Michigan State star chooses Memphis as transfer destination

Michigan State women’s basketball star DeeDee Hagemann made the decision to transfer out of the Spartans program this offseason. A 5-foot-7 point guard, she averaged 12.3 points and 5.2 assists per game last season.

Originally committing to Ole Miss this offseason, Hagemann reopened her recruitment and has found a new home, heading to Memphis to play for the Tigers.

Former Michigan State women’s basketball star rescinds transfer commitment from Ole Miss

DeeDee Hagemann won’t be transferring to Ole Miss after all

Michigan State women’s basketball lost their best player from last season to the transfer portal back in March, and it looked like DeeDee Hagemann was set to head to Ole Miss via the portal, but that decision was rescinded on Friday.

Hagemann has decommitted from Ole Miss and will now re-open her recruitment. This comes one day after she signed with a new NIL agency. As  one of the biggest names still available, she will command a high NIL payout on the open market.

Michigan State women’s basketball G DeeDee Hagemann enters NCAA transfer portal

Michigan State women’s basketball just had one of their best seasons of late, but received some unfortunate news this weekend when star guard DeeDee Hagemann announced that she would be entering the NCAA transfer portal.

In three seasons for the Spartans, Hagemann became one of the best players and leaders on the team. This past season, Hagemann averaged 12.3 points, 5.2 assists, 2.4 rebounds, and one steal per game while shooting 41-percent from three.

Michigan State women’s basketball has three players named to All-Big Ten team by the coaches

Michigan State women’s basketball has three players named to All-Big Ten team

Michigan State women’s basketball has had a bit of a coming out party this year under first year Spartan head coach Robyn Fralick, going 22-7 on the season and coming in fourth place in a very competitive Big Ten Conference.

The Spartans were led by their three stars on the team, Julia Ayrault, DeeDee Hagemann, and Moira Joiner, and all three were named to All-Big Ten teams.

Julia Ayrault was the lone Spartan on the First Team, while Hagemann and Joiner were named to the Second Team. We’ve also covered that Theryn Hallock was named the Big Ten Sixth Player of the Year.

Michigan State Women’s basketball drops thriller to Iowa on Caitlin Clark buzzer beater

It took 40 points and a buzzer beater from Caitlin Clark to beat the Spartans in Iowa City

All eyes were on Michigan State Women’s basketball on Tuesday night when they traveled to Iowa City to face the No. 4 ranked Iowa Hawkeyes.

The Spartans fell just short, 76 to 73, but it took a Caitlin Clark buzzer beater (and a questionable foul call) to make it happen for the Hawkeyes, and MSU showed that they are becoming a force to be reckoned with in the Big Ten under new head coach Robyn Fralick.

The story of the game will, of course, be Caitlin Clark. The Iowa star dropped 40-points on the night, but the Hawkeyes needed it from her as MSU gave them a major challenge.

For the Spartans, Julia Ayrault led the way in scoring with 16 points. To me, this was also a star-making night for DeeDee Hagemann, who had 14 points, 4 assists, and 3 rebounds. Hagemann is a true floor general for the Spartans and as a junior she is really coming into her own and leading this team.

While this was a night where all the attention will probably go to (and perhaps rightfully so) Caitlin Clark, MSU showed that they can hang on the road with one of the best teams in the country.
