There’s not a lot — or, really, any live sports — going on right now, but that doesn’t mean that sports have stopped providing people with memorable moments.
Just ask former independent league player Cory Willig.
Willig took a trip to a nearby baseball field this weekend with his young son, Ash, to hit some baseballs. And that afternoon led to a memory that has since gone viral on social media.
Willig caught his son’s first home run on video, and as the ball cleared the fence, Willig had the absolute best proud-dad reaction to the impressive homer. This was so great.
He wrote on Instagram:
May 1st, 2020 will forever be remembered in our memory banks! For those who have been following Ash and his baseball journey thus far you know what has gone into this moment! HE DID IT!!!! Homerun over the fence! Pretty legit shot too! All those times in front of our house this past month paid off! So proud of you son! Next goal is the ⚾️! Looking forward to that 2021 season! Also had to rock his new Ronald Acuna jersey! It’s so good to be back!!!!
From the looks of that swing, it could be the first of many for Ash.
