Ryan Ramczyk, a former offensive tackle for Wisconsin, may not suit up this season for the New Orleans Saints due to medical reasons.
Following NFL ownership meetings on Tuesday, head coach Dennis Allen informed reporters of Ramczyk’s struggle after undergoing knee surgery.
Ramczyk transferred to Wisconsin in 2015 after two seasons at UW-Stevens Point. After his redshirt season in 2015, the Stevens Point native netted consensus first-team All-America honors and allowed one sack in 14 games for the Badgers.
The tackle has started 101 games in seven seasons with the Saints and was a first-team All-Pro in 2019.
The #Saints are preparing for the real possibility that OT Ryan Ramczyk is medically not able to play this season, sources say. Coach Dennis Allen alluded to Ramczyk’s knee not responding as they hoped, and it’s unclear when or if it will. A true question mark. pic.twitter.com/KJpVwvYKGm

Ramczyk last played on December 10, 2023 in a win against the Carolina Panthers. If he misses significant time this coming season, quarterback Derek Carr will take snaps without one of the team’s most dependable tackles over the past decade.
