total appearances for Oklahoma City, Hall totaled five points and three assists in 20 minutes of game time.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have waived former second-round draft pick, Devon Hall.

The team announced the move on Wednesday afternoon.

Hall was signed to a two-way contract on September 4 of this year and played in five games this season for the Thunder.

His best outing for Oklahoma City came in a preseason 124-119 loss to Memphis. In that game, he came off the bench to score 19 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field, and 3-from-6 from beyond the three-point line.

In his five appearances, Hall scored a total of five points and dishing out three assists in 20 total minutes of game time.

In three starts for the OKC Blue, Hall averaged 8.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.3 assists.

The Thunder selected Hall out of the University of Virginia with the 53rd pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.

Instead of signing with Oklahoma City, Hall spent part of 2018 in the National Basketball League of Australia with the Cairns Taipans. There Hall started in 19 games making 28 appearances, averaging 9.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.5 assists in 28.9 minutes per game.

He returned to the United States in February 2018 and signed with the Thunder’s NBA G-League affiliate.

Rapid reax: Three takeaway’s from OKC’s 111-85 loss to the Pacers

The Thunder struggled offensively against Indiana, had some personnel issues that allowed Devon Hall to see his first NBA action, and shot well from the free-throw line.

There aren’t a ton of positives to come out of the Thunder’s first lopsided loss of the 2019-20 season, a 111-85 drubbing at the hands of the Indiana Pacers.

But here are three rapid reactions.

Oklahoma City’s shooting wasn’t just cold, it was downright frigid.

When Steven Adams missed a six-footer to start the game, it should’ve been a sign that the Thunder were in for a long night. OKC missed their first five shots from the floor and never recovered.

Their only lead came at 12-10 with 6:30 to play in the first quarter.

As noted by The Oklahoman‘s Joe Mussatto, OKC’s three-guard lineup of Chris Paul, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Dennis Schröder that has been so effective at times this year, combined to shoot only 8-of-28 from the floor. The trio accounted for 27 of the team’s 85 points.

Even Danilo Gallinari, who led the team with 14, had a quiet night and missed all of his three-point attempts.

Devon Hall made his NBA debut.

Hall saw limited time in Tuesday night’s loss, but it’s still good experience for the guard out of Virginia that the Thunder signed to a two-way contract.

He played for seven minutes and took only one shot, which he made, a layup with 5:55 left to play in the game.

Hey, the free throw shooting was good.

Usually, the free throwing shooting is something that stands out as a glaring negative on the post-game stat sheet.

Tuesday, it was one of the best things about the box score.

Oklahoma City shot 87.5% from the charity stripe, making 21-of-24. Gallinari was a perfect 8-for-8, Gilgeous-Alexander a perfect 4-for-4 and Abdel Nader and Dennis Schröder hit both of their attempts.

The biggest issue with the free throw shooting was that both Chris Paul and Hamidou Diallo, guards that need to be taking to the basket and getting fouled, didn’t take any free throw attempts.
