Baltimore Ravens sign Deadrin Senat to a one-year deal

The Ravens are adding depth to the defensive tackle position and signed veteran Deadrin Senat ahead of Week 2 of OTAs.

Baltimore has six available defensive tackles on the roster.

Senat, who was 6-foot-1 and 305 pounds, was a third-round pick by the Falcons in 2018.

He spent three seasons in Atlanta before being released and signed with the Buccaneers in 2022, where he spent time on the practice squad and active roster, logging 52 tackles, one sack, and one fumble recovery in 37 career games.

Bucs elevate LB J.J. Russell, DT Deadrin Senat to active roster

The Bucs will potentially have some extra depth options with DT Calijah Kancey and LB SirVocea Dennis out for Monday’s matchup.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced two roster moves ahead of their Week 3 showdown against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday.

The Bucs are set to elevate linebacker J.J. Russell and defensive tackle Deadrin Senat to the team’s active roster ahead of the matchup. The moves like correspond with LB SirVocea Dennis and DT Calijah Kancey being listed as out on Saturday’s injury report and could serve as insurance for their absence.

Russell, who was signed to Tampa Bay’s practice squad at the end of the preseason after a series of strong performances, has already been elevated once before in Week 2 versus the Bears. Per NFL rules, he can only be elevated to the active roster one more time this year before he has to be either signed to the 53-man roster or must be cut and pass through waivers before being able to be elevated again.

Senat was on Tampa Bay’s practice squad last year, and he made a return earlier in the month when running back Chase Edmonds was placed on Injured Reserve, allowing DT Pat O’Connor to be elevated to the 53-man roster. How long he stays with the Bucs is unclear, but he has been called up for tonight’s matchup.

Bucs make three roster moves Wednesday ahead of Week 3

Chase Edmonds headed to Injured Reserve and two other corresponding moves were made Wednesday.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have made a few different roster moves ahead of their Monday Night Football matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The team announced Wednesday that it is putting running back Chase Edmonds on Injured Reserve, which is set to sideline him for at least four weeks. In corresponding moves, the team signed defensive lineman Pat O’Connor to the active roster and re-signed DL Deadrin Senat to the practice squad to fill the spot that Connor leaves.

Edmonds suffered an MCL injury against the Chicago Bears that put him on IR — prior to that, he had two carries for 12 yards in the game. O’Connor has been a notable special teams player for Tampa Bay in recent years, and he finds himself on the active roster after initially being left off of it before the season started. Senat returns to the Bucs’ practice squad after being cut from the team entirely in 2023, re-entering the role he had with Tampa Bay at the beginning of 2022.

Bucs re-sign defensive DT Deadrin Senat

Senat’s re-signing shows the team’s continued interest in defensive line depth.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have brought back yet another defensive depth piece.

Greg Auman of FOX Sports reported on Tuesday that the team intends to bring back defensive tackle [autotag]Deadrin Senat[/autotag], who signed with the Bucs in 2022. Senat was initially a practice squad member for the team but was called up to active duties later in the year.

Senat first played for the Falcons from 2018-2021, where he was a third-round pick. He’s only had playing time in three years of his career, with his most being 15 games in Atlanta in 2018 — there, he recorded 30 total tackles. He played in 12 games for the Bucs in 2022 and recorded 17 total tackles and a sack.

Senat’s re-signing showcases a point of emphasis for the Bucs, as the team has brought back defensive tackle Pat O’Connor and signed Greg Gaines in free agency.

Falcons have waived/injured DL Deadrin Senat

The Atlanta Falcons waived/injured defensive tackle Deadrin Senat on Sunday, according to the NFL’s transaction wire.

The Atlanta Falcons waived/injured defensive lineman Deadrin Senat on Sunday, according to the NFL’s transaction wire. Senat, a third-round pick out of South Florida back in 2018, failed to make an impact over his three seasons in large part due to injuries.

The 27-year-old played in 22 games for the Falcons, recording 34 tackles, four QB hits and a fumble recovery. If no other team claims Senat, he’ll end up back on Atlanta’s injured reserve list.
