Moneyline

Dallas (-165) is hoping to repeat what they did against Minnesota in going down 2-1 in the series and not losing another game — and I think they accomplish that. Grubauer was the star of the Avalanche series and kept the Kraken in it, but he has begun to cave in as Dallas dominates the pace.

PASS on moneyline pricetag though, and look to the spread.

Puck line/Against the spread

The last 4 games in the series have been decided by 2 goals or more, and every Dallas win has been as such. Dallas has scored 4 goals or more in 6 of 7 games, and that’s what it’s going to take to cash a puck line in Game 6.

Take the STARS -1.5 (+150).

Over/Under

The Over is 5-0-1 in the last 6 for Dallas and 5-0 in the last 5 for Seattle. The Over is 8-0 in the last 8 between the teams and 4-0 in the last 4 in Seattle. I just don’t see 7 goals with a Dallas victory.

Dallas is resilient. They dropped Game 3 to Minnesota 5-1 and responded in Game 4 with a 3-2 victory at their house. They’ll do it again in Seattle as this one is earmarked for 7 games. The Stars are 4-0 in their last 4 games after allowing 5 or more goals.

Take the STARS (-135).

Puck line/Against the spread

This series is too close to take Dallas by 2 or more goals, and Seattle staying within 1 is too expensive. Stars LW Jason Robertson has not scored in the series and has just 2 goals in the postseason after 46 in the regular season. I’ll take a chance on JASON ROBERTSON ANYTIME GOAL (+125).

Over/Under

Every game has gone Over this series, and the books are finally starting to take notice. The Over is 6-0 in the last 6 games between the teams and is 3-0-1 in the last 4 for Dallas.

Kraken LW Jared McCann skated with the team over the weekend, but he’s likely to remain out for this game. The Kraken have to do a better job with Dallas’ net-front presence. If they can score early and make Dallas chase them, they have a shot. I’m siding with Dallas in this game, and I’ll sweeten the deal.

Take STARS ML + OVER 4.5 GOALS +125.

Puck line/Against the spread

In 4 of Dallas’ 5 wins this postseason, they have won by multiple goals. However 4 of the last 6 games between the teams has ended within a goal. The price is too high at -225 for Seattle to keep it there.

PASS and look to the total.

Over/Under

All 5 games between the teams had at least 6 goals scored this season. Seattle has cashed the Over in 3 of the last 4 games, and Dallas has cashed the Over in 4 of its last 5. The books still haven’t bought in to those trends.
