Blue-chip defensive lineman target sets official visit date with Florida

The first weekend on June in Gainesville is gonna be LIT. 🔥

Florida football’s June recruiting schedule is brimming over with a plethora of prep prospects from around the country — both of the official and unofficial visit variety — and as the month draws near, the list of names continues to grow.

The latest member of the 2024 class to schedule an official visit with the Gators is four-star defensive lineman [autotag]D’antre Robinson[/autotag], who told On3 Wednesday that he has his OV set in Gainesville for the opening weekend of June. The Ohio State Buckeyes host him the following weekend on June 8, while the Texas Longhorns get him on June 16 and the Georgia Bulldogs on June 23.

“I talk to them every day; I speak with all of them,” Robinson told Gators Online ahead of his UF visit in March. They text me good morning, ask me how my day went and stuff like that.

“That’s my dream school. I grew up loving the Gators, so me being able to put on that uniform is a dream come true.”

The 6-foot-4-inch, 300-pound lineman is ranked No. 309 overall and No. 33 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 384 and 34, respectively. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine has Florida in front for his commitment with a 30.0% chance of signing him, followed by Texas (17.7%), Ohio State (11.4%) and Miami (6.5%).

LSU offers 4-star defensive lineman from Orlando

LSU’s coaching staff is looking to bolster the defensive line in the 2024 recruiting class.

LSU’s coaching staff is looking to bolster the defensive line in the 2024 recruiting class. That search has led them to Orlando for a 4-star Florida target.

[autotag]D’antre Robinson[/autotag] is a 6-foot-4, 300-pound, four-star defensive lineman who plays for Jones High School. The Jones Tigers finished the 2022 season 11-3 with a loss to Homestead in the 3M State Semifinals.

There are currently no Crystal Ball projections for Robinson but Florida is a 34% favorite to land him per On3.

Oklahoma offers four-star interior defensive lineman D’Antre Robinson out of Florida

Oklahoma continues to plant its feet firmly in the Florida recruiting landscape as they offer four-star defensive tackle, D’Antre Robinson.

Florida was very lucrative to the Oklahoma Sooners in the class of 2023. With the staff’s comfort recruiting in the Sunshine State, it makes sense they would be right back there for the class of 2024.

The Class of 2023 gave the Sooners CB Makari Vickers (early enrollee), DL Derrick LeBlanc (early enrollee), LB Lewis Carter, WR Keyon Brown, and defensive lineman Markus Strong. All are from Florida. With that success, why would Oklahoma not go back to the well?

The Sooners believe they can replicate that success in 2024 and reached out to offer four-star defensive tackle D’Antre Robinson out of Orlando, Florida.

Robinson is a true space eater in the interior. He has decent lateral quickness and is disruptive at the point of attack. Robinson’s natural strength allows him to stonewall opposing offensive linemen and effectively eliminate them from moving him off his spot. That frees up his teammates to go and make plays and attack the ball carrier.

He played AAU basketball. The athleticism required to play basketball at that level is on full display. With his frame, it is reasonable to believe he could still add anywhere from 10-15 pounds if necessary. The extra pounds would help significantly if he plays along the interior for an SEC team.
