Owen Pappoe to reportedly miss the Senior Bowl due to a torn labrum

He is expected to be healthy for the NFL Combine and to not need surgery despite the injury.

[autotag]Owen Papppoe[/autotag]’s offseason of preparing for the NFL draft has reportedly experienced a setback with the former Auburn linebacker suffering a torn labrum, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel.

Thamel is also reporting it is a “SLAP tear” tear and that while Pappoe will miss the Senior Bowl he will not require surgery and should be a full participant in the NFL Combine and Auburn’s Pro Day.

The former five-star recruit was a four-year starter for the Tigers and was twice voted as a team captain. He made 256 tackles, 15.0 tackles for loss, 8.0 sacks, and defended nine passes in his times on the Plains.

Pappoe’s athleticism allows him to do everything from rush the passer to drop back in coverage, which is one of the reasons ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. has him listed as his No. 6 inside-linebacker prospect in the draft.

The 2023 NFL Draft will take place in Kansas City, Missouri, and start on April 27 with the first round. Pappoe is one of several Tigers looking to hear their names called, including [autotag]Derick Hall[/autotag], who is a projected second-round pick.

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Browns add speedy Jalin Hyatt to create verticality offensively

The Browns have eight picks to make a difference to their roster.

The season is essentially over for the Cleveland Browns after they lost to an underwhelming New Orleans Saints team on Christmas Eve. This means we are fully onboard toward the 2023 NFL Draft. The first start to that is an uptick in 2023 NFL Mock Drafts as we fantasize about filling all of the holes on the Browns’ roster this Spring.

Again, the Browns do not have a first round pick after the Deshaun Watson trade and are not set to come on the clock until the 42nd overall pick in the draft at this point. Regardless, they have eight picks to move around, fill gaps on their roster, and improve the team.

Who do the Browns land in this 2023 NFL Mock Draft?

It appears that [autotag]Derick Hall[/autotag] is not the only Tiger receiving praise from ESPN’s Mel Kiper.

Hall was listed as a top outside linebacker ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft, checking in at No. 6 on the list. In another position-ranking list, another Auburn defender is gaining attention.

[autotag]Owen Pappoe[/autotag] recorded 257 tackles during his four-year career on the Plains and recorded 8.5 sacks. His career was noteworthy according to ESPN draft expert Mel Kiper, who lists Pappoe on his top-10 inside linebackers list at No. 8.

The NFL Draft begins on April 27 with first-round coverage. The second and third rounds will take place on April 28, and the final three rounds will unfold on April 29. The 2023 NFL Draft will take place in Kansas City, Missouri.

Derick Hall among top outside linebackers on Mel Kiper’s draft board

Hall is going to improve one NFL team’s defense.

[autotag]Derick Hall[/autotag] was one of Auburn’s top defensive players during his four-year career. Now, it is time to move to the next chapter.

Hall announced his intention to declare for the NFL Draft on Dec. 6 with a heartfelt video that he released on Twitter. Since it has become official, ESPN NFL Draft expert Mel Kiper has high expectations for Hall.

Kiper recently released his top 25 players on the board, as well as the top 10 outside linebackers that are eligible to be drafted. Hall checks in on the list at No. 6, ahead of LSU‘s B.J. Ojulari and UCLA’s Laiatu Latu.

Hall joins a stellar list of top linebackers, as Nolan Smith from Georgia and Michigan‘s Mike Morris are also on the list. Alabama‘s Will Anderson is at the top of the list.

Hall recorded 146 total tackles and 19 sacks during his Auburn career that spanned from 2019-22. He made 60 total tackles in 2022, with his season-best being at Ole Miss on Oct. 15, when he made ten. He also recorded two sacks on two different occasions, once against Missouri on Sept. 24 and again on Nov. 5 against Mississippi State.

Six Auburn Tigers make Phil Steele’s All-SEC team

Four defensive players, one offensive player and one special teams player made the cut.

Players on Auburn’s 2022 team continue to receive accolades during college football’s postseason.

Sports writer Phil Steele, who is known for his yearly College Football Preview magazine, released his All-SEC picks on Friday. The list featured six different Auburn players on his second, third and fourth teams consisting of four defensive players, one offensive player and one special teams player.

Defensive end Derick Hall is thus far the center of Auburn’s award-winning talents, being named to an All-SEC team earlier in the month. Hall was given his due in Steele’s list, too, but it also features other Auburn players that haven’t gotten as much attention.

Take a look at which Tigers received their honors below:

Chiefs reinforce trenches in Draft Wire’s latest 2023 mock draft

Our friends at @TheDraftWire have the #Chiefs grabbing a hulking offensive tackle and a speedy edge rusher in their latest 2023 mock draft.

With college football’s regular season coming to a close, we’re that much closer to the 2023 NFL draft season. For our friends at Draft Wire, it’s always draft season, but they’ve got a brand new mock draft celebrating bowl season.

Luke Easterling’s recent two-round projections have the Kansas City Chiefs investing in the trenches on both sides of the ball. Keep in mind that these projections use the latest pick order updated after Week 13’s results.

Who is being projected to be a future member of the Chiefs? Let’s take a look:

Derick Hall named to All-SEC First Team

Hall was the only Auburn player named on the list.

It was a disappointing season for the Auburn Tigers, but that doesn’t mean there was nothing to praise on the Plains.

Edge rusher [autotag]Derick Hall[/autotag] was named to the Coaches All-SEC First Team on Tuesday. The nomination is Hall’s maiden First Team nod (he was named to the All-SEC Second Team in 2021) and comes on the day he announced his intentions to declare for the NFL Draft.

Hall netted seven sacks and 12 tackles for loss in his last season as a Tiger. Hall was a rotational player for his first two years at Auburn, but he became a dominant edge rusher during a junior year where he recorded nine sacks and terrorized Alabama quarterback Bryce Young during the team’s matchup with the Alabama Crimson Tide. Hall is expected to be a high draft pick in the 2023 NFL draft and is currently the fifth-highest-ranked edge rusher on the Draft Network’s big board.

Hall was the only Auburn player to be named with Coaches All-SEC honors.
