Michigan State football hires Darrius Sims as new quality control coach

Michigan State football adding Darrius Sims as new Quality Control Coach

Michigan State football is busy at the Big Ten media days and getting ready for preseason camp to start next week. That didn’t stop the program from announcing a new hire to Mel Tucker’s staff.

Darrius Sims is joining Tucker’s staff as the quality control coach.

Sims most recently worked as an analyst and scout for his alma mater, Vanderbilt, before joining the Spartans. Sims played in every game he suited up for at Vanderbilt from 2013-16 as a running back, wide receiver and kick returner.

As a quality control coach, Sims will be responsible for watching film and putting together statistical analysis for MSU about their upcoming opponents that will inform game plans and preparation.
