Texas A&M Football Recruiting: several 2024 prospects recently placed the Aggies in their Top program lists

Texas A&M received much attention last week, as several 2024 prospects placed the Aggies among their top preferred programs lists.

Texas A&M’s 2024 recruiting class quite literally exploded (in a good way) in the last two weeks of June, as the now 13th-ranked class, according to 247Sports team rankings, adding the likes of WR Drelon Miller, OT Weston Davis, LB Tyanthony Smith, Edge Gabriel Reliford since Monday, and to kick off July, four-star wide receiver Jaylan Hornsby committed to Aggies on Saturday afternoon.

So far, 15 prospects, including two quarterbacks, three wide receivers, three offensive linemen, one tight end, two defensive linemen, one safety, and three, and yes, three blue-chip linebackers, which is certainly a sight for sore eyes for every Aggie fan reading this. With full steam ahead, Jimbo Fisher and his staff set their sights on several priority prospects, including five-star wide receiver prospects Terry Bussey and Cam Coleman, who remain slight favorites to land with the Aggies when all is said and done.

Last week amid the flurry of commitments, several blue-chip prospects in the 2024 cycle released their top program lists. By the looks of it, nothing is Fisher as July presents a litany of opportunities to continue this momentum ride. Here are five 2024 prospects who recently placed Texas A&M in their top program lists.

Alabama lands in top-six for 2024 RB Derrick McFall

2024 running back Derrick McFall revealed his top-six schools on Monday. The Tide extended an offer to McFall in April of 2022.

Running back Derrick McFall of the 2024 class released his top schools list on Monday. Alabama was one of the six programs that made the cut.

McFall plays for Tyler High School in Tyler, Texas. While playing football for the Lions, he also plays basketball and runs track. As a freshman, McFall ran a 10.91 in the 100-meter.

As a junior, he also starred on the gridiron for the Lions. McFall had 44 carries for 218 rushing yards and a touchdown last season. He also played quarterback and threw for 445 yards and four touchdowns.

He is a versatile athlete who can contribute at the next level in many ways. His speed and athleticism will present challenges for opposing defenses at the next level. That is likely something that caught Alabama’s eyes with McFall’s skillset.

At this time, Texas A&M is trending to land a commitment from McFall at 93.9% likelihood, according to On3’s RPM. That is likely a result of him taking eight unofficial visits to College Station.

While it will not be easy to pry McFall away from his home state, Alabama still has plenty of time to do so.

2024 4-star Athlete Derrick McFall receives a prediction to land with Texas A&M

According to one recruiting expert, 2024 4-star Athlete Derrick McFall has received a prediction to land with Texas A&M

It looks like things are officially heating up between Texas A&M and 2024 4-star athlete Derrick McFall according to one recruiting expert, as On3’s Marshall Levenson has logged a prediction for McFall to land with the Maroon and White ahead of his impending commitment announcement.

This week, McFall listed the Aggies among his Top 6 program list among Florida, Louisville, Texas, Alabama, and TCU, as the Tyler, Texas native might just be the most versatile offensive weapon in the entire 2024 recruiting cycle. Texas A&M offered McFall back in January of the last year, followed up with a school camp appearance that summer, and an unofficial visit to College Station just last month on March 4.

According to On3, McFall is positioned as the 11th-ranked Athlete, and 44th-ranked player in the 2024 class, currently projected at a 93.9% consensus mark to land with the Maroon and White.

Expected to shift to the running back position at the collegiate level, McFalls’ 5-10 175-pound frame fits the mold of today’s back who is also a threat in the passing game, and efficient in pass protection. His rare athletic traits in combination with his second-gear speed and initial quickness paired with top-notch football intelligence are the reasons why McFall is one of the most sought-after prospects in the state of Texas.

Another day, another top schools list for Florida’s football recruiting efforts.

Another day, another top schools list for Florida’s football recruiting efforts. This time, the Gators made the cut for four-star running back/athlete Derrick McFall out of Tyler (Texas) in the 2024 class, who has the Orange and Blue among his six preferred collegiate destinations, On3’s Chad Simmons reported.

The 5-foot-10-inch, 175-pound prospect announced his top six on Monday night, which also included the Alabama Crimson Tide, Louisville Cardinals, TCU Horned Frogs, Texas Longhorns and Texas A&M Aggies.

“I feel like this was the perfect time to narrow it down so I can find that home and get the bond tight with that school,” the high school junior told On3. “These six stand out more because they’re the main schools I hear contact from. They show love and kept it real with me each time we spoke.

“It’s very close between three or four because they’ve all shown so much love since the beginning of my recruitment. My official visits will be a game changer for figuring out where I belong and where I feel the most wanted.”

McFall is ranked No. 274 overall and No. 21 at running back nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 industry ranking has him listed as an athlete at Nos. 246 and 11, respectively. Texas A&M is currently the overwhelming favorite for his commitment according to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine with a 93.9% chance of landing him.
