Injury Report; D’Angelo Russell (quad contusion) ruled out vs. Wizards

D’Angelo Russell will miss the third game of the Warriors’ five-game road trip in Washington with a quad contusion.

Since the start of the 2020 New Year, the Golden State Warriors have mightily struggled, losing 13-of-15 games. Yet, the team looked to be turning things around with a win 131-115 win in Cleveland amid their five-game east coast road swing.

However, for the Warriors, things got tougher in game three of the trip in Washington. D’Angelo Russell has been ruled out against the Wizards with a quad contusion.

Washington will be Russell’s 19th game of the season he’s missed due to injury. A flurry of different ailments has taken the former Eastern Conference All-Star out of games this season, including a shoulder, thumb, ankle and now quad injury. With their leading scorer out of Steve Kerr’s rotation, the Warriors have managed only three wins on 18 attempts.

Second-year guard, Jacob Evans III will start in Russell’s place in Washington. Draymond Green and Alec Burks should also see an increase in ball-handling responsibilities as the Warriors try to win two-straight games.
