D’Andre Swift scores his 1st NFL touchdown

Detroit Lions rookie running back D’Andre Swift scored his 1st NFL touchdown in the first half of their Week 1 game against the Chicago Bears.

Detroit Lions rookie running back D’Andre Swift opened Week 1 against the Chicago Bears as the third running back off the bench, but he made the biggest impact of the game so far scoring his first NFL touchdown and giving the Lions the lead going into the half.

Swift had once carry for one yard and one target without a reception entering the final 40-seconds of the first half. The Lions’ two-minute offense took the field and he secured a catch for seven yards, followed by two beautiful T.J. Hockenson catches setting up a first and goal from the one-yard line.

In the play below, Swift gets the handoff and sprints to the frontside B-gap for the easy score:

The only person that touched him on the play was the Lions right guard, fellow rookie Jonah Jackson, who was more in the way than an actual obstacle.

Congrats to the rookie on a fun first moment in the NFL.
