Former Auburn WR finds new home at in-state school

The Birmingham-area native is moving closer to home after spending one season on the Plains.

After spending one season on the Plains, one former Auburn wide receiver is making a move to be closer to home.

[autotag]Dazalin Worsham[/autotag], who was a part of the 2022 roster after transferring in from Miami, has announced that he will be staying in-state, and will transfer to UAB. Worsham is a native of Trussville, and will now play college football 15 miles away from his hometown.

In his lone season at Auburn, Worsham was used sparingly. He reeled in one catch for eight yards against Arkansas on Oct. 29 and returned a total of four punts for 25 yards. According to Pro Football Focus, Worsham took part in 51 plays during the season and ended the season with a grade of 65.8.

Worsham becomes the fifth Auburn player to find a home since entering the transfer portal, and the second to make the move to UAB. Earlier this month, CB [autotag]A.D. Diamond[/autotag] announced that he would also be playing for the Blazers.

Other players to find homes include [autotag]Zach Calzada[/autotag] (Incarnate Word), [autotag]Trey Lindsey[/autotag] (Albany), and [autotag]Keiondre Jones[/autotag] (Florida State).

2022 Transfer Profile: Koy Moore

Koy Moore is Auburn’s ninth addition through the transfer portal this offseason.

Auburn was dangerously thin at wide receiver during spring practice, having just seven scholarship wide receivers on campus.

Bryan Harsin and the rest of the coaching staff knew they needed to land multiple wide receivers from the transfer portal and with the addition of [autotag]Koy Moore[/autotag] they have done just that.

Moore, a transfer from LSU, committed to the Tigers Saturday night and is the second receiver to transfer in this offseason, following former Miami wide receiver [autotag]Dazalin Worsham[/autotag].

Moore had a strong freshman season but fell out of the rotation as a sophomore and decided to enter the portal. He has three years of eligibility remeaning and brings speed to the wide receiver position.

He will have a chance to earn a starting spot at wide receiver as Auburn overhauls the positions under position coach Ike Hilliard.

Here is what you need to know about Auburn’s latest addition at wide receiver.

Former Miami Hurricane WR with Alabama ties Dazalin Worsham enters transfer portal

The star receiver from Trussville, Alabama may look for a return to his home state.

Dazalin Worsham has entered the transfer portal after two years with the Miami Hurricanes program. Worsham is from Trussville, Alabama and was originally committed to Coach Saban and Alabama out of high school, and they will be certainly in the running again.

Worsham is a 6-0, 185-pound receiver who was formerly a three-star recruit. Due to a change at the head coaching position and a lack of playing time in Coral Gables, Worsham decided it was best to find a new home.

Through two collegiate seasons, Worsham saw action in just one game in 2020 and has yet to record any statistics. However, Worsham was turning heads during spring ball this year.

Transferring to Alabama would help provide a jumpstart to Worsham’s collegiate career, and for Alabama it would provide some depth in an inexperienced receiving room. Worsham would join [autotag]Jermaine Burton[/autotag] and [autotag]Tyler Harrell[/autotag] as the third receiver to make the leap of faith.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to cover Worsham’s journey through the NCAA transfer portal and how that impacts the Crimson Tide.

Over weekend, Miami lost commitments of 3 players but got one from 4-star WR Dazalin Worsham

It was not a good weekend for Miami, who had three players decommit — though the Hurricanes did secure the commitment of four-star wide receiver Dazalin Worsham.

Miami football did not have a good week. In losing two commits on Nov. 17 and 18 and then three recruits decommitting from the program after the loss to Florida International University, it was relatively disastrous.

There was one bright spot, though: the commitment of four-star wide receiver Dazalin Worsham.

The weekend actually started bright for the Hurricanes. On Friday, Worsham posted a video to Twitter announcing his commitment to Miami.

The Hewitt-Trussvile (Alabama) High School athlete broke out as a sophomore, catching 70 receptions for 856 yards and nine touchdowns. He improved on those numbers as a junior, getting 87 receptions, 1,022 yards and 13 touchdowns. Through 10 games this year, he has 427 yards and six touchdowns, according to Maxpreps.

But after losing to FIU on Saturday, a defensive lineman and pair of four-star wide receivers decommitted.

Tre’von Riggins, listed on 247Sports as a three-star defensive end and the No. 90 player in Florida, decommitted.

The next day, Jacolby George and Romello Brinson announced they would not be attending Miami either.

Brinson tweeted:

From George:

This ended a disappointing eight-day stretch in which three-star defensive back Daran Branch flipped to Ole Miss on Sunday and four-star wide receiver Marcus Fleming decommitted Monday before the FIU game and subsequent decommitments.

Miami’s 2020 class is now No. 17 in the country. The 2021 class is still No. 2, as the Hurricanes have 10 recruits committed to the program in that year.
